Before you vote, you might want to read this. I've been saving up for a laptop, and I have a pitiful $175. The plug-in spot for the charger broke on the old Inspiron 2650 my mom gave me, so I couldn't charge it and had to stop using it. The other day, while browsing Ebay, I found a refurbished Asus Eee PC 1000 for a mere $240! They're being sold until June 10, so that leaves me about 2 weeks to earn $65. So, should I try to further convince my parents to lend me $65 (I would pay them back when I get my b-day money!), or should I wait for my mom to finally get around to getting the old laptop fixed? |

I've never heard of a Asus Eee PC 1000...but I say you should try to get your mom to fix the Dell Inspiron, and then if she can't, buy the other one. :) |

| Everybody loves the universe. If you can look past the black holes, the rogue asteroids, the gym teachers, and that paper boy who keeps throwing your magazines into the bushes, it's a simple place most of us can call a happy home. It's a good thing. However, even the obviously non-sentient universe has a sense of irony. You see, the universe is going to end. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not 10120 years from now, but it will happen. One of the ways science predicts our inevitable demise is by pissing off God. But that's another story. Instead, another way that science predicts the universe will cease to function is through the "heat death of the universe" theory. | |

Not too late for this, is it? I think which computer you chose depends more or less on your intent. If all you use the laptop for is like...typing stories or browsing the internet, you probably don't need something elaborate. If that's the case, I'd say go with the Inspiron, which shouldn't be too hard to fix. The Asus sounds like a good deal...but then again,I'm wondering why the price is so low...mind linking us to the ebay page? Sidenote - my fiance's better with computers than I am, so if I could get more information on this, I could probably get a better reply through him :P |

I think I'm going to save my money for a new laptop someday... I'm not going to get the one off ebay, it is cheap. My mom said that she'll get her other broken laptop fixed, but I don't know when she'll get around to it. The good thing is that if the one she says she'll get fixed breaks again and we can't fix it, then I could get a new one, but I still don't know if my mom is going to even try to get the laptop fixed. -_- Thanks for your opinions, anyway. :) |
