We hope you will have a long and happy time with us. Like every community, these boards have a set of rules which we ask all members to comply with.

By signing up to these boards you agree to abide by the rules of the board, detailed below. There is no excuse for not knowing them.

Members who contravene these rules may be given a higher warning level, have their posts moderated, be suspended or be completely banned from the boards. The moderator who takes this action will also send you a Private Message or e-mail explaining why. Offending posts or topics are not deleted from the boards -they are moved to a private forum and kept in storage lest they ever need to be used as evidence for any reason.

The Moderators reserve the right to apply warning levels immediately to known troublemakers from other boards. This warning may be relaxed after six months of active good conduct at the discretion of the modrating team.

Any opinions, advice, statements or other information expressed or made available by users of this chat board, are those of the respective author(s) or distributor(s) and not of Vortigern's Cave. Vortigern's Cave neither endorses nor guarantees the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any such information.

Harassing, offensive, vulgar, abusive, hateful or bashing communications - including those aimed at sexual orientation, age, gender, race, religion, national origin, or disability will absolutely not be tolerated.

In particular, members who express insults and intolerance towards ANY other religion will be given a warning.

Watch your language. This site is open to people of all ages to learn and discuss subjects, so keep it clean.

Be kind to others. Please don't forget that you are talking to living feeling human beings! The internet is somewhat dehumanizing, and you may be tempted to say things in cyberspace that you would never say to someone's face.

Don't be afraid to post. A very wise person once said that the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask. Don't be afraid to sound dumb, this site is here for you to learn from others!

Make new posters feel welcome. Remember that newbies may be intimidated to post, and that they can greatly benefit from the old timers on the boards. If you've been around for a while, be sure to introduce yourself to the newbies, and help show them the ropes.

Feel free to lurk. Once you have posted your introduction you don't have to post messages to learn from the board. Some people enjoy reading the posts without posting anything themselves, which is fine.

Keep disagreements civil. You certainly don't have to agree with everyone on the boards, but keep your disagreements on topic. You can argue a point without being nasty.

NO PERSONAL ATTACKS. There is no reason whatsoever for name calling and rudeness. You can argue and disagree while still being respectful of others.

Keep personal disagreements personal. If you disagree or dislike one person in particular, please take your comments to e-mail, where they belong.

Any posts meant to bait others into a personal disagreement unrelated to the board topic will be removed. Any arguments of a personal nature will also be removed.

And please, whenever possible, help steer others away from personal arguments as well!

Follow the rules of general netiquette - no typing ALL IN CAPITALS, try to keep your posts on topic, and please keep 'text speak' (commonly used in text messages on mobile phones) to a minimum so that all members can read your posts.

Don't post multiple times - this is considered SPAM and is rude. Only hit the submit button once for each message you post. Usually duplicate messages will be ignored entirely by web savvy members, and you may not get a response if you post multiple times.

With that job done, we welcome you all to the boards and hope to share many good hours of disscussion with you!
