What is Writers Realm?
Writers Realm is a website dedicated to writing of any kind - any genre, any age group. We share our writing, critique writing, and maybe offer advice to anyone who wants it. We discuss famous authors and their works. And most importantly, Writers Realm is a place to have fun - a place to make friends!
Why should I join Writers Realm?
Writers Realm is a great place to post your writing and get feedback. It can also be a place to first post your writing, if you're just starting out, to see if others like it, or how it can improve. Anyone can post any kind of writing here!
But what if I'm not a writer?
This is not exclusively a writing website. If you're not a writer, there are plenty of other forums that you can participate in - for instance, the Chat House, where we talk about anything and everything that comes to mind! Or if you like reading, you might want to try our Books and Authors forum, where you can discuss your favorite (or least favorite) authors and what they've written. There are also several clubs available to join that are about music, dancing and...yes, even writing.
What if no one likes my writing and says horrible things about my work?
There is a difference between criticism and constructive criticism. If people say they don't like it - that's fine, it just might not be what they like. It doesn't mean you're a bad writer. If anything, the people here will give you advice on how to improve. But if someone says something nasty that really offends you - notify one of the administrators, Allyson or IceDragon08. They will take care of the issue.
What if I'm just a bad writer? Does that mean I shouldn't post anything?
There is no such thing as a bad writer - just inexperienced. We can't all automatically become great writers - that takes years of hard work and dedication (not to mention a little help from editors). But that's what Writers Realm is for. We encourage you to post your work - no matter how good or bad you think it is. All of us here have had our bad days to where we can't write anything, so we will understand if a piece isn't your best work. But don't be shy! No one will rip you to shreds here.
Does this website offer advice about writing? I'd like to learn how to improve.
Writers Realm's Writing Advice, Tips, and Classes forum offers advice of writing of any kind. But don't be limited to just that! If you see someone who's struggling with the same thing you are, or if you see someone's writing style that is similar to yours, note the kind of advice given to that person. It could very well apply to you as well.
Can I give advice as well?
Of course! If you think you can help a struggling writer out, or if you want to post what you've learned from writig - by all means, post!
Is there a rating restriction on what kind of writing I can post?
To an extent, yes. Writing that is for the age group 13+ should go into the password-protected Older Audiences forum. To request access to the forum, send a PM to one of the administrators for the password.

If you are new to this website, first create an account. From there, log in and begin posting!
Are there any rules I should follow on this website?

Can I get banned from this website?
Yes. While the administration may not like banning people, they will if necessary. However, warnings will come before the ban - and plenty of reminders before that.
Can I become a staff member?
With a site as small as Writers Realm, a large staff is not needed. However, should the administration feel that you would be the perfect addition to the staff - they will ask you.
Who should I go to if I have a problem with this website or its members?
Should you encounter a problem of any sort, the administrators Allyson and IceDragon08 will work with you to try and find a solution. If the problem can be solved by a fellow poster on this board, a private message to that person will also work. There is also the Contribute Your Thoughts forum, where you can give us any thoughts on what we can do to improve this website.
When I'm on the internet, I use "netspeak" like "how r u" or "omg this site roxx." Is that okay?
Yes, netspeak is allowed on Writers Realm. However, if we have to translate everything you say "lyke omg evrything u say haz 2 b translated bc u dont type out neything @ all" then we might ask you to stop. 1337sp34k is not allowed though, because of the fact that the average internet user may not know what 1337 is or how to translate it (and having to translate sentences like 0|\/|G |=00 j00 j|_|57 g07 pwn3d is a real headache).
I run my own website. Am I allowed to advertise it here?
Yes. Advertisements can be posted in the Advertising forum - just make sure you follow the rules set in the forum. Advertising through PM is not allowed.
Does Writers Realm have an affiliate program?
Not completely. However, affiliates with Writers Realm can be viewed here.
