Anyone got it yet? I've played a few hours now, it's cool It isn't as awesome (to me) as Skate 2 (that being my first Skate game besides tony hawk games) because it isn't so radically new, but it's still a great game. The new tricks (darkslides and underflips) are fun but I feel they could have put more tricks in it, like a casper ("dark manual") or some other flatland tricks. Of course getting to play in an entirely new area is awesome, and you can now drop objects (ramps etc) wherever you want instead of having to go find one miles away and having to drag it to where you need it. You can also create your own parks, which I haven't really tried yet but is probably the best addition yet; you never get bored of the map because you can just make your own ![]() Also, there's now a Hardcore mode with more realistic gameplay: you don't jump as high, and there is no "locking" for grinding. In Skate 2 your board would usually be sucked to the rail automatically if you just jump close enough, but in hardcore mode in skate 3 you really have to aim manually, MUCH harder! Anyway, I do feel that they have screwed up the grinding animations. Grinding just doesn't feel as smooth as in skate 2 (never played skate 1). Especially blunt-slides are really awkward, the 'jump off' at the end is just horrible. Also, if you try to trick out of a grind, sometimes he will jump out at a strange angle. Here's a video I made to show the blunt-slide strangeness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02dhbCGowAg Hope they fix this! So, who got it yet? |

Don't know if you skate IRL Flippy but i think in Skate 3 they've tried to simulate the popping out, it just happens far to late, not sure, does look gash though. Played the demo, not sure if its worth getting tbh. Games are far too expensive, and i'm tighter than a ducks arse. |

Got the first one, neither the second nor third seemed to offer much more worth getting them for. It's not like Assassins Creed 2 where you get a whole new story along with some new gameplay features, or the Halo series, you play Skate and other such sports games just to do that sport. |

Nah from Skate 1 to 2 it's not like what you just said. You get a laod of new stuff to do, tricks et. you can get off your board, thank fuck, move objects, to be fair it is a big improvement on skate 1. Although the stroyline of skate 1 is so much better. |

The moveable objects is probably the only huge difference to me, I couldn't care less about more tricks or getting off the board tbh. I suppose it's still more of an improvement than the Tony Hawk series of games made, all they really did was change the levels and characters and give you some different challenges to do (until stuff like Underground of course). |

Nah getting of the boar is such an improvement, makes getting up stairs and to different places much easier. |

Yeah it is... It's been out for at least a week. I've nearly finished it the main goal already (which is not to kill all challenges, still nowhere near the end for that). |
