August 1900 The War Ministry has declared that changes in the organisation of the artillery force are to be conducted. Currently, Serbian artillery is divided into 5 regiments of 9 batteries each. Not only are such regiments large and unwieldy, but Serbia currently lacks both manpower and arty pieces to equip those regiments. As such, the War Ministry has decided to divide the current regiments into 10 regiments of 4 batteries each. With each battery containing 8 pieces, the total strength of the Serbian artillery is to be 320 pieces. The regiments are to be divided as follows: 2 regiments of heavy/siege artillery 4 regiments of field guns 2 regiments of field howitzers 2 regiments of mountain howitzers |
