March, 1912: Paul Richard Heinrich Blasius has been declared the head of the new Kaiser Wilhelm Institute of Aeronautics. Blasius has made significant contributions to the field including boundary layer mathematics and applications of the Reynold's number to resistance in smooth pipes.

A colleague of Mr. Albert Einstein at Humboldt University, Max Bodenstein, is a leader in the field of physical chemistry and has agreed to work part time at the Institute. Walter Nernst is happy to have his assistance in the physiochemical department.

April, 1912: The success of Melitta has led to a drastic increase in coffee consumption in Germany. The filters and pots made by the company have greatly increased the popularity of the drink. It has surged past German tea imports much to the joy of German businesses growing coffee in her colonies. Kaiser Wilhelm himself has even begun a new found liking to it serving it at his receptions with esteemed guests.

May, 1912: Otto Hahn has been made the head of the Radioactivity Department of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute of Chemistry.

June, 1912: The Kaiser Wilhelm Institute has published several findings proving its usefulness time again and justifying its funding. Alfred Wegener proposes a fully formulated theory of continental drift. Max von Laue suggests using crystal lattices to diffract X-rays. Walter Friedrich and Paul Knipping diffract X-rays in zinc blende.

15 June 1912: The Kaiser Wilhelm Institute has added several new schools over the course of 1912 to expand its research and accomplishments into new fields.

Biology - Berlin
Biochemistry - Martinsreid
Coal Research - Mülheim
Occupational Physiology - Berlin

The German Museum of Hygiene has also been opened to the public.

January, 1913: January was a busy year in the world of German football and the arts. Nordiska Berlin, TSV Buchbach, SV Falkensee, BC Hartha, TSV Hirschaid, FV Lauda, TuS Bar Kochba, and FSV Oggersheim have all been formed and will play the upcoming football season in various German Football leagues.

The Naturwissenschaften has produced the first monthly subscription of its run. Founded by the Kaiser Wilhelm Society, it is a peer reviewed scientific journal for German learned societies.

Museum Kunstpalast forum has been opened in Düsseldorf.

February, 1913: Luna Park has opened as a popular amusement park near Hamburg. One of the largest parks in Germany it features over 5 'sectors' with attractions for all ages.

The German National Library celebrates its first birthday. Its task, unique in Germany, is to collect, permanently archive, comprehensively document and record bibliographically all German and German-language publications from 1913 on, foreign publications about Germany, translations of German works, and the works of German-speaking emigrants published abroad and make them open to the German public.

March, 1914: Oskar Vogt has founded the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute of Brain Research in Berlin. The KWI has also founded a school of Art History in Rome, Italy despite the raging war going on.
