January 1843 It is becoming obvious to Prussian officials that there is no real way of maintaining order and fighting crime in Prussia. The local gendarmes are undermanned and rely on help of the military if anything big happens. The military who's task is fighting wars is ill equipped or trained to help properly. The Ministry of Justice has launched a investigation to see how much a proper police force would cost. |

March 1843 It has been decided that every city will be in charge of their police. The Prussian government will provide the cities with extra funds to make sure that every city has a effective and efficient police force. Starting costs will be 1,000,000 pounds sterling, and after that 500,000 per year. There will be a investigation to see where the money will come from. |
