why don't people clean up after their dogs in bangkok, when walking on the sois you have to always look down to make sure you don't step into it.

Isn't there any laws to control this or it's just know enforced like many of the other regulations in Bangkok ^o) ^o)

That's true. Near my home I not only have to look out for dog poop but also for elephant poop because they walk them on my Soi a lot trying to get tourists to feed them and take a picture with them.

haha, my friend is always kidding saying he wants to buy a baby elephant. I was with him the other day at JJ's and he bought 2 slow loris; they don't do much as pets though

Lol, yeah I can imagine. I don't like buying any pets at JJ because they will sell animals that are in poor health without telling you about it. I have an aunt who bought a golden retriever from JJ and it died after about a week of having it.

That's sad; I bought 2 small water turtles about 7 months ago, they're still surviving despite my poor turtle raising skills

Yeah, we had one Golden Retriever puppy already from a friend of ours and my aunt saw that one and thought ours would like a friend. I don't like to look at the old pictures of him but I can't bring myself to delete them either. It's amazing how much you can grow attached to something in such a short period of time. My wife is a huge dog lover and at one time last year we had 31 golden retrievers in my house! Since then we have temporarily moved into a condo that doesn't really allow pets so we have given away all of them except for 3. Those 3 stay with our vet and we give him money every month to take care of them until we can take them home. In the meantime we have two toy poodles that do live with us and they're small enough that no one cares that we keep them.

As for turtles, my sisters has some and I remember taking care of them while she was gone on a trip and I forgot to feed them once. I felt so bad about it but luckily they're pretty tough and nothing happened to them. They can smell a bit when you clean out their bowl though but still pretty cool to have. My friend had two pet iguanas I really loved them though they are lazy as hell and normally just sit there.

When I first arrived into Thailand when visiting JJ's I couldn't resist andI bought one of those African pygmy hedgehogs but it died approximately 2 weeks later, no more live animals for me.

:P OMG I send this to animal right, it is too sad to hear all of this story about pets. I used to have 3 cats but now I only have one left. He been in my family for 10 - 15 years now but he still very health and happy, until last week one of my mum friend give us a puppy, that is when my cat get very angry and beat up the puppy everyday just for steal the tension away. Hopefully they will get along but it seem like small chance. and I think the puppy is bangkaew.
