Good news! Thanks to my fiance, Viral Dragon and his mother, it looks like Icey's on her way to becoming a published author! :D

My pride and joy, the second novel I've actually finished, was sent in to Midnight Showcase Fiction and they're interested. The Resort is posted, at full length, here at Writers Realm, in the Older Audiences forum (posted there because it is 18+ romance) - however this is not the final product. I have currently been in the process of writing the simultaneous third/fourth drafts for the story (third being handwritten, fourth being the edited typed product). The first seven or eight chapters are being scrapped for a complete overhaul - as well as points in the plotline and description (not to mention, my writing style changes in the above link around maybe chapter seven or eight, and changes again later in the story). To see the real change in my style, and what I mean by complete overhaul, you can read the comparisons between drafts two and three at The Hallow Life.

I'm really nervous and excited and terrified and...well you get it. But omg, becoming a serious writer has been my dream since I was like, twelve, maybe. And Viral and his mother have nudged me in the right direction. Major thanks goes to both because I wouldn't have gotten the guts to do it myself at this stage. Lol.

Here's hoping everything goes well. Wish me luck! :D

:O Congrats! That sounds exciting! You're gonna have to give us links to where we can get it when it's published. :D Hope it all works out.

This both makes me happy and annoyed.

You shouldn't censor writing. It's a free spell of words, even if it does have sex, language or mature audience themes in it. I've written several pieces on horrific themes (necrophilia, socio-path induced murder, fascist genocide). It's littered through history, if you're going to censor books you might as well censor life. Younger audiences who can't understand the concept I can grasp, 'cause there's no point writing a book if they're not going to get it. But pu-lease, not allowing the self-sustainable writer or generally intelligent dimorphic scramble about can't do any harm.

Well done anyway, take your championship. BUT, I'm still badass-er than you. (:
Everybody loves the universe. If you can look past the black holes, the rogue asteroids, the gym teachers, and that paper boy who keeps throwing your magazines into the bushes, it's a simple place most of us can call a happy home. It's a good thing. However, even the obviously non-sentient universe has a sense of irony. You see, the universe is going to end. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not 10120 years from now, but it will happen. One of the ways science predicts our inevitable demise is by pissing off God. But that's another story. Instead, another way that science predicts the universe will cease to function is through the "heat death of the universe" theory.

Haha, no, I don't censor any of my writing. I mean, one of my... "wildest" stories involves a bdsm-type relationship between step siblings. However, the forum has restrictions due to the general age group of this board, I think :P Oh and how can I be more badassier than God? xDD

At everyone else, thanks a lot! Within the past few days, I've been pouring myself into researching the technical details of getting published, like getting a literary agent, or what will make an editor automatically reject a manuscript. Have I mentioned that I'm both terrified and excited? LOLL. But finding support here is comforting ^^

Thanks, bjullie. I've been researching publication like crazy. I have a few books on my desk about it, but a few more tips never hurts! :D
