This is a wrestling discussion thread, not specific to any promotion. I've always kinda wondered about this and I know there's at least one person on site who can answer this question. Every wrestling fan, no matter if he's into the good guys or the bad guys, hardcore or pure wrestling, high flyers or powerhouses, always has one wrestler who they're either ashamed to admit they like, or that nobody else likes. So who is that wrestler that you hate to love, or are ashamed to love watching? For me, there's three that I really like, despite what other people think of them. The first is Kevin Nash. Big Sexy has always been one of my favourite wrestlers to watch, and while a lot of people claim that he's over the hill, or shouldn't be wrestling, I still find him very entertaining on the mic, and in the ring for sure. Next, is someone who until very recently, I hated with a passion. And that someone is TNA's Cody Deaner. At first, I though he was just some jobber out of god knows where, and I despised his gimmick. In fact, I still do despise his gimmick, but having actually watched him, I've come to realize he's a very solid performer. His movements in the ring perfectly match the gimmick he's trying to portray. He doesn't make any mistakes, and he's fantastic at selling moves. He might be limited because of his gimmick, but at least he's fun to watch. I love his hat theatrics when he goes up to the top rope XD. Finally, I tend to get mixed reactions on this one. Shane McMahon. Normally, I would say that none of the McMahons belong inside a wrestling ring on anything remotely close to a frequent basis, but for some reason I've always loved to watch Shane, whether he's heel or face. Just the fact that somebody like Shane, who would never need to wrestle in order to financially support himself, would get in the ring (and out of it ;)) and do the things that he's done just to entertain the fans, truly has a passion for the craft. Shane is also the only person I have ever seen in the states who's managed to do crazier shit than Mick Foley or Jeff Hardy, which is certainly saying something, considering Mick & Jeff have practically killed themselves over the years. He's always been a solid performer no matter who he's facing, and I loved his matches with Kurt Angle & Steve Blackman. Plus, his dancing around always makes me laugh. |
