Let's play a love game, play a love game... Posts: 888 Group: Administrators Member #38 Joined: Aug 4, 2008	And no, I'm not talking about rpgs like WoW, D&D,whatever. I'm talking about story-based role plays done in forums, IM convos, writing, whatever. xD One of the reasons why I've disappeared is because I'm involved in nine simultaneous forum-based role plays with heavy storylines. None of them are exactly child friendly, but they have pushed me into being a better writer. It also helped me on think on my feet a bit. Like in one role play I'm in, there's probably six or seven people, with a strict posting order. So I have to keep up with the story, post what my character did during those posts in between and post what they're doing in the present. And of course, there's all sorts of unspoken rules, like no god modding and mary sueing and whatever. It's pushed me as a writer, and I think for the better. My character development has improved. My ability to work with people, ability to tweak storylines...stuff like that. Any of you guys ever done anything like it?

Though, admit it, you know you're a nerd when once upon a day, you notice you own your own roleplaying forum community thingy. Observer of all Posts: 2,337 Group: Root Administrator Member #1 Joined: Jan 29, 2008	I used to role play, but I never had that great of an experience...one on site that wasn't very active I could never get anyone to reply to my threads, and on another they wouldn't except my character no matter how many times I changed it, because I was missing something, or the description wasn't long enough...I guess that's only two sites, so I shouldn't be judging role playing on that, but that's my exprience. :(
