![]() Black marks paved roads, Red marks railroads The estimated cost for the railroads will be 3,750,000 Pound Sterling. The railroads will run on a 5Ft 6inch,5 gauge. The roads will cost a estimeted 1,875,000 Pound Sterling. The time span for the construction is ten years. The goverment can immediatly invest 1,050,000 pound into the project from a sale which will be finished at the end of this year. (Still in negotiation, will be confirmed.) Toghether with 3,583,330 Sterling over the span of ten years, which will be saved from goverment expediture (other). three percent over ten years = 3,583,330 The goverment can pay for 4,633,330 Pound Sterling The total cost is 5,625,000 Pound Sterling 991,670 Pound Sterling will have to be borrowed from banks. The Railroads will be built and run by a new company 'Preussische Bahn' this company will be owned by the goverment. And maby in the future sold. All money borrowed for the railroad construction has been paid back. The work is a bit behind scedule, and more funds will be needed eventualy. |

June 1842 A Railroad linking the Ruhr to Antwerp is being constructed. The Prussian part of the railroad will be eighty kilometers long devided into four seperate railroads to the Belgian boarder. The railroad will take a year and a half to build and will be built on Belgian Gauge track. Costs: 1,050,000 Thaler |

November 1843 The 'Iron Rhine' was opened on November 25th. The railroad would carry goods form the developing Ruhr area to the harbour of Antwerp. It is expected that these rail roads will boost the economy of Prussia and Belgium significantly. |

![]() Big Red are new Railroads, and Big Black are new Paved Roads 1844 The Prussian government has initiated the second phase of the infrastructure expansion program. With more roads and rail roads being built. Which will, also be constructed in Hannover for no cost to the local government. (OOC: If you guys decided that this was no good, let me know) Total costs are estimated at 5,000,000 Sterling. 1,710,000 Sterling can be invested immediately with the government providing the remaining 3,300,000 over the next year. 3,000,000 has been paid, just 300,000 sterling remains to be paid. May 1846 Due to some delays, and errors made in the calculation of costs, an additional 1,750,000 Thaler is needed for the construction of the railroads. This additional sum has been paid from the special fund. |

February 1847 After two years of construction, the Iron Rhine II has been finished, a line linking the Ruhr, and Rhineland to Holland. The line meets up with the Dutch end near Arnhem. |

May 1847 The Royal Prussian Post has decided that it will build a telegraph network troughout the country. It will be able to pay most of the costs from revenues already being earned, but a large sum (2,500,000) of money has been recieved from the government. It is expected that all major cities will be linked with telegraph in 1850. |
