The March 7, 2009 comments from ‘Zeus’ caused me to wonder why these comments at this time?? Another question was who could Zeus be and why was he/she hiding their identity when posting these allegations? I love a good puzzle so I started with the pseudonym of ZEUS. From an Internet search: Zeus is a Greek mythical supreme ruler of Mount Olympus and of the Pantheon of gods who resided there. Being the supreme ruler he upheld law, justice and morals, and this made him the spiritual leader of both gods and men. Zeus was a celestial god, and originally worshiped as a weather god by the Greek tribes. He has always been associated as being a weather god, as his main attribute is the thunderbolt, he controlled thunder, lightning and rain. In Homer's epic poem the Iliad he sent thunderstorms against his enemies. The name Zeus is related to the Greek word dios, meaning "bright". His other attributes as well as lightning were the scepter, the eagle and his aegis (this was the goat-skin of Amaltheia). As the supreme deity, Zeus oversaw the conduct of civilized life. According to legend, Metis, the goddess of prudence, was the first love of Zeus. At first she tried in vain to escape his advances, but in the end succumbed to his endeavor, and from their union Athena was conceived. Zeus was warned that Metis would bear a daughter, whose son would overthrow him. On hearing this, Zeus swallowed Metis, the reason for this was to continue to carry the child through to the birth himself. Hera (his wife and sister) was outraged and very jealous of her husband's affair, also of his ability to give birth without female participation. To spite Zeus she gave birth to Hephaestus parthenogenetically (without being fertilized) and it was Hephaestus who, when the time came, split open the head of Zeus, from which Athena emerged fully armed. Zeus also used his charm and unprecedented power to seduce those he wanted. I then looked at the date of March 7, 2009. What transpired in the township at about that date to prompt Zeus to post his/her first and only post since joining the forum in November, 2008? This post was written smack dab in the middle of the ‘RESOLUTION FIASCO’. The flurry of e-mails between the trustees can be read on the blog on the Home page of 411. Here are the major points: • December 15, 2008: A resolution document was prepared by the township Fiscal Officer indicating that a resolution passed when, in fact, it did not. Trustee Likley voted yes and Trustee Sims voted no which caused the vote to be no. • February 18, 2009: During the County Commissioners’ annexation review meeting, this error was verbally corrected and confirmed by attorney Tom Karris. • Trustee Sims instructed the township’s hired attorney Al Schrader to prepare a new resolution. (Keep in mind that the Prosecutor’s office advised Mrs. Evans that it is not legal for a trustee to ‘order’ the F/O to ‘change’ anything. The board of trustees would have to meet and prepare a separate resolution to amend the first.) • On March 6, 2009, Mrs. Evans hand delivers the corrected document to the F/O of the Village of Seville. Trustee Sims waits at the Seville office and confronts Mrs. Evans to verify that Mrs. Evans has done her job. • March 7, 2009: Trustee Kratzer sends an e-mail to the mayor of the Village of Seville regarding Trustee Sims’ confrontation with Mrs. Evans. • March 7, 2009: Zeus adds a comment to the 411 Zeta Board. • March 9, 2009: Mrs. Sims writes an e-mail addressing her intolerance of Mr. Kratzer’s accusations and maliciousness. Now, the message Zeus posts on the Zeta Board is extremely specific in content. It presents information that only an ‘insider’ would know such as payment of federal and state taxes, bills not being paid on time resulting in a very low credit rating, a lien being placed on township property, etc., etc., etc. Then, Zeus’s final statement: “It’s time that Kratzer stop using his position as trustee to protect his friends as well as promote his own development agenda. The line between the township’s general welfare and Kratzer (sic) personal interests is becoming very blurred.” How can this not be one of the trustees? I don’t think it would be Trustee Kratzer and I don’t think Trustee Likley would be this angered and petulant. Therefore, this leaves only one trustee who most probably calls herself ZEUS. |
