| Welcome to Write Outloud. WO (Write Outloud) was created due to my family's constant hassle on me to get a journal (in this case, WO is like my e-Journal), and write. So, I'd like to share with you, my stories, my poems, and my thoughts. In return, I'd like to hear yours. Join the story. Dead Man's Secrets *Loosely based off "Bedtime Stories" The year is 1795, in Maine. Theodore Grumaldi was a philosopher during his earlier days, now he has retired his ways - and intended to keep all of his personal achievements to himself, because nobody could be trusted with the amount of break-throughs & discoveries he's learned in his years of philosophy & experimenting. So, Theodore has decided to write in a book to himself, to keep him sane - and soon enough, he'll burn the book - for his time on the world is short, and he knows he'll be departing his family & friends, very briefly. May 19, 1795 I couldn't have her, not only for my age, but her Mother's high respect & authority throughout Maine - she'd have me jailed, raped, and killed - I wouldn't allow her to know I was with her daughter, I'd see to it that Jasmine knew the risk of telling her mother. I began to walk home, not knowing what to think anymore. I was thinking to myself 'Is there any possibility, that one's age could be altered?'. I woke up the next morning, today - and a green mixture was sitting on my desk, I took it and drank it, all of it. Shortly after, I felt 9 years younger, and looked only 51. I couldn't help but smile. May 20, 1795 I visited Jasmine today, she told her Mother about her and my relationship. I couldn't believe her! I'll kill her before her mother kills me! Ridiculous, how ungrateful she is - after all the time I devoted to her, how much of my small wealth I spent on her, it's unfair! I swear it, no matter what happens to me, I'll kill her. "Get him! Get him now! I want him dead!" said Jasmine's mother, the Mistress. The authorities broke down the door, and began to search for Theodore. They found him, hiding under his bed - with a book in his hand. He tried to set it on fire, but they restrained him from doing it, and took it. "Kill me if you must, but I will take the reality of imagination with me! From this day forward, when a child dreams, he will only be dreaming - never to receive the plunders of imagination. I will be back, one day - I will be back, and I will look for Jasmine in her reincarnated form, and I will make her suffer as did I. Love, I spit on it." After that day, Theodore's book disapeared, never to be found again - and as Theodore said, imagination - was purely a dream of wants & needs, never to become reality. Until One day, his book was discovered. ______________________________________ "Captian, there's a book stuck in the middle of the net, want me to just rip it out?" "No, bring it here - let me see it, you know I'm a man of literature. Well, c'mon now - bring 'er here!" The net slowly dropped onto the boat's surface, and the crew member pulled out his Swiss army knife, and cut it open. He searched for the book in the midst of the salmon, and sure enough - he found it. "Well, take a look at that Captain! It's a muddy piece of junk! I'll just throw it back in the watur!" "NO, I said let me see it. Ah, yes see - the book itself is in horrible shape, but the handwriting in it, is great!" The book cover was old and muddy, with ripples and tears all through it, but a untouched golden color on the front of the book read "The Study of Imagination". The first page in the book said "Theodore Grumaldi", and the Captain skimmed through the pages quite quickly, then he looked up at his crew with gleaming blue eyes and said "This right here, is a journal. Not an ordinary one either, it belonged to a philosopher - and it looks like he has alot of discoveries, he didn't want to share." The crew all began to give each other glances of boredom. "Capt'in, is the book worth anythin', or do you want me to throw it back in the watur?" "The book is priceless!" said the Captain. Then, within a blink of an eye, the Title on the book which once read "The Study of Imagination", is now blood red, and reads "Dead Man's Secrets". The captain hesitated for a moment, and looked at his crew, and said "And I have no intention on selling it." Thus begins, the Dead Man's Secrets |
