Zelda Kingdom | Board Rules

If youre reading this, then keep on reading. Everyone should be aware of all the forums rules that the ZK runs on, and respect them as such.

The penalty system

this is how its gonna work, when you, or any other member here breaks one of the rules listed here, you will get a strike, or "point" against you. when your warns (or points, w/e) max out, you get banned. Gone. buhbye. HOWEVER, there are intstances where you can your warn level lowered. like, If you go a month without breaking any rules, then your warn level will be drecresed a bit. This system will allow moderators to issue warnings alot more fluently and let users know what rules they have broken.

so, if you respect that, then everything will be great and nice for you and everyone in the forums.

So then here are the rules you are required to follow.

1. No posting of inappropriate or illegal images or text. The Zelda Kingdom prides itself on being a nice place for EVERYONE to stay, and follows a strict "PG13" rating. there are younger members here. be mindful of that and make sure you do nothing to disrupt the forums by posting things that are illegal, inappropriate, or just plain wrong, anywhere, at any time.

*Explicit/Illegal images - Automatic Perma-Ban

2. No Flamming or Trolling

in order to understand how to not do this, you have to understand what they are. Flamming is basically the blatant posting (or messaging) of an offensive term or image with no purpose but to attack another member. this includes making fun of someone, calling them offensive terms, and basically De-moralizing them. you should always respect your fellow members in every respect. and if someone flames you? dont do it back. just report it and the staff will handle it.

Trolling is basically the Varriable that causes Flamming. things that provoke other users into starting a Flame war. and no one wants a war here. there are some exceptions to this, like harmless taunting and good natured comments to friends, but It would be best to just try and avoid a confrontation at all times.

other things~
a. be respectful of new members. this is an always thing. I mean, everyone was a newbie at some point, so make em' feel welcomed the best you can.

b. be respectful of everyone. this is kinda obvious, but It has to be followed by everyone. Even if theres someone you dont like, you should trat them fairly regardless. if someone is treating you unfairly, like flamming you in coutless PMs? just report it to a moderator or Admin, and we'll take care of it.

c. another given, Be respectful of the ZK Staff. pretty much like the last rule, although I would be a bit more midful when around staff. they do have the power to warn you you know. you can still share your opinions about staff though, as long as its not profain in any way, Opinions and suggestions are graciously accepted. you should also seek out their advice when you dont know something. However, it is important that you listen to what they say. For example: if they tell you not to post something, don't post it.

* Flaming - 2 warn points
* Trolling - 1 warn point
* Disrespect for Forum Leaders - 3 warn points

(the length that the points stay there depend on the sevarity of the Rule break in question. like if someone went on an all out Swear-fest, then it would last alot longer than a simple "shut up")

3. Do not Double or Triple Post

This is self-explanatory, but do not double, triple, quadruple, etc. post. The only exception is if you are posting an addition to a story or if you did it by accident. but for everything else, when you need to add something, simply use the edit button.

* Double Posting unnecessarily - 1 warn point
* Triple posting unnecessarily - 2 warn points
* Quadruple or more posting unnecessarily - 2 warn points

4. No Spaming

this is Considered by most to be the most important rule, and so, it must be followed by EVERYONE. WITH NO EXCEPTIONS AT ALL. Except the spam hall :D Spamming is a big problem on every forum everywhere, so theres no debate to wether or not spam is justified. if it's irrelavent to the topic, then it gets removed and you'll get warned. another way to prevent spamming would be to disconnect your computer and remove all internet access on other devices and find a more worthwhile activity, such as working in the local Soup Kitchen.

spam is quite simply, Stupid pointless annoying messages. what this means is posts composed of something like just a jumble of random numbers and letters , or some random saying like "the sky is blue!" are not allowed. its really annoying to most people. but if you need to spam, keep it in the right place.

some examples would be one word posts, posts made entirely of emotes, millions of images in a single post, bumping topics, Swearing randomly, and posting in every topic in a short ammount of time. however, If the post is relavent to the topic, then there may be exceptions to these conditions.

(each of the below warns will be issued FOR EACH INFRATION)
* One-line post, no substance, "lame post" - 1 point,
* Minor Spamming - 1 warn point,
* Major Spamming - 3 warn points and 2 weeks ban
* Excessive Major Spamming - automatic banning.

"minor" "major" and such will be defined by the Staff. If they find it to be spam, then its spam. no exceptions. (unless its completely obvious that it ISNT spam.)

also, If a topic is spam, DO NOT reply to it. the staff are very capable of handling the problem themselves and it would just be best to ignore the topic and PM a member of staff about it.

*Assisted spamming - 2 warn points

5. Taking advantage of the site

this rule includes a variety of points, and here they are.

a. Multiple accounts: each user can only have ONE account. this is to prevent massive spamming and using other accounts from bumping your own topics. I mean really, if you have to do this, then you're just a sad sad person.

b. Bypassing the language filter. don't do it. some swears are blocked for A REASON you know. But if you MUST bleep a word out, bleep the whole word. not all but one letter.

c. talking about staff matters on public boards. Do not talk of anything partaining to the staff such as warns, bans, and the admin CP. If you need to talk to the staff about anything like this, do so in a PM.

d. Pretending to be staff and/or editing staff edits. this will not be tolerated at all and will result in an immediate week long ban.

Multiple accounts - 4 warn points and a month ban
Filter Bypass - 3 warn points and a week ban

Speaking of staff matters
Small infraction - Removal of Post and verbal warning
Large infraction - Removal of post and 1 week ban

6. Signature limits

I know this shouldn't be that much of a problem, but it does bother some people from time to time. so heres the deal, just follow the below guitelines and your signature wont be deleted ^_^

-No more then 6 lines in length
-No more than 2 images per signature (this does not include Tribe userbars,)
-You may only use up to 2 visible spoilers in your signature (does not include spoilers within spoilers)

try not to make any images in your signarue bigger than...oh...I dont know... this.

If you need to make it any bigger than that then there must be something wrong with you.

and thats pretty much it. oh! one more thing.
and this is important now, If you receive a total of 6 warns, you will be banned.

so thank you, and I hope you enjoy the Zelda Kingdom Forums!
