It was a quiet day in the East District of Leviathan. People and Furries alike were actually peacefully going about their business. Some people walked past each other and you could see the busy inner city just blending to become suburb from District E 12. Which is exactly where a traveling musician in a red tunic and brown traveling cloak stood. His guitar case lay open on the ground in front of him; random bits of Leviathan's currency had been tossed in by walkers by.

The travelers fingers moved fluently across the fret board as he seemed to be one with the music he played. Passers by couldn't help but be lost, as if under a spell of some sort. The weather also seemed effected by this travelers playing. When he played a happier tune; the sun shone brightly, but as his notes got lower the sky became overcast with dark gray clouds. As a few people began to lose themselves, the musician looked up.

His eyes were a deep gray with a green tinge to them. He smiled as he saw the people enjoying his music. Musically, he had always had a different sound then his companion who was absent from this particular performance. He closed his eyes again and his head dropped a bit as he went back to focusing on the music he was playing. His chestnut brown hair bounced a little as he bobbed his head with the guitar's notes.

As he reached the end of his final song of the day; he picked up speed on the instrument. He strummed harder and faster and the wind became violent and harsh. He strummed three more times, the last being his hardest yet and a lighting bolt cracked from the sky and zapped the ground in front of him. He stopped; panting from the effort of playing that fast. The people all clapped; although astonished by the lightning bolt. Most shrugged it off as a coincidence and that was good enough for the traveler.

The seventeen year old picked up the money out of his guitar case before gently placing his guitar inside of it. He closed the case and swung it around onto his back before taking a bow to the people who had stuck around. They applauded his playing before going on their way again. The boy pulled a pair of goggles out of his pocket and put them on before pulling them up onto his forehead. He took a few steps forward, before his stomach grumbled and he stopped for a moment.

"Hmm. I suppose I should get something to eat with the money I made today." He said to himself aloud. He scanned the area, hoping to find a place for food. Sadly he did not find such a thing. He pouted a bit, as he thought about where he could find food and sighed. Oh well.

A chill had stirred Ivan, a rather average built hyena fur wearing a black, heavy peacoat, gloves and pants, as he walked out of a dark passageway, shaking his hands before putting his gloves and hat back on. He buttoned his coat and replaced his revolver to it's proper pocket before glancing in the direction of a street musician.

The audience seemed lost in his song and Ivan would have been too, if not for the fact that this fur recognized magic quite well. His interest was almost lost in the boy before he saw lightning strike down in front of him, narrowly missing a man and drying the grounded metal. The hyena then realized exactly what had happened, this boy had no idea that he was using magic and the instrument seemed to have an effect on the properties of the magic itself. Ivan let out a wide grin and waited for the startled crowd to disperse before approaching the boy, but he thought he'd need a sure fire way to have a conversation with the human. Ivan was a quick thinker and thought up some way to talk to the boy in a mostly private way. He approached the human and waved, smiling.

"Hello, there, I noticed your music and it was very interesting, seemingly commanding the weather. I noticed you looked hungry, I could take you to a rather expensive place, as I have money to spare. I'd like to talk to you about your music. My name, is Ivan Vickroy Denisovich." The hyena extended a hand to shake.

The boy heard someone not far from him begin to approach him. He was a rather important looking Hyena, the kind of person you wouldn't expect to see wander through this part of Leviathan. After all, anyone of real importance usually stayed below the surface. The hyena approached him and began speaking.

""Hello, there, I noticed your music and it was very interesting, seemingly commanding the weather. I noticed you looked hungry, I could take you to a rather expensive place, as I have money to spare. I'd like to talk to you about your music. My name, is Ivan Vickroy Denisovich." The hyena, now established as Ivan extended his hand for the musician to shake. The musician obliged. Not only did the prospect of food intrigue him, but also the fact that someone so important that he used all three names had taken notice in his music raised his curiosity. He shook Ivan's hand.

"I'm Jesse, or Jess for short. Whatever you want to call me, and this," Jesse noted, gesturing toward his guitar, "is Isabelle." He smiled and took a few steps forward. "So you're taking me to get food so you can talk about my music?" The human asked inquisitively. He may have been a bit naive, but there was no way that that was all the hyena wanted out of him. He was well aware of the magic his playing brought forth and he had wondered if Ivan had noticed it.

Ivan turned around and motioned to follow, as he didn't want to draw attention to himself. While walking, he talked to Jesse.

"I'd like to talk to you about what happened, and your instrument. Have you ever taken the transport? It can be quite upsetting to people who havn't and I do want to get to the restaurant fast. It's on the thirty first level down, are you comfortable going down there?" They reached the station and the hyena took out a wallet in front of a ticket machine.

"How do you prefer to travel?"

The station was busy with all sorts of people, coming up from below and going down. The transport would take you to another station, at which you would obtain passage on a rail of sorts. It was an ingenious way to travel and was well maintained. There was hardly ever a news story of a broken railway, or transport tube.

Jesse shrugged and looked at the transport before replying. He didn't really look at Ivan as he spoke.

"I'm a traveling musician. I've traveled in every single way you could in Leviathan. However, before I go thirty whole levels below with you, I need to know, who are you? What do you want with me? Don't think I didn't see through you right away. Are you from the government, or a private military force?" Jesse asked, his tone of voice remaining as calm and carefree as it had been since the beginning.

Ivan pulled two tickets out of the machine and handed one to Jesse.

"Well, Jess, if I were from the government, which I'm not saying I am, wouldn't they just have you kidnapped in your sleep like anyone else? I'm a machinist and researcher trying to figure things out. I only want to talk to you and ask of your help, if I think you can aid me. You're in no danger, whatsoever, and if you see I'm lying, I'll tell you a terrible secret. Deal?" Ivan looked him straight in the eye, frowning slightly. The station bell rang for shuttle fourty and Ivan motioned to follow as he walked away.

Jesse stared in distrust as Ivan began to walk away. His stomach growled again and he sighed.

'Guess I'll take my chances.' The brown haired boy followed behind before getting onto the transport. "So.. An expensive restaurant..?" Jesse asked; his stomach took over and he forgot about asking what he might be helping the hyena with. This idea of expensive food peaked his curiosity. He had never really thought about eating anywhere fancy. He had really focused on quantity over quality and often ended up eating produce from merchants or stews he and his companion cooked themselves.

There was a time years ago that Jesse had had a home. He had lived in the capital at the bottom level. His family had been relatively wealthy, and had gotten him a guitar at a young age. He played it day in and day out. His family had been killed by the government however. Turned out his guitar was more then just a guitar, and they wanted it. Jesse had managed to flee and met up with his now companion. He had left a lot behind and not a day went by where he didn't think about it.

Ivan explained the restaurant on the way down.

"It's a favorite of mine, known for it's desserts, usually fared by the high class. If you don't want to look out of place, I can even buy you clothes." 'Don't be so hospitable, Ivan' "I make quite a sum of money in my work, it's in high demand. I'm a machinist of sorts, who dabbles in magic every once in a while. Currently, I'm undertaking a large project, however I've gotten nowhere. That's where you might come in."

Jesse shook his head at the offer of new clothing. He liked what he wore and had no desire to wear the uncomfortable and fancy looking clothing wealthy people wore. He had worn them as a child and hated it.

"So how exactly can I help you?" He asked as he waited for the transport to reach the destination.
