Hi.

My name is Amy. I'm 15, I'm from West Sussex, UK. I'm gay. I love to write. I write poems, short stories, anything really. I'm best at writing horror and romance, but can turn my hand to other genres also. I tend to write very abtract works, as I find it difficult to stick to a story without much encouragment. Oh, and I'm very picky about grammar. I correct people's grammar on a borderline OCD level.

I am in Year 10, which, for those outside the UK, means I am studying GCSEs. Which, again for those who don't have this system, means I have picked certain subjects and will get qualifications in those subjects only, rather than one over-riding certificate which is I believe the system they have in France. I am forced to study English, Maths (finished this year, 1 year early), Science (finished this year) and ICT, and though choice I study Sociology (finished this year, 1 year early), Resistant Materials (woodwork, metalwork and 3D design), Music, and Drama with Stagecraft (so, lighting, set and costume as well as acting).

I also love music. I listen to all sorts of bands and artists. Mainly I love My Chemical Romance, David Bowie, Green Day, Elton John, Marilyn Manson, Mika, Slipknot and George Michael, although obviously there's a few hundred others that I adore.

I spend most of my time rehearsing and performing. I do endless drama and music performances, playing in the school band and string orchestra, singing in the choir, and playing often drunk chracters in drama (I have been in every production barr one since I started my current school three years ago.)

People call me emo, and many hold the belief that I am a vampire. Sorry, but this is not so. I do however have deathly white skin and a fondness for heavy, dark make-up. And black clothes. And really awesome black or purple high heeled shoes. I wear heels so often I am now unable to walk in flats. I don't always dress darkly, I do wear red and purple as well (although not together) and thanks to my drama teacher I now furiously back-comb my hair and draw various glam symbols on my face with old eyeliner.

Another thing. Somebody answer me this. What is the point of liquid eyeliner? You can't use it on your eyes, it stings like a bitch. I swear it's just leftover crude oil. Or parrafin.

You sound pretty interesting, though I'm sure you're not a vampire. :P

What do you like to read?

Yes! Wahooo! I'm no longer the only British person here! :)

You're very welcome, Amy. I'm Lily and I live in Devon which I think is a part of West Sussex . . . I get confused about the old names as I've only lived down here a couple years. I'm also in year 11, so I've just finished my GCSEs.

Anyway. Questions. :)

Have you ever written/attempted a novel?
What's your favourite pudding?
And what are your favourite books/authors?

Hey! Great to meet another drama chick! (although I was always just on set/prop crew, never any acting or anything lol) Oh and about the liquid liner - I always thought of it as ink, not oil, but I definitely agree with you there. Took me about a month to be able to apply it without stabbing my eyes xD

You sound like an awesome person and I hope you stick around. Welcome to Writers Realm! :]

bjullie - I don't read anything like as much as I used to, but I used to read a lot of mystery, action and fantasy books like Artemis Fowl and Alex Rider. More recently I've been fighting my way through Crime and Punishment, and a bit of Satre

Lykaios - I have attempted a novel, but failed relatively quickly. I have huge problems keeping plots and momentum going. My favourite pudding is probably Tiramisu, although I rarely have pudding, I don't eat enough. My favourite authors include Eion Colfer, Anthony Horowitz and Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Also, woo! Another Brit!

Icey - Drama FTW. Liquid eyeliner is just... no.

Hi.

You remind me of hypernovae.

Anyway.

If your writing is worth my time, I'll critique it. If it isn't, I'll critique it anyway. But, y'know, we can't all be "ZOMGBADWRITERKILLKILLKILL" so I'm not really allowed to mention whether I like the piece of writing or not. And apparently I'm not given permission to be prejudice against the author or hurl insults at other members. 'Cause that's cyber-bullying. Apparently. Plus, I'm not allowed to comment on whether I like you or not.

Meh.

If you write poetry, I'll make you write real poetry.

Unless you already do that, which I seriously do not want.

Oh, yeah, one thing.

...

Literature taste.

Ya like Meyer?

Hang on, 'nother thing. Eoin Colfer can't write, many because the first time I read his books it was littered with plot holes and notorious clichés. Choice of taste, I mean, if you like reading crap ... :b

Everybody loves the universe. If you can look past the black holes, the rogue asteroids, the gym teachers, and that paper boy who keeps throwing your magazines into the bushes, it's a simple place most of us can call a happy home. It's a good thing. However, even the obviously non-sentient universe has a sense of irony. You see, the universe is going to end. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not 10120 years from now, but it will happen. One of the ways science predicts our inevitable demise is by pissing off God. But that's another story. Instead, another way that science predicts the universe will cease to function is through the "heat death of the universe" theory.

I like Colfer.

Meyer, I cannot stand.

Dostoyevsky, King, Satre... always good :)

I always thought that Colfer was a pretty sound author. He may use cliches, but so do most children's/teen authors. Younger children especially, want to relate what they read to something as their knowledge is fairly limited compared to well-read late teens/adults. Colfer hits the mark. His books are also enjoyable to most age groups as well as the target ages groups. Also, where are the plot-holes?
