Let's play a love game, play a love game... Posts: 888 Group: Administrators Member #38 Joined: Aug 4, 2008	Alright guys, I'm thinking of restructuring Writers Realm a bit. Streamlining it, maybe combining a few forums or adding forums...stuff like that. What I'm thinking: New themes. At least, a new default theme. It's a bit misleading for newcomers, who may not get that our current default them doesn't have easy access to the user CP. Getting rid of the club section. In the Off Topic section, a new forum called Clubs will be created and all the current forums for each of the clubs will become subforums. The Sign Ups forum will also become a subforum. I'm also thinking of getting rid of how only users from that group can access the forum because if you're in multiple clubs like I am, it might only let you see one club (which is what it does with me). How about things like passwords instead? Making the Sneak Peaks forum a subforum under the Island of Tales Making the Drawings, Computer Graphics, and Pictures into a separate forum, instead of having it as a subforum under Chat House Getting read of the Blog Blab category. Move the Creative Impulse forum to the Front Desk category and have the Comments forum as a subforum instead. What I'm trying to do is cut down on what's actually on the main index of the forum. Makes it look a little neater if the users don't have to sort through dozens of forums to find what they're looking for. What do you think? Also, I think that Tournaments and Contests should be combined as they're roughly the same thing. I don't think you need two forums just because one's writing and one's not, it doesn't really matter. The arty stuff haveing its own forum is one I've been thinking of for a while, I think it should be part of the Notebook section as I think art is just as important as writing to many people. Also, Comments (at the bottom) and Contribute Your Thoughts (at the top) are also basically the same thing, so maybe we could combine them, too? Edited by Lykaios, Jul 12 2009, 07:30 AM.

I might look into a way of combining those though... In the meantime, I think I'm going to slowly begin restructuring the forums...unless anyone else feels different...? I'm sure that a few of us don't really write prose nor poetry at time, so a nice "Poetic Prose" or "Mixed 'Maginings" forum would be good. Since you can't put it under any of the others. 2 - The power for the average member to delete their own posts, it gets annoying, trust me.
	Everybody loves the universe. If you can look past the black holes, the rogue asteroids, the gym teachers, and that paper boy who keeps throwing your magazines into the bushes, it's a simple place most of us can call a happy home. It's a good thing. However, even the obviously non-sentient universe has a sense of irony. You see, the universe is going to end. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not 10120 years from now, but it will happen. One of the ways science predicts our inevitable demise is by pissing off God. But that's another story. Instead, another way that science predicts the universe will cease to function is through the "heat death of the universe" theory.

Posts: 888 Group: Administrators Member #38 Joined: Aug 4, 2008	I'll look into both of your demands, but only if you say please :P Lol, I've seen the delete option abused at THL so I've been reserved about the second option (trust me when I say abused. Major headache there...). I don't see that sort of drama popping up here though, so I'll definitely look into that option. I know how useful it is o.o;; As for the mixed forum thing, I'm thinking just a kind of...miscellaneous forum for all other writing. Kinda what was stated above, but for whatever misfit writing we have that doesn't fit any of the above.

How the hell can you abuse deleting your own posts? I'm intrigued. One chick at THL deleted close to 400 of her posts before we could stop her. Big mess to clean up and we had to restore the board from a backup from about half a month before. Lost a lot of progress there. Here though, I don't see the same thing happening, so I'll go ahead and give you guys the ability. :] Oh, and thanks for the "please" there :P Edit: done; you should be able to delete your own posts and topics now.
