Atm I'm playing Amnesia (2nd time around), Limbo, SuperMeatBoy and Minecraft as always. Did you see the custom map me and a mate made? http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1245714-%CD%8F-high-midnight-%CD%8F-puzadvparkmystery-125-500-dls/ |

I play Amnesia and Battlefield Play4Free every now and then, but Amnesia gets boring quickly and I have BF3 on the PS3. Hoping to get a new motherboard, processor, and possibly graphics card soon so I may play more games on PC, probably get MW3 and some other shooters. If you want to add me on Battlelog for BF3 it's either The-Ran24 or Kieran24. Not much use unless they figure out cross-platform multiplayer but we can at least compare stats. |

Added kieron24, Ive not played on bf3 much yet due to not having many people to play with (Very much a co-op multiplayer for me). Yes I did watch your minecraft video ha, Im actually in the middle of making one as well ha. I downloaded the demo of amnesia but shit my pants so never bought it haha. |

The specs are: Case - Coolmaster (Nothing crazy just a mid sized, good air flow case) Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-H67A-USB-B3 CPU - Intel Core i5 2500 3.3GHz 6Mb Cache RAM - 12GB DDR3 1333 (3x4Gb) (Kingston generic stuff which I am going to change for some Corsair sticks soon). Boot HDD - Corsair 60Gb SSD SATAII 2nd HDD - 1Tb 7200-3Gb/s 32Mb SATA II GFX - Radeon HD6850 1GB GDDR5 (Which I am also going to change back to a GeForce as soon as funds allow, never again am I going Radeon, bastard thing drops out all the time. All the AMD forums say its just a common problem, but its not restricted to one series of card just some dont work well with certain setups, mine obviously being one of them :/) Apart from the GFX card dropping out now and again its actually a really good rig, run all my games on full and have no lag at all, 30fps minimum. Crysis 2: Res - 1440x900 Quality - Ultra Also running the whole DX11 Ultra upgrade which consists of the DX11 Tesselations pack & Hi Res texture pack. http://www.mycrysis.com/dx11 Game couldnt run any smoother tbh, which shocked me as my friends custom built i7 (Couple years old now) struggled a bit, might have had more to do with it being full of shit and myself running a SSD. There is a huge difference in loading times ! BF3: Res - 1440x900 Quality - Ultra The same smooth as a babies ass... Really happy with the rig tbh as it only cost me £700 and something and it was just a ready made gaming bundle rig from 3B systems (Local builder who I've used for bits since the 90's) which I customised over the phone & had posted to my door. I'll upload a few videos of my gameplay, I would do it now but my fraps recordings are over 2gb for a 2 minute video so I'll need to downsize it slightly. Hopefully without loosing quality. |

I'm running a 2500K too (same model, just has an unlocked multiplier) and got it running today, runs Battlefield Play4Free surprisingly well (80fps+ at 1024x768 on medium settings). I may get a separate graphics card in the future when I've got more money, someone on 4chan told me to look at the 6850 but I think I'm going to go with Nvidia again too, let me know what you get and how it works out. Are you sure your SSD isn't SATA3, or does your motherboard just not support that? My Crucial M4 is and it's amazingly quick, boots Windows 7 in less than 20 seconds (doesn't even give the Windows logo enough time to fully load), feels so awesome coming from a slow as shit setup that usually took a couple minutes. |

Yeah there were a few trade off's made when choosing this setup. I had a spending limit so I decided to get the 2500 instead of the 2500k as there was quite a difference & thought I've never overclocked before Im not going to start now. Same with the case & HDD's chose sata II to save some pennies to get a bit more ram and a better GPU (At the time had not heard of these drop out problems). I wouldn't reconmend taking the chance of getting a 6850 or even a radeon unless its one of the newest models. Too much money to gamble with incase it rejects your system. If someone can find out the exact problem and sort it happy days I'd stay with it all day long as its performs brilliantly but they dont have the stability the Nvidia have. If I get some money saved up which I dont need for camera & car stuff, now I've eased myself back into the tech world I'll build my own rig from scratch again. There's supposidly going to be quite a bit of new designed tech coming out end of this year so will keep my eyes peeled. EDIT: Went to upload the video and it said 166 minutes for a 2 minute video so balls to that... You'll just have to take my word that it plays smoothly haha (Damn shitty internet) Heres some screenies with FRAPS running though so gives you an idea of Frame Rate. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These shows the Hi Res Texture pack & DX11 Tessellations off F'in well: (Bricks popping out the walls, giving depth to the game for people who dont know.) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Also does anyone else play Ace of Spades ? My brother put me onto it a couple weeks ago and I found it so addictive. Its basically minecraft with crafting thrown out the window and a gun put into your hand! AMAZING! http://www.ace-spades.com/ Textures are worse than the minecrafts and you can't load new texture packs either which could make the game a little bit better but the games not about it. |

That looks pretty bloody good, makes Crysis on PS3 look terrible in comparison. The 2500 and 2500K seem to be around the same price these days, or just a negligible amount more for the K. I don't know if I'll ever overclock but I figured it's worth having the option. Gonna download that Ace of Spades thing and give it a go. |
