Are you sure you read all the rules?: When he goes vampire-slaying, the headmaster always wears his best dress and make-up. He likes to feel pretty while hunting for monsters in the sewers.
IC Description: Name: Fukazawa Yukiko Alias/Nickname: Kiko Age: 17 Gender: Female Race and Level: Vampire - Noble Blood Status: Night Class Student

Appearance:
There are many things about Yukiko’s appearance that she doesn’t like, but she just attributes those dislikes to the fact that she is an admittedly high maintenance girl and believes that she deserves the best, even in the gene pool. She sees other people, noticing what she likes about them, and then comparing them to herself, often times disappointed because she only takes the time to look at beautiful people. But even with these little disturbances in her head. . . She is a flourishing beauty.
It doesn’t take a person long to see the striking features in Yukiko that make her very appealing to the eye. Hair that floats softly around her shoulders, straight as a pin, dark brown in color with a small tint of red. Easily complimented by large dark eyes, a small chest, an even smaller waist, a perfect pale complexion, a pout of the lips, and a smile that could kill. As vain as she is, Yukiko knows what makes her beautiful and uses it to her advantage in every passing moment. Her history growing up as a beauty in the human world, made the transition to constantly being surrounded by people who rivaled her own reflection as a shock and she is constantly working to make herself more than what she already is.
Standing at a height of 5’3” and weighing 94 lbs, Yukiko is on the slender side of the scale, but far from what would be considered unhealthy in the vampire world. While living with humans, it was often questioned whether or not she was anorexic, but with her mother being an established doctor, it was quickly put down as a rumor. Yukiko’s slender figure was given to her without effort, but she isn’t the type of person to let genetics dictate the way she looks. She is constantly working out and eating healthy so that she can prove to herself that she deserves the body she was given.
Yukiko’s complexion is something that has always bothered her, though she knows it’s one of her better features. A flawless ivory that practically glows isn’t what she wanted, she didn’t want to look the same as every other vampire she had seen. Her mother had the complexion, but so did all the other children that she had seen at the soirees she has attended. They all looked like dolls coming from the same mold, from their perfect Barbie-like features, their cookie-cutter personalities, and their apathetic faces; it always made her sick. But a person has to work with what they’re given, so while she’s envious of the light tan of her human brother, she’s contempt to work with what she has, her make-up light and airy on her skin, making her radiate perfection.
Her lips are another thing that irritates her. While they’re nicely shaped, and fairly plump, she can’t help but be envious of her brother. In fact many things about her brother cause an envious glance from her and other people. For a human he is quite beautiful, in an awkward way. She has caught people looking at him while she was standing there, and while she’s excited for him, she also enjoys the spotlight and those looks from complete strangers always cause a feeling of insecurity in her. She compares herself to him, but knows that she won’t attain the human beauty that she sees in him.
Clothes. When it comes down to what she voluntarily covers herself with, Yukiko is partial to the each side of the spectrum, and avoids with middle with what can only be described as a religious determination. She loves multiple layers, the colors blending to make an outfit that not many people can pull off. Covering her body from head to toe, and keeping the boys in check when they’re staring at her. If not completely covered, she prefers to wear as little as possible. Short lacy skirts, tank tops and a cardigan, showing off what she knows no one will ever have. Her make-up ranging from dark eyes, to practically nothing. Unpredictability is what she loves, and she uses it to her advantage whenever possible. She’s a flirt to the furthest extent, often using what she knows is in people’s heads against them.
Personality:
Flirty - Narcissistic - Sarcastic - Manipulative
Often described as “Ditzy,” Yukiko is actually more than the whimsical personality she portrays to the humans that surround her. She likes keeping everyone who she isn’t close to on a need-to-know basis, and while she talks a lot, nothing is really ever said. But of course, every vampire needs to know how to put on a nice face, and act as though nothing in the world is bothering them. It is the way of life. After all, both the human world and her own run on webs of intricate layers of deceit, creating allegiances and making acquaintances more than meeting friends.
Around humans and vampires that she doesn’t know, it’s easier to come off as the average, vain, airhead. Rambling about things such as shoes or guys or fashion, though she doesn’t have any real interest in any of these subjects. Feigning ignorance is often the highlight of her day at school, letting the Day Class students believe that she’s just another rich kid who likes to flaunt herself in front of them. But this isn’t exactly true, while she seems like she’s happy around everyone; but more often than not, the smile on her face is only because she sees something that she can get something from them not the kind heart that she sometimes wishes she had.
Of course, not everyone can actually be the picture perfect angel that people want to see, and not everyone is okay with admiring her from a distance like she wants them to. There are very few things in life that irritate Yukiko, and one of those things is when people invade her personal space. Sure, she smiles and she laughs, and she’ll answer their questions with as much sincerity as she can muster, but when it comes down to it, she’s not your friend and she doesn’t want to be. She isn’t the type of person to go out and tell them that to their face, but her actions around them are different than the rest of the herd.
Naturally flirtatious, Yukiko is often ridiculed for being a “Tease” as some of the Day Class guys have put it. Often sending comments about how she’s a complete “Fake” and that no one could ever love her. One skeptic in particular went as far as saying that her bubbly nature was disgusting and that it would soon be time for a little girl like herself to grow up. When faced with things like this, she is quick to come up with a snide remark, but often ends up crying afterward. She’s strong and likes to think that she can handle herself, but comments about her as an individual get to her easily and she doesn’t like being judged by people she doesn’t think really know her.
Honest - Clever - Intelligent - Amusing
On an intellectual level, Yukiko is knowledgeable about many subjects. History is one of the subjects she enjoys the most, seeing the mistakes made by her ancestors forever immortalized is something that she likes reading about. Another subject she likes to study is Human Biology, her mother is a doctor, her brother is human, if a person really looked into it, her interest in the subject is a given. While her own body is something that is immune to most diseases, and physical wounds heal effortlessly, her brother is another story. But no one would ever suspect these things unless they were actually trying to strike up a conversation with her, and when everyone thinks you’re an idiot, a bitch, or a disgusting combination of the two, that’s not likely to happen.
But on the off chance that someone actually takes a stab at looking into her brain, she always has a way of brushing him or her off. The many facets of her personality were put in place to protect her from the people she surrounded herself with, and she is often reinforcing their structures. But even with those security structures in place, even though she is constantly pushing people away, she will never allow herself to tell an outright lie. A lie is what her parents had told each other when they had married, a lie was what made Jasmin’s mother walk out on him, lies cause problems, so while she wears many masks to disguise herself, her true personality is always shining through. Whether that is a good thing or not is unknown to her.
On the most basic level, she likes to laugh and smile and make other people think she’s happy, but what girl doesn’t like that? To have complete control over her image is what every girl wants, and that is hardly possible when people wear their hearts on their sleeve. . . Or at least that’s how she sees it.
Kind - Protective - Mature - Real
Only a few people have been able to meet Yukiko on this level of her mind. After displaying herself as an airhead, after trying to drive them away, after trying to hurt them, they have stuck by her side and actually were able to see that she’s not just levels of personality issues. Her personality as a whole is someone that lives for the people she knows and loves.
Her brother Jasmin is one of the most important people in her world, even though she isn’t actually related to him and she would never tell him that to his face. He’s one of the people she has found that she can trust to always be consistent and will always accept her no matter what she does. His actions are always calm and docile in her opinion, but she thinks it works fine with him. Even through his apathetic façade, she knows that she enjoys being around him and that it would hurt her deeply if anything were to happen to him.
If a person is able to see Yukiko for who she truly is, it means that they have had a profound effect on her, either through their actions, or their words, they mean something to her and she doesn’t need to hide how she truly is from them. Her levels of security are just a mixture of her that seems unbalanced and horrid when thinking about it. But she knows that if a person takes their time to get to know her on this level, it means that she means something to them and that is one thing she is truly grateful for.
Other Information:
- As a Noble vampire, Yukiko knows that it is often frowned upon to have “too” much interaction with humans, but given her circumstances and the way she was raised, she has blurred the races into one. Of course this doesn’t mean that she will go out of her way to be nice to a human, but that also means she won’t go out of her way to insult them or avoid them as well.
- Her family is one of very few “Mixed” families as others of her kind refer to it. She was born a Noble vampire, her blood just as strong as others of her kind, but she has humans that are more family to her than the vampires who actually share her blood. While this little fact makes her life a little harder than the average Noble, she doesn’t mind. She views it as a challenge and won’t hesitate to take on anyone who dares to insult her because of it.
- Yukiko always calls her brother by his real name. She knows he prefers the nickname “Drake” but that was one of his more recent pursuits when they started attending the Academy. Growing up she called him Jasmin or Nii-san and doesn’t plan to change those names anytime soon.
- Art is one of the most important things to her older brother. She once wished that she could share this talent with him, but every time she tried, it turned out more of a disaster than anything else. In spite of her lack of natural talent, Yukiko still tries her best to do well in this subject, paying for extra lessons, studying art history and techniques extensively, hoping that one day she could make at least one thing she could be proud of.
- Not a fan of sweets, Yukiko will gladly accept what most people give her graciously, but often gives them away to people who would enjoy them more than herself. Often times this is in a harsh and uncaring fashion, but in her head, if she were to show any sign weakness, than people would pounce and she would ultimately suffer.
- She enjoys singing when she thinks no one is listening. She sees music as an art and therefore and unattainable platform for herself. Her voice is of the mezzo-soprano range and she is quite talented in the fact that she isn’t tone deaf. When she was a child, her mother would sing her to sleep every night, so music calms her down to a point where she could almost be considered normal.
- When asked about her brother, Yukiko doesn’t deny the fact that her brother is indeed a human. She’s proud of her relationship with him, though that doesn’t fall well on the other members of her class. Deep down, she loves her family and would do anything to protect it.
IC Background: Biography:
- The Fukazawa Family - The marriage of two Noble vampires is rarely one that is made out of love, at least that wasn’t what it was for Misa and Hiroto. Both of them came from established families, with strong lines and ties that made anything possible for a couple as powerful as they would be. They feigned the mask of the “Happy Couple” their marriage lasting for years, producing a beautiful baby girl and a reputation that people would kill for. But when relationships are based on lies solely for monetary gain and status, it isn’t a surprise to hear that it had failed.
Throughout the years, Misa and Hiroto found out that they really didn’t have enough in common to be able to hold onto an established relationship. Misa had dreams; sure she wanted a family and a life at home with kids and people who she loved, but she was also severely independent and had things of her own that she wanted to accomplish. Hiroto was very job oriented and needed a girl who would trust every decision he would ever make, not question him whenever she got the chance. As a member of the Vampire Council, he had to deal with working constantly and really only wanted a wife to continue on his bloodline. They fought each other constantly behind the scenes; a hushed whisper at a soiree, a few dishes shattering against the wall, divorce was inevitable. But at the time, divorce was almost an unheard concept when it came to vampires, frowned upon, a rejected practice that only vermin-like humans would succumb to. Being as high perched as they were; the fall was hard, but not enough to die. Both families still have a strong influence their social circles, but not as much as they would’ve had together.
- Fukazawa Yukiko - Born on the 28th of December, the name “Snow Child” is kind of cliché, but that was what her parents had decided to name her. Like many other vampire parents, individuality and creativity weren’t really high on their lists, they were just overjoyed that the shining couple were finally able to produce a child for the Fukazawa line. They hoped that the child would be able to prevent the couple from breaking their bond to each other, but she seemed to just blow on the flames, petty fights turned into arguments of a different scale. A divorce ensued and left Misa with full custody of Hiroto. Hiroto gave up custodial rights without a fight, Yukiko was a girl and with her and her mother out of the picture, he would be able to find a wife who could produce him the son he wanted.
Yukiko doesn’t have many significant memories from before Sei walked his way into her mother’s life. Before them, her mother had given her the traditional lessons of Nobility, constantly hiring caretakers, instructors, and tutors so that her daughter would grow up to be a fine young lady. They taught Yukiko well and she flourished without a father figure to guide her, proving to her community that she and her mother weren’t the type of people to be forgotten. Even if Misa wasn’t the other half of the “It” couple didn’t mean that her marriage to a human would go without notice. But Misa actually loved this man, though not many people could see the reasons behind her attraction.
With Sei and Jasmin in her life, Yukiko finally felt what it was like to be a normal girl. Her new father was kind to her, her mother allowed her some freedom to be a kid and she finally had someone she could call her friend. She remembers going to the park often with him, though most of those times his father had to force him to. Sei was nice enough, but the thought of trusting a man who could leave at any minute wasn’t something that Yukiko could allow herself to do, so she avoided him as much as she could. Her memories are instead filled with Jasmin. There were times that he was the best brother she could ever have, but then there were times where he was so apathetic to her presence that it irritated her, but he was her best friend, and was always there when she needed him.
The year she turned 13 was a hard one for Yukiko. In the human world, they would’ve described her as being a rebellious teenager, but it was much more than that. She was a Noble vampire, and as such was required to attend soirees; she was a part of the Fukazawa household and needed to make her mark in the vampire world of aristocracy. But things in the vampire world weren’t as easy as the human one; sure the surface was the same, but the underlying emotions were running on thin threads and she didn’t want to be a part of it. The repercussions of her parent’s divorce came back to haunt her. The side-glance at soirees, the hushed whispers from the adults, the invitations she never received, the fact that she didn’t have any vampire friends, it all hurt her, but her mother had a plan.
Misa had long decided that Cross Academy was the best decision she could ever make for her daughter. She had heard about the Academy and of course, as a Noble family, there was a low chance of Yukiko being denied. It was a new environment for all the students attending and it would be a fresh start for her daughter. Perhaps her daughter, despite her foul temper and her life of alienation from her peers, would be able to make friends and blend better with her vampire community.
Family and Other Important People:
- Hiroto - Her biological father and a man who currently holds a seat on the Vampire Council. A man she barely knows and doesn’t hope to know on more than a business level. Yukiko doesn’t remember very much about this man from her childhood, but from what she hears from her mother, she inherited a lot of his traits. She knows that he has taken many women to his bed, but has yet to produce another child. In more recent years, he has visited her on occasion, but nothing is really said. She holds no animosity towards this man, but wouldn’t feel saddened if he were to fall off the face of the Earth.
- Misa - Her mother and the only woman that she has ever cared about. Yukiko loves her mother, even though she often butts heads with her. Misa isn’t the type of person to act in a set class, and sets her own standards for the world. Yukiko admires that her mother doesn’t bend easily to the will of others, but at the same time wishes that she would see constructive criticism as a good thing and not as an insult. She is afraid of her mother going to be hurt in the long run because of her decision to love a human, but stands by her in every step she takes. Vampires live a lot longer than humans, and when Sei is gone, Yukiko will be ready to pick up the pieces.
- Sei - Her stepfather and one of the very few humans she can say that she despises, though she would never tell Jasmin or her mother. Sei has never actually been rude to Yukiko, but he also doesn’t rank very high in her book. She finds him to be an irresponsible father because he seems to adamant about Jasmin’s blood donations, often going as far as to endanger the life of his only son. She knows that this man is able to make her mother happy and that he is one of the closest people to her brother, but sometimes she wishes he were out of the picture.
- Jasmin - Her stepbrother and quite possibly the only true friend she’s ever known. She’s very protective of his ignorance to her world; thinking that it would be easier for them to exist in his world rather than to get him wrapped up in her own. He’s the only person she believes that she can talk to about anything, vent to him, joke with him, be a complete idiot while he’s near, he is her brother after all. She just wishes that he felt the same way about her and hopes that his new surroundings in Cross Academy would help him open up a little more; to her and to other people.
Items of Note:
- When she came to the Academy, Yukiko brought a small collection of her favorite books. They aren’t anything “Special” per se, but she likes to reread them every now and then, the titles ranging from Jane Eyre to Harry Potter, from The Joy Luck Club to Hamlet. She keeps them on a small shelf in her dorm.
- Her favorite stuffed animal that her brother had given to her for Christmas one year. A penguin by the name of Nicholas that she used to cart around with her everywhere she went. She remembers losing him quite a few times as a child, but somehow he always ended up back in her room or on the living room sofa the following morning. He looks old and a little worn, but she loves him just the same.
Character Goals:
- Yukiko would like to be able to create something that she is proud enough to claim as her own. Even with all her lessons, she hasn’t shown any progress with this activity, but keeps pushing herself forward so that that might one day be able to accompany Jasmin in his art studies as more than his model.
- As her father’s only existing heir, the plan is currently for her to succeed him in his seat on the Council. She’s not too sure if that’s what she wants for herself though, and with a personality like Yukiko’s, than there’s going to be problems if she’s forced into what Hiroto likes to refer to as the “Family Business.”
Powers, Abilities and Notable Skills:
Like all other vampires born of the Noble Class, Yukiko was born with a plethora of powers that include things such as fast regeneration, increased speed, acute senses, and the ability to mind sweep normal humans. But of course along with these cookie-cutter powers, each Noble family has powers that have been swept through generation to generation that manifested itself in the Pureblood that once held the head of the lines. The lines aren’t as clean as they used to be, but the powers always shine through, at least, that is how it has always worked with the Fukazawa Clan.
For as long as the Fukazawa’s can remember, their family has always been gifted with affinities of the mind. Some of their ancestors being able to do things such as control the movements of beings lower than themselves; another member was able to control the thoughts of others. The most notable powers that they had seen were manifested in her great-great grandfather and her great-great aunt. A pair of twins; one who had the power to freeze time of the people around them, while the other was able to read minds. While the Fukazawa line isn’t as prestigious as it was once thought to be; Noble powers still run strong in the veins of it’s descendents, always manifesting it’s self in a different way, but never straying too far from the conscious mind.
Blessed with the power of Telekinesis, Yukiko’s manifestation is no different than that of her family’s origin. It’s weaker than what her family remembers it to be, but most of her relatives like to think that it is due to Yukiko’s own lack of self-control. The ability itself didn’t appear until Yukiko was the age of 13, as a Noble teenager living in a human world, she was constantly getting into arguments with her mother that ultimately ended up in tears. The arguments ranged from many things that she now sees as absurd, the only argument that she remembers vividly was the last one they had. The one where her mother had actually tried to physically harm her by throwing a vase in her direction. The vase was light and would barely hurt a Noble vampire, but it caught Yukiko off-guard, throwing her hands up and willing it not to touch her, sending it flying the other direction, abruptly ending the ridiculous argument they had been having.
Before that fight, Misa had assumed that her daughter had been skipped in the gene pool and would receive no powers from the Fukazawa family, and while that disheartened her, she thought that it would make living among humans a little easier on Yukiko and was thankful for it. Afterwards, she hired many special teachers to show Yukiko how to manipulate her power, but none of them got much further than moving small to medium sized objects away from herself. It is assumed that if Yukiko were to put all of her effort into learning how to control her powers, she would be able to manipulate it in ways that would make them more than a small parlor trick, turning it from a toy to something useful.
RP Sample:
Slender fingers flipped through the pages of the small black book she had found on the ground just outside her brother’s door. She had read through the entire thing, knowing that it gave her a glimpse into her brother’s mind. As close as they were, he wasn’t the type of person who ever shared what he was thinking, so the book was like a gold mine. The pages filled with descriptions of the people that passed in and out of her brother’s life, their parents, some teachers at school, a few of his classmates, but she hadn’t seen any mention of herself.
“There’s got to be a mistake.” Yukiko said as she flipped through the pages a bit faster, rereading the profiles he had written on their parents, but seeing nothing on herself. Did the boy hate her that much? So much that even in a book where he had written about their grubby neighbor and the lady who came by for tea each week, he hadn’t taken the time to mention his sister? It was preposterous, imbecilic, crazy, and yet it had still happened.
Yukiko could feel her heartbeat increase as she tried to calm herself down a bit. A part of her wanted to ask him why he had so carelessly left her out of his precious book. A part of her wanted to tear the book to shreds, or throw it in the fireplace, but that would hurt him and as much as she tried to convince herself that he deserved it, it wasn’t true. Her brother had ignored her a lot while growing up, but had always stood up to protect her, even now he protected her, throwing himself in danger for ridiculous reasons.
“Yukiko. What are you doing?” A voice from the doorway was heard and Yukiko’s head turned to see her mother standing in the doorway. Her mother’s strange ability to feel emotions had always given her an upper hand to whether her daughter was lying to her or not, but it wouldn’t help her now. Her mother already thought the boy was a little strange, but loved him just as well. If Yukiko told her that he had kept a book on his thoughts about everyone he met, than mention that Yukiko didn’t have a spot in it wouldn’t do either of them good.
“Nothing Mother. I was actually looking for Jasmin. Have you seen him?” She asked, a pleasant smile on her face. The moment’s pause it took her mother to recognize the change in emotion was enough for Yukiko to disappear and stash the book in her brother’s room. He would never have to know that she had read it.
