OOC Info: Name/Alias: That Kid. Gender: Female Contact Information: PM and e-mail/msn by request~ Other Characters: Guess.
Are you sure you read all the rules?: When he goes vampire-slaying, the headmaster always wears his best dress and make-up. He likes to feel pretty while hunting for monsters in the sewers.
IC Description: Name: Brandy Costel Sterling Frankenstein Stelymes Alias/Nickname: Bee (Only Aeon is allowed to call him that), Costel (by his Madelina) Age: 17 but looks 14 Gender: male Race and Level: Level B: Noble Blood Status: Night Class Student
Appearance: Brandy one could say is a mysterious figure. Despite his age, he looks the age of his younger siblings who are 14. He stands at 5’0” with a petite frame. He doesn’t mind being short because he can hide from the public. Because of his childish features, Brandy has a thin body structure. He doesn’t have a muscular body but more of a sickly child frame.
His skin is pale to the point that he looks very ill (like most vampires). Even though he enjoys being outside, he doesn’t tan because he’s always greeted with a burn of the sun’s rays, leading him to wear clothes that cover most of his body. His hair is light platinum blonde, almost a silver color, and reaches a few inches under his neckline and has a natural thick wave with a small curl at the end. He doesn’t play with his hair because he thinks it’s too much of a hassle, but Lulu always has to fix it when she sees him.
His facial features are more child-like than his frame. He has big eyes and a small thin mouth. His cheeks are a bit rosy and his nose small.
Not only is his hair and skin not the norm, his eyes are also a throw off. Brandy has natural bright blue eyes that seem to seduce anyone who looks his way. He is actually a bit embarrassed about his eye color and will often wear a pair of coppery orange contacts (or some other color). And for fun, he will only wear one of the contacts.
Brandy doesn’t wear the typical clothing of what a normal teen would wear. Being from a family who is in love with steam punk and old age Victorian, Brandy is usually dressed in a dark colored suite or steam-punk style. Most of his shoes and accessories consist of metal and leather. One could say his style is gothic Lolita, but he quickly gets offended and will often correct the person in a cold tone telling them its steam punk. But if needed, he will wear normal clothing but so far no event has been that important.
His favorite pieces of his clothing are his head piece collection. He owns various head pieces and will wear them depending on the day and his outfit.
Personality: Sarcastic, mysterious, silent are only a few words that describe Brandy’s complex personality.
Family: The young teen is very open towards his parents and family members. When he is around them, he’s sociable and that hidden smile and laugh will appear on his face. Of course no one has ever witnessed this side of Brandy. He keeps it hidden because he doesn’t like to socialize with people out of his family unless needed to. For instance, if a teacher asks him to read something or answer a question, he will, but other than that, he won’t volunteer an answer.
Friends: Brandy has few close friends which are scattered around the world, but they’ve made the efforts to come and visit his once in a while. He isn’t as open with his friends as he is for his family, but that doesn’t prevent his from ever talking to them.
Peers: He is not a fan with conversing with other people. In fact, he tries to avoid it as much as possible. Yes, he’ll say hi to someone if they say hi to him (which rarely happens), but after that, he tries to come across as a boring un-interesting person. His replies to people are blunt and non-existent to get rid of them as soon as possible. If they don’t back off he usually is the one to walk away or he flat out doesn’t answer them and doesn’t pay attention to them.
BUT there are the occasional people that he is willing to listen to. Mainly they are the tortured souls who have no idea what they want to do with their lives. He sadly finds enjoyment in listening to stories of anguish. Also, if the conversation is intriguing to him, he’ll listen until it gets boring.
Teachers: His parents always taught Brandy to respect his elders and he does. Even if he isn’t fond of the teacher, he still shows respect including to the lower levels.
Social Class: Brandy doesn’t really care about social class as much as his older cousin Aeonviel does. He understands her reasons and hopes one day she’ll go past what had happen. His views are like Edmund’s. But nevertheless, he treats all vampires with the same respect…unless of course something happens to change his mind.
View on his vampire state: Brandy could really care less about being a vampire. He doesn’t abuse his power like a lot of them and his feelings are pretty neutral about being one. He views it as he was born as a noble-blood and not born into luxury. Brandy doesn’t feel like he is better than anyone because he is a noble blood.
Other Information: Brandy enjoys dissecting animals he finds dead in the school gardens and town roads. His main victims are small rodents and birds, with the occasional human at his Aunt’s lab. He also finds pleasure in reading horror books like 120 days of Sodom, Heart Shaped Box and anything written by Stephen King.
Brandy owns a real skeleton named Petru and has a huge variety of specimen samples he’s collected over the course of 13 years. He only brought his butterfly and frog ones to the school, keeping his other hundreds, next to his organ collection, at home in his private library.
He also has an obsession of collecting the best specimens, especially human organs. The only people who know of that are his cousins and close relatives. Usually if he sees someone who he thinks has the perfect specimens, he’ll try to find a way to get them--but that is a rare occasion.
IC Background: Biography: ~Lineage~ The Stelymes and Aevitas line go back many, many years. The Aevitas go back to Rome while the Stelymes go back the Dacias. Both families have their long past and I have only barely scratched the skin of both histories. ~Wedding bells~ ”Ruxandra, dear sister. I want to introduce you to my business partner and friend I met in university, Dragomir Stelymes.”
“Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Domnule Stelymes~ Hope my brother has been treating you fair,” she replied with a small curtsey.
“Call me Dragomir. Yes, Ruxandra—your brother has been quite fair,” he laughed. “If your brother can deal with me, that’s a good sign.”
That’s how my parent’s introductory conversation started, or at least I’ve been told. My father was a first year in Oxford but transferred to Padua where he met my Uncle Corvus. The two hit it off and in their second year began building their soon to be empire of banks and other series of businesses. My mother on the other hand was attending Sapienza University of Rome.
After they graduated, my uncle introduced my father to my mother. It seemed their first talk led to an instant romance. My mother told me it was my father’s fascination with inventions and open mind that attracted her to him. I could see it, I guess. I can’t blame her. She married a crazy inventor after all.
They married on April 2 in Venice. I was never told how many people attended but I know it was an extravagant wedding.
~My birth~ I was born on August 2 in the birthing room of the family estate. I’m considered a…..vacation child. I think most of you should know what that is, if not, then I’m not going to explain it. I am the first born in the family
My mother told me that I was beautiful baby with platinum threads and sapphire eyes. I was a small baby but I was healthy.
As for my name, Brandy, it’s a female name—I know. But I like it. I don’t really know how it was chosen, but all I know is that it took a week to decide on my name. My mother blames my father for the hesitancy, but I’ve heard tales that my father was drinking Brandy and said it was a beautiful name for an alcohol. I have no idea if that is true or not, but I believe it is plausible, does it not?
~Childhood~ ”Bee stay still! I’m not done putting the bows in your hair!”
“But LuLu~”
“Stop complaining Bee! There, you’re all dressed. Now we can have our tea party.”
My childhood was full of frivolous activities. I attended many events and parties like most noble families, but I didn’t have that sense of over doing something to make my parents proud of me. I wasn’t forced into anything I did not approve of, nor did I do anything my parents wouldn’t have approved of either.
Growing up, I was odd and anti-social (and still am)—my friends were mainly family members and my specimens. My cousins Eddy and LuLu were always my company at parties, and they still are. I’m convinced Lulu would still like to put me into a dress and bows at this age. She always liked doing that. My father would often question why I didn’t push away, but my mother convinced him to not care so much about it.
When I would visit my cousins and aunt and uncle, Lulu and I would play dress up and have tea parties. Heh, she would dress me up in dresses layered with silk and lace. Gold embellishments and jeweled encrusted head bands made me sparkle. I was basically her life-sized doll. Even when I was older, she continued to do so.
Nearing my early teen years, I seemed to focus more on my studies. I would always be found in my library and room looking up various ways of amputation, dissecting and ways to preserve specimens and organisms. I only socialized with my family and others when needed. So I guess I could say I was more inside than I was when I was younger. ~Attending Cross~ ”Costel, darling. I need your help~”
“Why do you need me to move to Japan? So I can make you lazier?”
“Oh sweet pea, I just built a new morgue and I need your expertise… You get to test out some new rib cutters and skull chisels~”
Yup. I ended up in Japan by bribery. My Aunt Madelina knew my weaknesses and promises of playing with bodies always made me do her bidding. It’s a good thing she keeps her promises isn’t it? So I packed up some of my belongings and a few specimens to keep me company on my long travels. I was hesitant to leave my mother country or Romania, but I figured going to such an exotic place would do no harm. Plus, my cousins LuLu and Eddy would be there so I would have good tea and conversation. Also the opportunity to obtain new plant life and specimens convinced me to go as well.
Hopefully the new school and land is what it has promised, if not, well—I’ll be very disappointed. I do hate broken promises, you know…
Family and Other Important People: Dragomir Flaviu Sterling Frankenstein Stelymes: Dragomir is Brandy’s ‘40’ year old father and is known around Romania as one of the most eccentric inventors. He is often in his work shop trying to make crazy steam powered machines. Of course the inventing part is only a hobby. Not only is he an inventor, but a highly respectable business man. He owns a successful bank in Bucharest which leads to the family’s income for the new wealth.
Ruxandra Oana Sterling Frankenstein Stelymes: Ruxandra is Brandy’s sociable ‘38’ year old mother. Like her husband, she is a highly respected and well known in their social class. She lives for teaching etiquette and fashion and has multiple books published on the subjects. Ruxandra is not as eccentric as his husband, but more tranquil like Brandy. Despite their many differences, she and her husband have enjoyed many, and counting, years of marriage full of adventure and antics.
Ilinca Sorina Sterling Frankenstein Stelymes: Ilinca is Dragomir’s wacky younger sister. Like her brother, she enjoys getting her hands on old pieces of inventions and putting them together to make something new. Of course she isn’t as good as her brother but she knows what she needs to work on. The two will often enter in the same inventor contests. She adores Brandy more than anything. Even though Brandy has an obscure outlook on life, he returns the affection Ilinca gives him.
Madelina Georgeta Vladimirescu (Dr. Vladimirescu) : She is the aunt that requested Brandy to come to Japan. She runs many morgues and figured the help of her nephew would allow work to go a bit faster. After all, Brandy loves playing with the dead….
Nicoleta Camelia and Apostol Claudiu Sterling Frankenstein Stelymes: Nicoleta and Apostol are considered the trouble makers of the family, and are Brandy’s younger twin siblings. They will often be found running around the halls of the family house causing mischief and screaming. Brandy will often yell at them for disturbing his studies, but they only do the running around for attention from their older brother.
Corvus Maximilian deum Aevitas: Corvus is the older brother of Ruxandra and uncle to Brandy, Nicoleta and Apostol. He is also a good friend and great business partner to Dragomir. The two men have been working together for many years in expanding their banking business.
Edmund Vincent deum Aevitas: He is one of the most polite people he knows. Brandy sometimes thinks Edmund is too polite, but still adores his older cousin. The two are pretty similar in personality and share the same views and beliefs in a co-existing world of humans and vampires. They have their arguments but they aren’t hurtful, but practice on debating business practices the two boys claim. Brandy often writes Edmund and the two share ideas and thoughts.
Aeonviel Regina deum Aevitas: She is the younger sister of Edmund and Brandy has a high affection level for her. The two had gotten along very well when they were children and still are. Aeon would often dress up Brandy in a frilly dress and bonnet when they were younger. Brandy didn’t complain, and he enjoyed it. The two spent their child hood having tea-parties and balls when they got to see each-other.
Items of Note: -A lace choker his cousin Aeonviel had forced him to wear when they were younger. Brandy seemed to get fond with it during their dress up parties. -Goggles Ilinca gave him when he departed for the Academy. -Watch his mom had designed and his father made for his sixteenth birthday. -And of course his collections of pickled specimens, boxed insects and his skeleton Petru.
Character Goals: Brandy either wants become a Biophysical Anthropologist or a Coroner, and to help in the family business in one way or another.
Powers, Abilities and Notable Skills: He can name all the parts of the body and the systems with in the systems effortlessly. He basically has a knack on the anatomy of different organisms, mainly mammals. He also holds a lot of knowledge of black magic and dark mythology.
Being a vampire, he has the abilities of a vampire like regeneration and so forth. Brandy wields plants which he usually uses to capture important specimens for his…collections…
RP Sample: ”Brandy darling~ the carriage is here!” Ilinca hollered up the quartz and iron spiral staircase of the Stelymes’ summer château in Transylvania. When the 24 year old female of raven hair didn’t hear a response from her nephew, she stomped up the stairs towards the younger boy’s bedroom. Ilinca swung open the heavy oak door. She was a bit taken back at what she saw.
Brandy was sitting at his desk with a jar of preserved human toes in his hands. His blue eyes twinkled in amusement as he watched the toes move around in the liquid. ”Hehehe…I love toes. You’re shape and use to the human body intrigues me. Hehehe…” Brandy’s personal time with his jar of toes was soon ended when he felt something hit his head. He looked up to see his aunt who had hit him with a book. ”Owwiieee~ You’re such a meanie!” the six-teen year old boy whined as he pat his head to comfort the blow from the thick anatomy book.
”You’re carriage is here.”
”Is it that so? God, why must I go to Japan? Stupid Aunt Madelina….”
”You’re parents and I don’t want you to go, but Madelina needs your expertise at her forensics lab. Plus, she thinks the school has a good science department. Getting another’s input on something will be good for you.”
”Just watch it be hell.”
Ilinca had no idea how reply, so all she did was give a sigh. ”Come down when you’re ready.” Brandy watched as his aunt leave his room and closed the oak door behind him. He too sighed. Brandy didn’t want to go to Japan. He hated the fact of leaving his home to a place filled with annoying, preppy people. But the plus side was that his cousins Edmund and Aeonviel were there, and he loved them both to death.
A grumble escaped his lips as he stood up and grabbed his bags. He shuffled downstairs with blank face. Their chauffeur took his bags and carried them to the carriage. Brandy grumbled not wanting to go...at all. Foot-steps of his family echoed through the corridors and stopped in front of him. Ice blue eyes looked at his family and his petit arms hugged each member, each and every one of them wished him good luck and to have a safe journey. ”I called your uncle Corvus and he said that he has notified Aeonviel and Edmund of your arrival. They will meet you at the front gate of the academy. Behave Brandy and try to make some new friends,” Dragomir smiled as he patted his son’s head.
”Yes father.”.
”I’ll miss you Brandy~ Tell your Aunt Madelina and your cousins we say hi. I promise to take care of your specimens when you’re gone,” his mother chimed as she kissed her son’s cheek.
”Thank you mother.”
With the final goodbyes done, Brandy headed out to the carriage. The chauffeur helped the 5’ Romanian prince get in his carriage and soon enough the wheels were bumping on the cobblestone way.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
A black town car pulled up to the front gate of the school around 8pm. So far Brandy saw Japan as an interesting place but not exotic like his cousin Edmund. Maybe it was because has traveled to India and other places in Asia before. The chauffeur stepped out of the car and walked to Brandy’s side of the car. The door opened and the young boy stepped out. Brandy’s arms stretched a bit because he was feeling stiff from the plane ride and the car ride. When done getting back some feeling in his body, his small hands fixed his outfit.
”You’ve done enough for me mister. I can get my own bags,” he smiled as he waved the chauffeur away from the trunk of the car. The chauffeur blinked no knowing how to react. He has never heard someone say it before, but he did do what he was told and that was to back away.
Brandy grabbed his bags and placed them on the driveway. All he needed now was to meet his cousins.
