September, 1911: Relations with the United States seem to have gone unharmed as understanding has been reached after controversial newspaper articles were published. The German Ambassador has had favorable things to say since his meetings with American officials. Berlin reinforces it is not a state purchase, just a state guarantee it will not allow the company to fold and will back the investors. |

April, 1912: Oil from Mesopotamia continues to be anticipated as the Germans construct massive oil rigs to begin extraction. The drilling has proved to be no easy task and requires a lot of special knowledge that must be imported from outside of the region. The Baghdad railway remains under construction with over 17,000 workers from all over working to complete the span. The blasting in the Taurus Mountains remains the largest obstacle as the skilled labor, heavy tools, and explosives are all being imported. The tedious process of boring through these mountains is taking much longer than expected despite the well organized German effort. The railway is however being built both from Turkey and Baghdad as well as a connection to Adana, meaning it will probably be the last gap to close.

October, 1912: Berlin has taken notice to vast expansions in British shipbuilding capacity being put in motion despite being at a conference to lower tensions and with naval limitations as a potential result. No official comment was yet released by the government however. Some officials suspect it may be a political move as it is being funded by money 'freed up' by reducing actual procurement, thus keeping it still towards long term military purpose. |

January, 1913: The Kaiser reportedly enjoyed much of his stay in the Baltic Sea with his cousin, the Tsar. While their personal relationship remains decent, the recent ratification of the Entente has failed to allow this to carry over into national foreign relations. |

May, 1913: The Redl Affair between Russia and Austria has sparked a response from the German Right Wing. A review is being called for in the German government and military services to seek out foreign spies. The more radical proponents even went so far as to call for population exchanges, particularly with the Russians, where the Volga Germans would be expatriated back to Germany and Russians sent back to Russia to seperate the two peoples. The government has made no official responses but is clearly not disappointed over a wedge being driven between St. Petersburg and Vienna. |

10 May, 1913: German relations with the Russian Empire are being strained by their seeking to profit from the Balkan War and their stalling of peace proceedings. Unrelated and unwarrented sanctions upon the German-friendly Ottoman State is causing tension. The Foreign Office and Naval Office have rebuffed Russian claims of a "German Black Sea Fleet" stating that the Tsar is merely running wild with very clearly sarcastic and jestful statements used to prove a point (that German interests within the Black Sea are just as if not more substantial than Russian interests outside of it, thus the Straits should be totally closed, and Russia's one sided restrictions are as ludicrous as the "German Black Sea Fleet."). It does however dampen the mood as Russia wildly claims Germany seeks to shell St. Petersburg and seize the Black Sea.

September, 1913: German relations with China have greatly improved after private discussions and agreements over the Tsingtao concession. Relations with France have begun to strain after private warnings not to assist the Austrian Empire should they come under attack by the Russian Army. German-Russian relations remain uneasy and conflicted but cordial as the Austrian-Russian conflict progresses. |
