This is my first try at animating in forever, i used a video on youtube, his arms are messed up and his body is a little stiff (http://yourimg.in/m/ywe6j94.gif)

^ Well that's not too encouraging.

It's great that you're learning but I suggest you go for basic movements first before adding in smoke effects and whatnot. Try to learn movements such as walking, a simple punch, a jog or something easy. If you can get the hang of this it'll be easier for you to animate harder things.

The things that you'll need to learn are things such as easing(there's ALOT of tutorials everywhere and I'm pretty sure you've already read one), working on moving all or almost all of the joints so it doesn't seem too static. Like I said, just work on movements and such first and you'll be alright.

Other than that, good work and keep practicing.

if u want to make a good run u should use a line and not use smoke effects of that type

I couldn't find any good smoke on droidz an I will add a line instead, I didnt think about it when I made it
