04/05/09 - Entry Two

Gangsters chasing me
(This isn't a metaphor);
Teachers hate my core;
Is there something wrong with me?

I don't even belong in a race.
They all sit back and watch me suffer.
It's not that I expect them to help,
but I just need to see a sign of care.
Only one, not only offering to save me,
but bring me to surface of the deep sea.

He dared to approach me,
when no one else would, and told me:
"You're my friend. That's what friends do."
This kindness is almost too foreign to be true.
He stayed with me when I wept
(I'm talking in literal sense).
If only I could repay him;
not just absorb it when he left.

He still asked me of how well I was,
and is such a good friend to me.
People like him kept me alive several times,
saving my several attempts to take my life.
But I can't bear the pain.
I'm probably going to get shot anyway.
I hope they have good aim.

If you're going to keep driving poems through these dates as "entries" then I suggest you keep them to the same thread. And one more thing ...

If a poem is personal to you, and has thoughts about people or places we have never seen/heard of, then I suggest you don't post it. Mainly for the fact it makes it difficult to critique, and that it's rather annoying because if we don't like it you can just say it's a personal thing. :b
Everybody loves the universe. If you can look past the black holes, the rogue asteroids, the gym teachers, and that paper boy who keeps throwing your magazines into the bushes, it's a simple place most of us can call a happy home. It's a good thing. However, even the obviously non-sentient universe has a sense of irony. You see, the universe is going to end. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not 10120 years from now, but it will happen. One of the ways science predicts our inevitable demise is by pissing off God. But that's another story. Instead, another way that science predicts the universe will cease to function is through the "heat death of the universe" theory.
