Your Rain: News Desk

Last updated on: September 29th, 2013.

It's been a long ass time, but here we are.

This is for the members that have already came back, and for any possible returning members. I'm just writing this to let you all know that I am completely serious about restarting and re-vamping this site. I'd love to get our little community back up again, and maybe even expand that little community!
In-Game Info:

Year: 2005

Month: August
I want to also apologize for my sudden absence from here. Personal life was becoming very tough and, without going into too much detail, I was at a very bad place in my life. But now things are getting better, and I'm ready to start becoming an active RPer again, and to re-connect with all of you guys! So, here's some general questions I have for you all: do you want to restart our roleplays or wrap up what we already have? Also, what sorts of changes would you like to see around here? We'll discuss all of this in the coming weeks.

I want to give you an idea of what will be different with this re-opening. 1. The Site Rules will probably be updated. The update probably won't be too major, but enough will be different that it will warrant a look from new and existing members. 2. My expectations for writing quality are going to be stricter. Your Rain was open to RPers of all experience levels in the past, but I need to start expecting a certain level of quality. Not perfection, of course, because nobody's perfect. But since I've matured as a writer, I'm going to want a mature group of writers on the site. My vision for what I want this site to be and what I want it to become has changed since I started out. This is really aimed more at new members, because I know the existing members are all very talented writers. But just don't be surprised if I'm more meticulous than I was when the site started. I hope I don't come across as an asshole though! Your Rain will, of course, be first and foremost about having fun in the world of Silent Hill, so don't expect that to change any time soon. And as always, I will accept members regardless of their level of Silent Hill knowledge, because they can always be teached! Anyway, I'm very excited to be continuing with this site, and hopefully make it even better than before!

Blake gazed from the window. The combination of fog and natural light causing his skin to appear paler than usual. He strained his eyes in an attempt to peer through the mist.
"Where am I?" Despite being inside his voice became blunt as if dulled down not only by the fog but by the air around him. Blake turned towards the desk behind him. The desk was of the Victorian Era with a liftable top. Blake trusted this surface with his Violin Case which held his pride and joy: Promise. Blake only ever shared one passion with his mother: Music. Ever since he was young his mother taught the Violin and only ever wanting to impress his mother he delved into the world of music... Thankfully he loved it. He treated the various Sonatas and Arias as if friends. He learned more instruments and Music Theory. The memory of his mother's teared filled eyes is still vivid in his mind's eye when he informed her.
"I'm accepted to Music School" He left and honed his abilities to the point of professionalism. Once graduated he returned home to find his Mother's house empty. She'd passed away. The only thing left to him was Promise. His Mother's Violin.
He opened the case to check on the violin. He slowly glided his fingers across the dark wood; the varnished dark wood. He closed the case quickly as if to protect it from the tainted location he found himself in: He played his Mother's violin everyday. Only till after a week of playing he found a strange presence in his peripheral senses. Silently perched on the edge of his mind. As time passed and the more he played the presence gradually got nearer. Whenever he felt it approach his fear forced him from his playing causing the presence to vanish. Only during his playing, when he was in 'The Zone' he felt it. Worry caused Promise to stay in it's case. Gathering Dust. Any thoughts of the entity forced from his head. Only returning when he lay awake at night thinking over what it could be...
"Mum?" Blake smiled as a planned formed in his head. Early next morning he retrieved his mother's violin and once again sank into 'The Zone' as he bowed the strings. The being approached, slowly rising above him. Only in the last moment did Blake realise he'd misinterpreted this presence as he was engulfed in a sheer whiteness. He gripped his violin tightly as the white lightened to become thick fog. His mind boggled over the school that now towered infront of him. He returned to the window hoping to see sign of life amongst the dense fog.

Felix walked and walked, and found himself an impossible distance from where he had left off, but he doesn't know that, nor should you expect him to find out. Felix looked across the road watching the fog part, he was accustomed to it's habits as behaved as a melodramatic stage hand would, parting the curtains whenever a monster was approaching. This time however the form was much more familiar, much more common, while altogether uncommon in this town.

Surprised and a little bit excited Felix ran across the road and continued along the sidewalk towards them, call it habit but he just doesn't feel comfortable walking in the middle of the road. Once within earshot he let out a call to the person, at this range he'd have a shot of running away if they were a mimic, "Hey! Welcome to Silent Hill! Population: us." He amused himself there, his greeting sounded like either a post apocalyptic romantic comedy, or a cheesy horror film. His laugh might not have helped presentation much but if he could make light of the predicament why couldn't they.

Blake noticed the Shadow materialise. His initial feeling were one of fear as The Presence glided through his mind. His fears calmed when hearing his voice. It was human. He creaked the window open and leaned out the window. His subconscious urged to limit how far he leaned out as if it was aware of what could be out there.
"Hi! Silent Hill? I really don't understand what you talking about?" With a Glance back to assure himself that his violin was okay he added.
"Come inside! I'm in the Music Room! Can you explain what's going on? I'm kinda... Lost" He paused contemplating whether he should wait for the figure in the fog to decide or not before just closing the window.
"If he comes. He comes"

The figure he had approached was not the figure that addressed him though, for the person he walked up to disappeared as soon as the voice up above could be responded, Felix blinked and looked around for the voice, they had apparently heard him. Finally he saw them close the window. 'Looks like my next adventure is the this school.' Felix sighed, he really didn't like the idea of going into buildings, not after last time. Walking to the doors they opened gracefully, he stepped into the dark lobby and crept forward until his eyes adapted.

Once he left the lobby he found himself in a corridor. Looking both ways he wasn't sure which to go, he eventually heard a breathing sound and then decided to go that way. Nothing jumped out at him as he tip-toed down the corridor, he then opened the door to find he was at the end of another corridor. 'Who would design a school like this!?' Felix thought to himself. Making his way down that hall as quietly as possible he dreaded seeing anything, anything at all, he found the stairs going up and followed them.

Now, according to what he saw outside, this mystery person should be back towards the lobby. 'Could they have chosen a further place to get lost?' Felix sighed, but then remembered himself and looked around in a panic. Nope nothing, yet...

Time seemed to stand still. It rendered people with the absence of a sense of time. He spent a few minutes contemplating whether it had been 2 blinks of an eye or an hour he's waited. He decided it was pointless waiting for something in a place that has already betrayed him logically. He hoisted his vionlin around his shoulder via a leather strap and exited the classroom.
He continued to marvel at the fog that brightened the corrider as it was omnipresent. He made his way down the corridor towards the office in the small hope he'd find a working phone. In the hope he'd find some to speak to. In the hope he'd find an answer.
The office was plain. It's atmosphere had the same properties of everyelse he'd been so far: Blunted, dulled down. He tried the phone.
"Hello?" No dialling tone but faint whispers could be heard down the receiver. No subject of conversation could be distinguished. Only a few detached words of with no specific meaning.
"Role...Boys not meant to do that...Father...Dancing...In love with...Too close for a bestfriend...Did you see them...Doesn't play football...In the tree...In the toilets..." The voices had no tone or feeling behind them or where to quiet to distinguish any tone. He put down the receiver. Carefully placed his violin case on the desk before sinkning into his chair. His mind wandered on what his next steps should be.

Making his way to the end of the corridor he could hear walking on the other side of the door, taking a deep breath he opened the door to see the music room person walking through the door at the end off that hallway. Cursing Felix ran the length to catch up with them. Once he reached the doors he opened them and saw no trace of the person. Felix cringed, not another phantom, he began to wonder.

Noticing the stairs he jumped down them, as he followed the phantom's trail the school's lighting began to brighten, it was pitch black when he first got here first, but now things were about as dull as outside, Felix interpreted this as a good sign and decided to give the school another once over before giving up. Fortunately he checked out the office area and saw them sitting in the chair. "Hey there, the name is Felix... You wouldn't happen to be from around here, would you?" He thought of asking them if they were real, but that wouldn't be a very good introductory question.

As soon as the words left his mouth however his surroundings began to fade from focus. Felix found himself back in the basement of the Hospital.
