Three ships have embarked with emigranys whom wish to begin new lives in the colony of Southern Australia. The ship Zebra, captained by Dirk Meinerts Hahn, leaving from Hamburg and carrying one hundred and ninety-eight passengers. The ship Bengalee, captained by Thomas Hamlin, leaving from Hamburg and carrying 10 cabin passengers and 23 other immigrants. The Bengalee is primarily a supply ship for those whom have formerly left - the South Australian and Solway The ship Prince George, captained by Frederick Bigger Chilcott, leaving from Hamburg and heading to Plymouth, carrying 189. The ship Catharina, captained by Peter Schacht, leaving from Hamburg and destined to Port Adelaide. It will carry 125. These ships will be escorted into the Atlantic by the newly built Smaschellring, 3rd Rate ship of the line. They are religious refugees sponsored by George Fife Angas and under the leadership of Pastor August Kavel. |
