Are you sure you read all the rules?: When he goes vampire-slaying, the headmaster always wears his best dress and make-up. He likes to feel pretty while hunting for monsters in the sewers.
IC Description: Name: Hatsugori Hisoka Alias/Nickname: Soka (only his older twin is permitted to call him that) Age: 17 Gender: Male Race and Level: Vampire - Level B: Noble Blood Status: Night Class Student
Appearance: "Do I talk now?" 'Young master, the interviewer isn't ready yet-' "That's fine. I'm ready."Shuffling of papers is heard. Someone takes a deep breath. "My name is Hatsugori Hisoka. I was born on December 1st, 1993. I am the younger of two, and I have a little sister named Michiko-"'Hatsugori-san, this is about your appearance. We'll get to the family part later.' "What?!" Frustrated huffs are heard. "I told you I should go after him! I don't know what to say."'Hatsugori-san, your brother is waiting. Come now,'
"Fine, fine." Hatsugori-san clears his throat. "My name is Hatsugori Hisoka. I am the younger half of a pair of identical twins. I was born with dark brown-blonde hair. I dyed it a bright aqua green last year in a fit of immaturity and longing for attention, but now it is back to a much tamer chocolate brown. I am heterochromic-that means I was born with mismatching eyes, just like my brother. My right eye is an aqua blue, and my left eye is an emerald green." A pause. He then continues in a higher voice, revealing his concern. "It's very queer, actually. My brother has a violet and golden eye, which makes perfect sense. My father has burning golden eyes, and my mother has beautiful violet eyes. But me, I'm a freak. I think my grandfather on my mom's side has dark blue eyes, but that's about it.
"I am about 5'11", not too tall, and not too short. Thinking about it, I've always been pretty tall-at least, taller than my cousins. My bone structure is rather delicate-I take after my mother. I look lanky sometimes, people say." 'Did you play any sports when you were young, Hatsugori-san?' "Mmm.. Not really. I mean, father used to take us on hunting trips. My brother and I were taught horseback riding from a young age, but that's really standard for people of our social class. Other than that.. We did take martial arts lessons." A pause. The sound of rustling cloth. "See? I'm pretty lean, not too muscular-that's not too good for a swordsman like me. I'm pretty light, too. I weigh about.. 139 lbs? It's all muscle; there's no fat, or I'd weigh more, probably. I think it runs in my family; my father still wears the same suits he used to wear when he was my age."
'What about your style? What clothes do you like to wear? What sets you apart from your brother?' "Hmm.. That's a pretty easy question. Unlike a lot of my fancier cousins, I like dressing very casually. I mean, a lot of them get all their clothes fitted and such, and have racks upon racks of suits and dresses and vests and the like. I do have more elegant fare for formal occasions-believe me, they come often for someone like me!-but I like to purchase my own clothes. I do get them fitted after, of course. I like to dress in flannels, long-sleeved shirts.. Anything very casual and hip." A thoughtful pause. "Don't get me wrong, I utterly loathe how the common people dress. It's not very unique at all, all those mass-produced items that fit their wearers ill." Disgust creeps into his voice as he shudders delicately."I do have earrings-" Sound of hair being brushed back. "Two regular earlobe piercings and a cartilage piercing in the left ear."
Personality: Hatsugori Hisoka is an enigma. He is known to have many different faces, switching them out as protocol demands, and is even seen to be friendly with humans.. When they serve his purpose. In his unguarded state, Hisoka has a small smirk on his face, and the natural slanted eyebrows further the diabolical image. From a young age, Hisoka was known to play a lot of pranks on his cousins and other visitors of the household, but was never caught in the act. The adults knew that he was the culprit, yet they could never catch him in the act. Hisoka's reasons for playing such tricks was simple, at least to him. He was constantly testing those around him, testing their intelligence, testing how they would be of benefit to him and his purposes. In that aspect, he is a calculating person.
In regards to the humans and the uneasy peace established, Hisoka is ambivalent. His family is very supportive of the Council and the condescending view of humans as untapped wells. However, Hisoka established another viewpoint after much reading and study of the histories of the vampiric race. While he is ever-staunch on the subject of Hunters-they are abominations to him, freaks that wish to be human but cannot, leeches that stole vampiric blood, scavengers living off vampires and humans-he believes that humans are natural products of the Earth, just as vampires are. Humans are meant to be subjugated by vampires, not eradicated. Of course, this view is also condescending, but it is milder than what many of his peers believe-complete extinction of the race itself, or complete subjugation and slavery.
Cunning, ruthless, militaristic. Those are three words that he has etched into his heart from a young age. While a part of his natural personality is playful and laid back in nature, another alternate personality is the very incarnation of a Machiavellian ruler. He blames this on his mother and her spartan education, quite a change from the liberal education that his father pursued. He could have turned out to be like an Enlightenment scholar, but instead became this thing.

IC Background: Biography: On December 1, 1993, the Hatsugori Household was blessed with two healthy baby boys. Although heterochromic, and thus rumored to be of the devil, these boys were long-awaited by the clan; Hatsugori Junichi had a duty to carry on his line, as the main house of the surname. Strangely enough, the babies did not cry when they were born. With mischievous gleams in their eyes, they were relatively easy to care for, but their nurses would quit after only a week of taking care of the two babies. And so they went on, nurse after nurse, governess after governess. To this day they haven't had a caretaker who has lasted more than a week. The servants of the household have learned to deal with the diabolical twins.
Starting at age 5, they were taught Latin and Greek, and by age 8, had progressed to the study of modern languages such as English, French, Chinese, and Russian. Hisoka's favorite subject was Latin, as he especially loved studying about the ancient Roman emperors, and studying the battle campaigns and tactics. When studying his favorite subjects, Hisoka unusually became a studious scholar.
His first encounter with humans was at a soiree hosted by his family. Because his father was not completely unknown in the human public sphere, many of the guests were human. It just so happened that one of the guests brought one of their children-a young human girl by the name of Kaede. Hisoka never learned her surname. He found her while playing hide-and-seek with Haruka in the gardens, away from the boisterous humans milling in the pavilion. As Hisoka hurried into his favorite hole in the big willow tree, he found the human girl. They immediately became friends-although Hisoka knew that Kaede was a human, he was drawn to her unusual human habits and fragile appearance-and throughout the night, played childish games, along with Haruka. They were found by the butler, however, and after that night, Hisoka never saw Kaede again. His father held all proceeding meetings with humans away from the main manor, on one of the family's vacation properties. Hisoka always assumed that his parents did not want him to be acquainted with humans as equals. They were always telling him that humans were slaves, beings created by mother nature for the sustenance of vampires.
Beginning at age 13, Hisoka was permitted to choose a style of fighting that appealed to him the most. As an aristocrat-his mother's idea of an aristocrat, anyway-all young men had to learn an art of self-defense that also looked pleasing to the eye. Hisoka's choice was the Florentine style of swordfighting. With two longblades (a departure from tradition, but when was Hisoka ever conventional?) he could often be seen practicing by himself in the courtyard. From then on, when Hisoka wasn't planning a prank with Haruka, he could be found easily in the courtyard or armory.
Hisoka did attend the soiree mourning the deaths of the pureblood Kurans. He remembers the experience as particularly unsettling, although many of peers were there. He had originally been excited to meet the young Kuran-sama (he had heard that Kuran-sama was only a year older than him), but events during the soiree made him feel rather sick. Watching the eager humans, the gleaming eyes of the adults, the cooing voices that revealed no remorse, but rather ambition and plotting… they all disgusted him. Yes, Hisoka was being a hypocrite as that was what he himself would engage on later in his life, but at the time, he was still a fresh-faced young boy with idealistic dreams, not yet tainted by the prejudices of his race and class.
Just two years ago, his Grandfather gave up his seat on the council in favor of his father, Hatsugori Junichi. Hisoka was ecstatic. Finally he himself would be closely connected to the institution that he so admired! However, Hisoka's chance at affiliation was cut short with his father's decision to send him to Cross Academy. Junichi had long heard that the offspring of the elite social circles all attended the institution, but was quite unsure of whether such a place, with its soft connotations of coexistence, would be suitable for his sons. However, he figured that because Kuran-sama was attending the institution, not to mention the myriads of other great noble families, it would not be too harmful for his sons. The very least they could get out of it were valuable social connections.
Family and Other Important People: Hatsugori Junichi: Father. Junichi is somewhat of a role model for Hisoka. Although he follows his mother more diligently, Hisoka still accords respect for his father, especially considering that he has recently taken over Grandfather's seat on the Council. When Hisoka was young, Junichi took over his education personally, acquiring tutors, teaching him martial arts himself, and other basics of being a well-bred aristocrat in this age. Now, Junichi does not have much time for his children, and feels slight guilt. He sends Hisoka many letters about his job on the Council, knowing Hisoka would be interested.
Hatsugori Ame: Mother. Named after the relentless forces of water, Hisoka's mother can be called a matriarch. She has a strong personality, and is often the first one the servants in the household go to regarding problems. When Hisoka was young, he would compare his mother to Lady Macbeth from Shakespeare when Ame would scold him for 'little nothings,' or so he said. In reality, although Ame is strict with her sons and daughter, she holds great love and respect for all of them. Hisoka still rebels occasionally for the sake of it, but has now learned to obey his mother more.
Hatsugori Haruka: Older twin brother. Hisoka has always been with him all his life, and can't imagine a world without his older brother. He is Hisoka's partner in crime, a confidante, and more. There are times when Hisoka needs to be the more mature one, and vice versa. Hisoka likes to think that they complete each other, and sometimes worries about when they will find suitable partners. Will they ever learn to let go of each other? At the Academy, they will be rooming together.
Hatsugori Michiko: Little sister. Hisoka calls her 'my little princess.' True to the nickname, Michiko is indeed the princess of the household, pampered by everyone. Hisoka loved to take her out to the forest meadows, curbing his natural wickedness for his little sister. She is turning 8 this year, and sends Hisoka little baked treats that she is learning to bake from Mother.
Items of Note: -A pressed orchid from Haruka, inserted between the pages of his favorite book, The Picture of Dorian Gray. -A signed copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray from his family library. His father does not know that Hisoka has snuck this book out; it's against family rules to take original copies out from the library itself. -A leather bracelet that Hisoka and his older brother made for each other for their 13th birthdays.
Character Goals: Hisoka is very interested in politics. He wishes to become engaged in that arena and become more acquainted with Kuran-sama and the upper echelons of aristocratic society that Kuran-sama surrounds himself with. Although Hisoka is indeed from a well-known, influential family, Kuran-sama's social circle is one that is rarely breached by outsides. He intends to be one of the few that succeeds in that attempt.
Hisoka is also naturally wicked. With his twin brother, he constantly pushes the boundaries of established rules. Of late, however, he has become more mature in a conflicted attempt to seem more worthy of his family name. One can say that he has gotten his priorities in order. While the wicked streak is still present, more often, he considers his every action more carefully.
Powers, Abilities and Notable Skills: Samagawaru.: Hisoka holds the unusual gift of Samagawaru: the art of changing matter. To the naked eye, all that will appear is an object that fluidly changes its form to Hisoka's wishes. Behind the power lies this explanation: Hisoka is able to rearrange the molecules of an object to better suit his needs. If a specific element is lacking, he may draw from other objects in his surroundings to create the object of his desire. This ability is limited to nonliving objects; he is not able to rearrange the molecules of anything living. The ability's magnitude is reduced in gradations-solids are the easiest to rearrange, then liquids, then gas. He rarely tampers with gas, as it is especially difficult for him and requires a lot of concentration. Thanks to this ability, he often does not need to carry a weapon, being able to fashion one of his choice from the objects around him.
RP Sample: Long fangs flashed in the lone stream of sunlight that peeked through a crack in the curtains. The mismatching eyes leaked a tear or two as Hisoka scrunched up his face, attempting to wake from his slumber. It was the first day of classes for the duo, and he intended to make a good impression on his classmates. He ruffled his aqua blue hair with one hand as another hand idly scratched his bare chest. He threw off the heavy blankets and slid down to the cold floor. Hisoka stood there, surveying his new dorm room. It wasn't too shabby. The four-poster beds were nice-he loved thick blankets-and the curtains were heavy enough to cut off light when he was sleeping. The only thing that was mildly irritating was..
"Kyahh! Kyahh!" He could distinctly hear from his room, even with the windows closed and the curtains down. Just how loud could they get?! They were so different from Kaede. Hisoka had no idea that human girls could be this pushy. When Haruka and he had arrived at the dorm a few hours earlier-it had been the morning, and the start of classes for the Day Class-many girls, realizing that the twins would be the newest additions to the Night Class, had followed them to the very gates of the Moon Dorms. He lightly touched a flower on the bedframe, changing it into a bird instead. 'Inner calm, inner calm, inner calm..' he thought to himself as he looked at the clock… His eyes narrowed. It wasn't even close to first period. How idiotic.
Hisoka stalked over to the window, a distinctly annoyed expression on his face. Two long hands grabbed the curtains and thrust them open. "Aargh-" he moaned. How stupid of him to open the curtains with himself in the middle! Even though the sun would go down soon, it still was irritating to his skin. He hurriedly let the curtains fall and staggered a few steps backward, resisting the urge to scratch himself all over. "Idiot.." a husky voice murmured from his right. Haruka turned over and pulled the blankets over his head. Hisoka shot a glare at the lump of blankets and pillows lounging on the other bed. Just because Haruka was older by a few minutes didn't mean that he could call Hisoka a bumbling bumpkin who couldn't bite someone to save his life. (True, that wasn't what Haruka had said, but Hisoka's hyperactive imagination accorded the single word such extensive meanings.) After a moment, a wicked smile spread across his face.
Hisoka stood up once more, and with quiet steps, walked back to the window. Stepping to the left, he pulled open the curtain a feet, letting the sunlight directly strike the bed of his twin. Of course, Hisoka was hidden in the shadows behind the curtain. "Aargh!" Haruka yelled, throwing off his blanket and pillows. Hisoka laughed diabolically and let the curtain fall once more, darting to the door. "I just thought you needed more vitamin D. You've been looking awfully pale lately." Hisoka smoothly said, gloating at his success. Action always trumped mere words.
