December 1846 Officials in the Prussian government are concerned about the increasingly liberal path their nation is taking. The new Polish laws, lighter restrictions on the press, and other liberal measures have provoked strong reactions from hard line conservatives. Some local authorities have ignored the censorship decrees altogether and have continued to harass opposition newspapers, while officers in the Prussian Army have openly expressed disdain for the Polish recruitment. |

The King invited some of the opposition to him, and explained that he had been blocking a number of even more liberal steps which the Liberal Rhinelanders had wanted to make. These included the spreading of the same criminal code all over Prussia, based on the code Napoleon. And a number of smaller religious tinted laws. |

February 1847 A number of prominet lawyers argued that it would be better for Prussian law if there was one uniform code in Prussia, instead of the two which exist now. The Old Prussian one in Brandenburg, and the more liberal one based on the code Napoleon which is active in the Rhineland. |

July 1847 The King firmly blocked the matter. Making it clear he agreed that no such thing as a Napoleonic code should be implemented on Prussia. The King, together with his foreign minister have been busy making laws about various church matters, even tough they are facing strong opposition from minorities in Prussia, such as the Catholics. |
