That's because Twilight is more or less a skewed version of vampires - and yes, Mary Sue alerrrttt!! Everything is too convenient in the Twilight world - no burning vampires, everyone's rich and pretty, problems can be solved without violence, vampires don't have to live off of humans...blah. Convenient, but boring. If you're into young adult books, go for the House of Night series - where this teenage girl finds out she's been Marked to transform into a vampire and in order to survive until the change happens, she has to live and attend school at the House of Night. High school drama, except everyone's a vampire. I've only read the first book but I definitely recommend it. I especially love the paganistic rituals involved, with calling the elements into a circle. Hehe. But what I love more than that is the drama! :] |

Fun!! (Sarcasm in the character's situation, not in the plot.. so said in more than one way. If that makes sense). |

(bump) Getting back on the House Of Night: I read Marked and I don't know. It's not really my style of novel. Pretty good, but it doesn't compare to Morganville (Carpe Corpus came out, yay!), in my opinion. I suppose I just didn't like the whole "House of Night" school idea. |

Ah, well I never really did continue with House of Night. Is Morganville good, then? |

Vampire fiction. Ick. Dracula was good, the rest that followed withered it down to a dead tree. |
| Everybody loves the universe. If you can look past the black holes, the rogue asteroids, the gym teachers, and that paper boy who keeps throwing your magazines into the bushes, it's a simple place most of us can call a happy home. It's a good thing. However, even the obviously non-sentient universe has a sense of irony. You see, the universe is going to end. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not 10120 years from now, but it will happen. One of the ways science predicts our inevitable demise is by pissing off God. But that's another story. Instead, another way that science predicts the universe will cease to function is through the "heat death of the universe" theory. | |
