July 1842 The unrest in Poland has worried the king and his Ministers. High ranking Polish nobles have been invited to Berlin to speak to the Prussia authorities about what might be done to remedy the problems of the Polish. Prussia has shown intrest in allocating a certain amount of money to the area, so that any war damages can be repaired. There was however no direct fighting on Prussian soil, and as such the Prussia goverment is unsure how large these damges will be. |

August 1842 The council of Poland met in Berlin with the Monarch and his ministers this month. The Chief Minister of Prussia made it very clear to the Poles, that they were now no longer Poles, but inhabitants of the Kingdom of Prussia. They have the same rights as any free Prussian citizen, and will not be held back in any way or form because of their Polish ancestry. Thus the Poles cannot expect Prussia to either stimulate the Polish language or culture. Even tough it was made very clear that no attempts would be made to destroy the Polish language, heritage or culture. So if the Poles wished to educate thier children in Polish ways and tongue that is fine, as long as children are also tought that they are inhabitants of Prussia, and are also tough to speak German. Also the Prussian Government had made 3,000,000 Thalers available for the compensation of lost or destroyed property because of the war. |

September 1843 The Polish Counsel came with a proposition that 'Polish' units be raised within the Prussian Army. This they argued would give them recognition for the part they played in the war of the Grand Coalition. The Polish are well renown for their skill at arms, and the Prussian General Staff said they would look into the proposal. There is certain opposition throughout the higher echelons that this may lead to more Polish nationalism, and that the Polish unit would not be reliable. |

December 1844 After much deliberation, the Prussian army decided to raise two 'Polish' Regiments. They will be part of 20. Infaterie Divsion. These two Regiments will be raised in Polish parts of the Kingdom, and will be led by Polish officers. This was part of the policy of the Prussian government to show goodwill towards to Polish minority in Prussia. And it was hoped that this would lead to better co-operation between the Polish and German inhabitants of Prussia, stimulating mutual trust, and giving the Poles faith in the Prussian government that they would be treated like equals. |

Polish will be added to the ciriculum in Polish Prussia for primary and secondary schools (in Prussia's Polish Provinces). The recent concessions to the Council are all part of a plan to win the trust of the Poles, so that their acceptace into Prussia will be more smooth. Edited by Prussia, May 13 2010, 08:09 AM.

March 1845 Prussia has decided to give Political asylum to any Poles fleeing Russian prosecution. Centres to admit them will be set up along the frontier. This is a response to a number of Polish poets and writers who have come to Prussia bringing with them some terrible tales of Russian prosecution. Edited by Prussia, May 12 2010, 09:32 PM.

March 1846 A large number of the nobles who have been part of the Council of Poland have been arrested following their implications in the planned revolt. It is starting to dawn on the Prussian officials that they had chosen the wrong people for the Council of Poland, the Nobles never properly made clear what the Poles wanted and have been looking after their own intrests. The places which will come free because of the arrests will be filled up with Mayors, Polish Business men, and university heads and teachers. It is hoped that these people will more equally be able to represent the will of the Poles so that future co-operation between the Prussian State and its Polish subjects is possible. |
