i've read news abt No smoking in restaurant, pub and bar, any open aired markets and JJ market. it said this rule will begin on feb 11 08. whoever brake this law, have to pay around 2000 ฿. the owner of building have to pay around 20000 ฿. what you do think is it gonna work for thai people, i mean will all smokers do it. i guess not all people. i hate smoker as i worried abt someday i mite b a allergy from secondhanded smoker. i tried 2 avoid smoking area in university like cafeteria, i can't i have to face it everyday. like my situation i avoided sitting to smoker, however it was crowded, so 1 smoker sat next 2 me and blew smoke on my way. how cruel he was. that's why i hated smoker. it seemed smoking for students and university students was fashion. some1 told me if i din't smoke i can't be one of my friend group. just smoke 2 b member of a group as they r kool. they are so dumb in my opinion. |

I thought it started on the 17th? Well, I think it won't be too bad considering they can still smoke outside the door if they choose to. This law was passed in the states in California about 3 years ago. They said it wouldn't work there but it did. However, this is Thailand we're talking about so I expect to see it enforced for the first two to three weeks and then only be enforced when the local fuzz need some quick cash.

I hope this law will work and Thai people with accept it and obey it! To be honest I used to be a smoker but just like tifa said I got from peer things to fix in, but then I realise how bad it is I stop and make sure people I care to try it. About the secondhand smoke it is very bad for people and I hate it a lot, it you want to smoke go some where far from people who don't. And kids who think smoking is cool and awsome, and only people who smoke like you can join in the group well they can kiss my A**, coz it is not cool and disgusting.

I agree. Today when I was cutting through Soi Cowboy I noticed that all the bars and pubs have the no smoking sign on their doors. I'll try to look closer the next time I pass through and see if anyone is doing otherwise. |
