How far do you take the romance in a novel? How far should you take the romance in a novel? Is there a shoulda-woulda-coulda or a set rule in place?

Personally, I think the romance in a novel should go as far as the writer is willing to take it. First kiss to the morning after may not always be appropriate, but if the writer is willing to push the envelope a bit then why wouldn't it be appropriate?

Open for debating :]

Well, I for one am not a romance-novel-writing-person, but I do enjoy romance. Everyone knows that, one, it has to be a good book. Two, it has to be something people will enjoy reading. In a romance novel if you make the characters go all the way, don't give to many details. Although some readers really enjoy that, some don't. I also think that if they do go all the way, at the end they should get in trouble or something. I love it when that happens!

Sorry, I'm sort of getting off subject here.

So that's what I think...I hope you can all understand me right. I have a bad habit of not being understood, which is a horrible habit for writers.

Oh, and congrats on opening the first thread in the debates forum! :cheerleader:
