Serbia, 1906 - Population: 4,538,592 (+68.1%) - GDP: $4,330,051,678 (+65.9%) - GDP per capita: $954 Serbia's union with Montenegro and its conquest of the Sanjak, Kosovo and much of Macedonia resulted in significant demographic changes during 1905. This success has only spurred pan-Slavic sentiments and Serbian nationalism, leading to greater interest in liberating the "unredeemed" territories still held by other powers. There is some concern over outstanding issues related to Albania, which have the potential to drive a wedge between Serbia and Italy, and over the failure of Serbia to sign a formal peace treaty with the Ottomans. |

Serbia, 1907 - Population: 4,299,627 (-5.3%) - GDP: $4,173,368,647 (-3.62%) - GDP per capita: $971 The Serbian economy continues to grow steadily. This year's nominal decrease in population and GDP is a result purely of the dissolution of the union with Montenegro, which left over 300,000 people outside the new Serbian borders. |
