Short and sweet, logged into Battlelog to find some shit about buying Battlefield Premium which gives you access to the expansions 2 weeks prior to release... Sweet, £39... Bit steep for a few new maps and guns. Plus I already have Back to Karkland from Pre ordering BF3 anyway. So £39 for 4 expansions... Suppose I can get on board with that. Logs into origin... apparently all Im getting is 'Back to karkland' & 'Close Quarters' which Im not really fussed about bit to Call of Duty for me. So am I just reading this like a spaz or do you actually get all 5 expansions for £39.00 and Origin being Origin just giving me half the details ?

The expansions aren't released all at once, so far only BTK and CQ are out. PC and Xbox get them a week earlier than non-premium members on those systems, non-premium PS3 members get them at the same time as premium PC and Xbox users, and then premium PS3 users like me get them another week earlier. Why PS3 is a week early for everything I don't know, but I'm not complaining xD. If you go on BF3 and then click on Premium in the main menu it'll bring up a calendar showing when shit's going to be released and what it is: BTK map pack: already out CQ map pack: already out New knife: already out 10 new weapons in CQ: already out Double XP event: sometime this month July: More new weapons Strategy Guide Double XP event August: Double XP event Premium event Bonus content September: AK map pack Strategy guide Double XP event Premium event October: More new weapons Double XP event Premium event November: More new weapons Double XP event Premium event Bonus content December: Aftermath map pack Strategy guide Double XP event Premium event January: More new weapons Double XP event Premium event February: More new weapons Double XP event Premium event Bonus content March: End Game map pack Strategy guide Double XP event There's also a premium video each month. I don't know if any of this is going to continue past March, likely not (perhaps the videos). When you look at it as a whole you're getting a lot for your money, around 16 new maps, probably 50+ new weapons, loads of double XP events to level up quicker, premium events which could be anything, bonus content which could be weapons, maps, game modes, etc. Go on my profile on BattleLog and go to the assignments to get an idea of the weapons, I've already unlocked most of them. EDIT: Double XP is this weekend, it says in the new ticker at the main menu. Edited by Sir Kieran, Jun 14 2012, 07:03 PM.

Yeah I saw all the calendar just origin itself was throwing me off, only displaying 2 of the 5 items which I read I would be paying for. I realise only those two are out but I don't trust origin lol. The new expansion will probably come out n they will say oh you have to pay again now... I'm pissed off the fact that I paid extra to get the limited edition game, so I got back to karkland early and at a discounted price. Now if I buy this expansion pack I'm basically paying twice for an expansion I already have basically loosing the savings I made buying the limited edition. They should have made a special offer for the limited edition people because now I have to pay the same price as everyone who did not... Way to thank your customers Origin! EA is just pathetic. Steam>Origin. Edited by DafWales, Jun 15 2012, 09:50 AM.

You'll definitely get them when they're released as you download them through the game itself, buying premium basically adds a note to your profile telling the download servers that everything is free and early to you. As for the BTK thing (I got it too) you have to remember that you've gotten it much earlier, others would've had to pay for it separately too. Basically the add-ons been out for so long that it would've been silly for EA not to include it in Premium. Also the limited addition came with the Physical Warfare pack which I don't think you could even get separately, which gave you two weapons (Type 88 LMG and DAO-12). I'm really glad I got Premium as I was actually getting bored with BF3 after spending 100+ hours on the same maps with most shit unlocked and no challenges left, now I'm set until March next year. |

I understand your point but the whole idea for the 'Customer' to buy the limited was that it was basically aimed at BF2 vets. Pay a bit extra on top of the game itself to get early access to the maps they loved, aimed at the more dedicated fans of the BF series. So thats put all the 'Limited Edition' owners into one group who paid extra aswell as the people who just bought the expansion on its own for a little more again. Now the people who did not buy B2K expansion one way or another now get to buy all 5 for £40 so they make a saving as they are not buyng it all seperately. What about the people who did buy the expansion, they have to pay the same as people who did not. Getting less for their money because they bought it earlier... Money grabbing, just EA for you. They suck the life out of all the gaming community and ruin games based on financial gain reasons. |

True, EA are a bunch of shits, just look at how they make you pay to play online by included a one use only code with each game. But, we've had BTK for months now and like most other stuff prices go down in time, so the added value of the Limited Edition decreases so much that including it in Premium wasn't a big decision. At most places the Limited Edition wasn't even that much more costly than the regular version, if they sold that at all, so chances are 90% of people bought it. Most that wouldn't have bought it would've gotten it recently, even after Premium was announced, realising that they'd be paying twice, but that's just saving money by adopting late like most other stuff. |
