Krupp A Rhineland steel, artillery and small arms producer. February 1847 The Reichsflotte has been looking for a company which could provide the arms for its ships, most importantly cannon. When it started looking, they were approached by a man named Krupp, Alfred. He showed the commission his works in Essen, and a 1000kg flawless Iron Ingot. They returned most impressed. Krupp said he would be willing to build artillery but he would need a loan to get a big factory started, preferably near his other works in Essen. He was granted the 1,125,000 Thaler he would need.
