It's a shame Fallout isn't multiplayer.

I just got Fallout three and all its expansions a couple weeks ago. I love it...especially the Operation Anchorage add-on.

It's a good game, but sooo poorly made. I realize it's meant for computers, but even on the computer it's still glitchy, etc. They could put in just a slight bit more effort into bug testing before they release the game. Hell, New vegas had SOOOOO many exploits due to developer stupidity when it first came out. For example the Primm casino chips could be turned in for caps, but the chips would never leave your inventory...so you could get infinite money by continuously turning in the chips. That's patched now (Although you cans till do it by deleting your xbox's cache), but that's a pretty amazing glitch for a "finished" product.

Oh, and there's a glitch that STILL isn't patched that will allow you to become max leveled before you leave the first city in New Vegas. So, hypothetically (although i've actually done this myself), let's say the level cap was 30. You could start a new game, get to level 30 before leaving goodsprings, choose the perks you want (you'll be able to keep any perk above a level 4 requirement), leave the area and select the option for resetting your skills/stats, and be able to choose 30 MORE levels of perks. I don't know about the expansion packs, but I'm fairly certain it would still work. And then you'd get 45 levels to work with =DD

Daaamn..

Well i have experienced some annoying glitches. I found out i wanted to do 50 quests without saving...
Then suddently i just froze and fell through the ground... I was almost done too.. xD

But, yeah i heard from a friend that New Vegas had so many glitches when it was given out.

And i only plan on buying New Vegas aswell as Mw3.. :P But, i am thinking through it. Should it buy it or what? :D

Nah, don't buy Mw3. It's not worth it. You can probably get a used Mw2 for 10 or 20 dollars...it's the same game as Mw3, just with slightly worse graphics. Slightly.

It's a shame Fallout isn't multiplayer.
i am bumping this thread for a really good reason....

now then multiplayer would be very difficult if not impossible to implement into the fallout formula. The game's world is basically at your mercy, a good part of the game is free lancing and looting, with players that could kill you your stuff would be up for grabs, unique weapons, valuable items etc, it would constantly be in jeopardy IF they stuck with the formula and implemented multiplayer. the game is meant to be basically a baby you are looking after, nothing moves forward without you helping those in need or robbing them blind and burning down their house and using the cannibal perk to eat their significant other. Fallout is a near perfect game in my opinion cause the music is spectacular(not top notch, KH and AC are the best of the best of the modern score imo) you can highly customize your char(gender, race, face, and skills), the story is interesting and the line between good and evil is blurred even more due to the chaotic times, the world is at your mercy and the action is great. bloody mess gives you much entertaining dismemberment with gunshots or sledge bludgeons. i have played fallout games for over 1000 hours now, both fallout nv and 3 and their dlc, im waiting for the final dlc for nv that brings the courier's past full circle, and i played like 50 dif types of chars, 14 for fo3 and the rest for nv. i am an expert cause of my experience and frequent trips to the fallout wiki, i even mess around the geck and make minor mods and change game settings for fun, in fallout the re-playability is 1 of its redeeming features, with random encounters, certain quests cancelling out the chance to do others, and the big big big world, you can start so many chars do dif things and each play threw will be unique. and when it gets old there are mods for even more content, i been on the nexus forums and sites playing with mods, some amazing shit like the new vegas bounties mod for fnv, it was funner than dlc, but i love the nv dlc, ALL of em, there is limitless possibility, mods make this clearer and keep the game from getting stagnate when players like me have played it for 100s of hours and consistency becomes more evident. The structure of the game is chaos for multiplayer, see in games like halo or cod they are radically dif from fallout in the sense that the player isn't the ultimate lifeform, the world can still move forward or crumble whether you live or die, in fallout everyone is at your mercy, and in cod from what i understand you are somebody's bitch basically, same thing with halo, you are a soldier, which is just an armed bitch with dignity. I never played halo or cod but 'cause the player is a soldier and whatnot, im guessing you are being ordered around with no other choice, in fallout you LET yourself get ordered for rewards or cause you wanna get in their pants or w/e. being ordered around you cant loot so if you die you have little to lose, in a multyplayer setting this is ideal, in fallout people are carrying more than guns; clothes/armor medicine, money, and loot from a raider camp, someone snipes you and you lose it, that would be bad and against the games play structure.

XD. I didn't mean multiplayer by something competitive where people could kill each other online. More like the multiplayer exemplified in Borderlands or Fable (<= ugh), where someone can join in your world (a friend, either over the internetz or co-op) and help you complete quests etc, but can't change your game for you. They could either set it up to where you use a generic stock character based off of the player you're joining, or load your save character (with some level limits of course). The only major problems I see with that setup is the companion's possibility of killing someone quest related, or picking up unique items from the other's world. It wouldn't be that hard to prevent both of those by not enabling the ability to pick up special/quest items, and making the new character only able to knock important NPCs unconscious, or do no damage at all to them. Although I suppose he could still ruin your rep with someone by turning people hostile. I'm sure there'd be a way to prevent that if the game developers put their heads to it. To balance the new companion in the world, enemies could be made stronger to combat two player characters.

But by multiplayer I meant mostly having the ability to get a friend to play with you, just for kickz, Like Borderlands, where someone can drop in and drop out of your world, only affecting it by giving you some support while fighting or helping you to spot quest items and stuff. Actually, in Borderlands the support players are able to pick up quest related items, but they're given to the main player.

i messed around with enuf geck settings to know thats considerably monotones, to the point where programmers would skimp out without proper motivation from thier bosses by floods of email/calls/etc the gameburo engine is considerably old and it is a job and a half to do that. i never tried borderlands but that multyplayer seems....more suitable for fallout...still strange though..
Roji here is an elaborate example of how lazy the fallout programmers are: if you have the quest active "you gotta shoot em in the head" and you complete anchorage dlc, and get the unbreakable t51b, once its in your inventory you automatically complete the quest as if you got the t51b from the base game. the reason the game confuses these is really simple and stupid, i laughed out loud when i saw it. The t51b from anchorage shares the same mesh as the base game, but a new texture and stats were slapped on it. HOWEVER the script for the base game t51b which literally auto-completes the quest when it enters your inventory stayed on the retexed t51b. they changed the stats and textures but didn't take off the script. Its SUCH a small plugin to make to fix that too...hell they released the geck so you can edit and create game content. but that one is less known. more people focus on obvious shit like the vikki and vance bottlecap press which was hilarious....

haha, that's hilarious. I wonder how good fallout would be if the developers put all they had into it and actually challenged themselves. It's a great game, but the little glitches like that T51-b thing degrade it.

Btw, the combat armor with the balaclava from the anchorage simulation is sexy. I used the gary 23 glitch to bring it out into the main game on the console version. 9,999,999 or something item hp....holy shit. I R indestructible....or at least my armor is...

gary23 glitch...love it i wear the sim armor and use sim chinese assault rifles(i used the guass rifle and a save load technique to make sure each mfcell was knocking down a chink and then pickpocketed them stuff with extra weapons from the quarter master.) i walked out with like 50000 556 rounds,10mm rounds, shotgunshells, and flammerfuel, and 5mm ammo....exploring was so fun (: i also leveled up to 30 from the sim(by putting the game on very hard and killing chinks with the ak on a crate that protected me on all sides except the one where the enemies spawn in....continuously) getting to level 30 is a bitch in fallout 3 unless you constantly kill raiders at gang hideouts on very hard. i played fallout 3 on ps3 and fell in love with it....then i got a decent cpu and could play it on lowest settings(still not half bad) and tried mods and the game was....BETTER. fallout is best experienced on a high end computer. mods are amazing....and there are decent mods of every type including porn cause of rule 34...

I <3 Jingwei's shocksword. I actually went through the trouble of knocking it out of the guy's hands and picking it up to get the simulation version of it. That thing is fun, especially with chinese stealth armor since it still does the lightning effect on the blade...XD. V.A.T.S with the sword makes for good cinematics, especially if you perform the disintegrating animation on the killing blow.

I had the xbox version, so modding was limited to altering item hp, my S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats, and item quantities. Just to experiment I upped the item HP of a normal chinese assault rifle to way above average. Increased the damage to absolutely silly levels O.o...Killed a Super Mutant Behemoth with one bullet. XD

I haven't been maxed leveled on F3 before. I didn't play it long enough to. New Vegas I've got a few max leveled characters though, and I exploited the goodsprings glitch to get max leveled at the start of the game and have the extra perks since I reset my character upon leaving. Speaking of new vegas, I was disappointed with the story unless I made an independent vegas, or sided with Mr. House...The NCR and the Legion weren't very satisfying to support.

and yeah, the porn mods are normally the first to come out.
