Note: The country is separated into three different provinces, so it is important that you read the information on this map to help understand what is below. General Information: (Applies to all.) Country Number: Thirty Five Color: Light blue. Physical Description: The first glance at Allian, you would see a relatively normal human, save their respective builds, fitting each of their general occupations. But each has a necklace, a simple bit of twine, forming a loop, and then seeming to meld into the pure obsidian crystal it carries. These necklaces are no petty thing. They cannot be separated from the wearer if he does not will it, and will not fall idly. They carry an ancient spell that allows an Allian to sheet themselves with heavy flexible stone, impenetrable to anything less than a powerful blunt force impact, such as a stroke of a battle hammer or otherwise. If broken, the wearer is sometimes subject to some force, but usually the coating simply cracks away, the amulet losing its sheen, the spell broken. Some adepts have grown so skilled that they become entirely of stone, able to morph as well as withstand much more than a hammer strike. In this 'stoneform', a typical Allian will have decreased senses of hearing and touch, but incredible multiplied strength and endurance, as well as extreme resistance to heat. Background Info: Long ago, the Allian held the very same land they do today, prospering off its gifts, reaping the benefits the calm sunlight and steady rains that created crops off no sort seen before. Days were good. The empire stood around the Country of Ciwi, a people who's powerful magic was used to help the Allians as the Allian mutually helped them. But some ten thousand years ago, the Ciwi went mad, culling the country and unleashing a power that destroyed everything in its path, creating freak storms, acid rain, random gale force winds, and causing land masses to shift violently, creating volcanoes and craters, smashing plains into peaks, and decimating the landscape. The peoples then separated into three very different provinces, evolving to what was left; Elk'nor, land of the seamen; Zeth'el, land of the brutes; and Pi'etl, land of the scholars. Province: Elk'nor Leader(s) Name: King Retwer is the king, but he does nothing to enforce his power. Barons and Dukes and otherwise really pieces of land under whatever rules they choose. Province Description: The province of Elk'nor is primarily plains, with spotted forests in many places. Most cities are port based, but there are still quite a few in the land, around mines or by rivers. Species Type: Mainly mercantile and defensive, the navy is lazy and will probably respond worse to an attack then if the pirates banded together. Still, both forces are of some value... Population: Around 19'000. Army: Naval forces: Merchant boats: There is an unaccounted number of these civilian boats, which can be seized and used to transport soldiers or weapons in times of war. Pirate ships: Around 70 of this ships exist, and they are under no control by the government, instead raiding to their own pleasure and armed with anything from catapults to stolen cannons and ballistae. Frigates: About 50 of these boats are in the navy, holding their own with about twenty archers strong each. They make are designed for strategic missions of taking out opposing crew members, killing leaders, or just destroying vital portions of a boat. Destroyers: Each of these 60 ships carries two catapults and a ballista, to optimize destructive power. Stone Cruisers: These ships, numbering only twenty, are actually made of stone, floating as defiance to the laws of physics. They smash through wooden boats like a boot through a twig, and carry hull-mounted ballistae to smash through enemies at a close range. The Netherstar: This ship is at command of the navy, boasting a steel and stone hull and rows of catapults that simulate an arrow storm with much more destructive projectiles. Land forces: Royal Guard: Probably the only still skilled an in shape government controlled soldiers, the Royal Guard consists of 200 swordsmen with leather armor and an obsidian blade, and 50 rangers with camouflage cloaks and longbows that fire obsidian tipped arrows. All troops carrying obsidian bladed knives. Resources: Fish; sea plants; wood; various igneous rocks, especially obsidian; raided materials of any sorts. Province: Zeth'el Leader(s) Name: The province is separated into several different clans, each led by their own leader(s). So none. Country Description: The country itself is most wide plains, with sparse forest scattered across the landscape. The land is suitable to grow crops, but the clans raid other countries instead. Species Type: Aggressive and violent. Population: 12'000 Army: The army just consists of at least 10'000 soldiers armed with anything from maces to battleaxes and armored with whatever they have, be it mail or leather or otherwise. Resources: Wood; raided materials. Other: They are raiders, attacking other countries to steal materials, goods and weapons. Province: Pi'etl Leader(s) Name: Banor Kr'to Leader(s) Title: High executive chief Country Description: The land of Pi'etl looks much like the other provinces, trees and plains, boring as always. Except; the province is saturated with technology, with aqueducts, dams, huge bridges and all sorts of innovations. Here, fields are plowed and sown with seeds in days instead of weeks. Species Type: Peaceful and diplomatic. Population: 8'000 Army: The land army consists of about 500 elite soldiers who are fantastically skilled with both their obsidian shortswords and repeating crossbows, and about 60 mobile platforms that are compatible with any number of mounted weapons such as catapults or cannons. The naval forces are the same deal, usually running weaponless, but capable of easily upgrading to powerful contraptions. Resources: Wood, fish, various igneous rocks, explosive powders and other sorts of chemicals. Other: Province name is pronounced 'Yetal'. Province: The Netherlands Province Description: The Netherlands exist in a sort of twilight; enough light to see, but so little that things are blurry and eerie. The land is cratered and burned with the impact of meteorites and comets, along with freak lightning strikes. Acid rains are highly concentrated, and really can burn through most materials with prolonged contact. The air is smoggy and toxic, causing symptoms quite like black lung. Many craters riddle the land, some too deep to imagine their height. The same goes for mountains, higher than most in the land, with a fair share of volcanic ones. Some of these volcanoes are close enough that their eruptions have created valuable rock formations near to the provinces, but some have spurted pyroclastic flows that did a lot more in the way of devastation, and a lot less in the way of useful things. Resources: Rocks. Also, the ground is highly saturated with magical essence, but that is unknown and un-useful at this time. Edited by Bonzai, Jul 31 2009, 03:09 AM.
