9-20-2008 Staff Applications are now up! It's about time. :B I've also done some layout shifting: The chatbox is now at the bottom of the forum, and a staff list will be on the top in its place.:B I'm gonna try to bring this place back up some. Let's hope for the best. 8-6-2008 Two NPCs have been added to 5. People and Organizations. Locke Harper is the fairly optomistic President and founder of the Esper Coaltion, while Nicholas Hobbes is the strict and serious Chief of the Vertex Police. Both are well known in the city, and both are named after old world philosophers. Have fun reading :D |

It was a cloudy day in Edark, people are constantly hiding in the comforts in their own home, however that is not the case for the person living in a house in the neighbourhood. Shiro was currently unpacking his luggage, which consisted of his clothes and other things. He sighed as he looked outside, looks like nobody came to greet him in this neighbourhood. Continuing to unpack his things in silent, Shiro wished for a new friend in this neighbourhood that isn't a bully. |

Rosette sighed as she walked down the sidewalk in the neighborhood, carrying a few grocery bags in her hands. She really didn't want to go out on this particular day, but it was her turn to go shopping. At the moment, she'd rather much daydream in her room or take care of her dog, Midnight. This brought her to quicken her pace somewhat. The seventeen-year-old stared up at the clouded sky. Why did she have to live in a world like this? Why couldn't she have been born in that enchanted world she created mentally? Of course, Rosette always wondered this, so this was nothing different. And it just so happened that she hadn't been paying attention on her way. Because of this, she tripped over the loose part of her shoelace, which caused her to yelp and hit the ground. Not only that, but the groceries also spilled out of their bags. "Ow..." Rosette groaned, moving up to a kneeling position and rubbing her sore spots. She had a few scrapes, but they were nothing. Well, nothing to her, considering her healing abilities. But that wasn't the matter here. The teenager looked at all groceries spread around her and yelped once more, this one in slight panic. She didn't say anything else, though, as she hurriedly started picking up the goods. With her pace, however, most were lead to hitting the ground again. 'Man...Mom and Dad are really gonna kill me now...' Rosette thought to herself. |

Shiro's ears perked up slightly as he heard a small crash outside as he was going out of his house, planning for a walk around the neighbourhood, he spotted the source of the noise, who was a girl picking up her groceries, Shiro being a samaritan, decided to walk near the girl and picked up some of her dropped things. |

Rosette paused as she noticed a boy walk over to her and pick up some of the groceries. He seemed to be a bit older than her from the looks, though that wasn't what bothered her. It was the spiky hair that seemed to intimidate her most. The girl quickly looked back down, however, not wanting to make any contact with this boy. Without saying anything, she took back the goods he picked up and put them back in the bags as quick as she could. |

Shiro just looked over the girl, who looked at him for a while before looking at the ground as if it was the most interesting thing. Confused over this he asked the girl,"Um, what's wrong?" |

Rosette just shook her head, still not making any contact with the boy. She picked up the rest of the groceries and stood up slowly. "Th...thank you..." was all she said, before turning heel and starting to walk off. |

Shiro, noticing the injuries on the girl as she walked away, true it was just scrapes, but the fact that she is holding all the stuff with her hands is what worries him, what if the groceries fall? The girl would surely take quite a long time in carrying it back to her home, wherever that is. Shiro then decided to walk in the same direction as the girl and walked next to her, asking,"Are you sure you don't need any help? You certainly could use some hands right now...." |

"I-I'm okay by myself," Rosette replied quietly, still not glancing at the boy and keeping her eyes in front of her. Of course, though she tried not to show it, she was wincing from the scrapes as she walked and hefting the bags every once in a while. Not to mention, some of the groceries were about to fall back out again, though she didn't seem to notice. |

The groceries did fall out from the girl's hand, which prompted Shiro to catch it and hold it in his hands, noticing the girl's pained look, he asked again,"Are you sure you're okay?" |

Rosette didn't reply this time. She was hoping she could make it home without any trouble before tending to her injuries, but in this case, that wasn't possible now. But at the same time, she didn't want to use her powers in front of this boy. What if he was just like the others, who thought of mutants as monsters and would say it right in front of her face that she was one? The girl shook her head slightly and looked around for a moment. She soon spotted a small dark area between two houses and ducked into there, hoping the boy wouldn't follow her. |
