I've kept myself well up to date on all the bad points of the game and put it down to this; they had to completely start from scratch with the entire game code/physics engine etc, so whatever is missing from this doesn't matter, just as GT1 was the stepping stone for GT2 and GT3 was for GT4, GT5 is the base for an amazing GT6, which now they've got the ground work done should be out in less than the 5 year wait we had for this! I think the main problem is too many rumours and overhype by fans made everyone's expectations too high and now the reality is disappointing them. I know someone who returned it already after just 8 hours of play complaining about poor graphics and it being too slow. This isn't Need For Speed, it's a simulator, the graphics are simply a downside of imported cars from GT4 which in their defence are well up-scaled, but do look rough when studied and have nothing on the premium models which the creator has already said they went a bit over the top with in terms of detail, since 1 headlight is the same poly-count as an entire GT4 car apparently, which I can almost believe when you see the close up of a Ferrari F40 for instance. I'll reserve my judgement through other people's experiences until I play it myself but the main problems I see are people playing on a controller when ideally it's aimed at wheel users, so a lot of the experience from that is lost. We'll see what's what once the initial impact has calmed and people get into it properly, so there's some proper reviews and criticism instead of fanboys demanding a gift from God... |

Ok I never thought about it being made from scratch - It feels a lot like GT3 in some ways. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's an amazing game Certainly didn't know the cars had that high of a poly count ![]() Also there was an update to 1.01 out already today... |

I always preferred GT3 to GT4, it's got a lot more oversteer instead of the constant understeer of every single car in GT4, makes it far more fun and so I started playing it again a few weeks again in preparation xD It's obviously disappointing there aren't more choices for standard cars such as views and wheel changes, but I guess it's a small price to pay for what it actually is and considering the vast content it still holds. My main issue with all GT titles has been the car audio, but so far from what I've seen there's definitely an improvement here which adds to the realism nicely instead of everything sounding like the same generic noise. The other disappointment is the lack of classic GT circuits such as Midfield and Apricot Hill, but then we did get some fantastic new tracks which is always a welcome change. Hopefully they'll release DLC throughout the future to give new cars and circuits as time progresses, make up for some of it's current downfalls no matter how trivial they are. |

i got it today and boy, am I excited. yeah, there are only 200 premium cars, but there were only 180 cars in GT3 total, so that's a vast improvement imo. Still, they got the hawkeye impreza, and that's all that counts xD The staggering number of used cars and the whole 'used' car system are a great idea in my opinion. it keeps the game sort of random and interesting; you never know what you're gonna get! I'm sure they'll be working on more tracks and more cars to release through DLC. Shit, i'd rather have them doing that then start on GT6. 5 is a nice, round number anyway. but yeah, no wheel changes on non-premium cars? fuck that shit. Can you even repaint them? Shit, you'd better be able to fucking repaint them. I do have a wheel, but i don't have it hooked up yet. It's kind of old, i'm not sure if it will even work with my system, but i'll try it tomorrow. And if anybody wants to race me in my bitchin' Miata, my psn name is dturchenko91 |

Good news for you is you can repair damage, bad news is a few taps from the AI in your back or something can cost a fucking fortune xD As for DLC, Kaz said during his opening speech at the Madrid party yesterday that there'll be loads of DLC in the coming weeks and months to add loads more. |

Yaay for DLC The sound is improved by miles - adding exhausts and engine mods actually change the sound of your car - and whats this? Do I hear a dump valve? Why yes, I do!

As for the game... yeah it's some what disappointing, I cant even take my first car on a photo-shoot because it's not the premium Ek civic and why is there no brake upgrades. Will need to play more, before giving a review. Na mx-5 is next to be bought
