neutron star collisions Posts: 1,078 Group: Admins Member #43 Joined: May 16, 2010	Hello guys, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a private IRC channel for in-character chats. We had something like this a few months back, but it was browser-based and open to anyone that could join. It was also very unorganized and a hassle to log into. IRC = internet relay chat It's basically a private chat room that will be accessible only to members at this time. I haven't created it yet. Since the chatbox on the main page is usually used for random chats, we can have an in-character chat room for small-scale RP and quick fun! I'm thinking it could be like a server-wide network that Cross Academy would host, and any student, teacher, or other faculty member could log on and talk to each other at any time. Ideas, comments, concerns?

Posts: 50 Group: Accepted Member Member #476 Joined: Sep 11, 2011	Daddy i have a concern. my concern is that we might be able to read and chat there, the guests can not read it and trust me they would love to read some of the things that go on there. But on the other hand we have free rain there and get complete privacy since we don't any where else. so what do you think of guests being able to read it but not being able to post or comment on it?

You enter the channel as a user, so unless I set it so that all users that enter the channel are prohibited from posting from the start, it would mean that I would have to manually change each user's permission settings, which is a lot of work that doesn't need to be done if kept private. However, your concern is noted; I did state that it's only private for the time being, as it's in the trial stages if it happens at all. I don't know if people are going to use it regularly.

I'm not sure how to get a client hosted on a page of the forums, if it's possible. I'll keep looking! I know I don't want to have yet another window open what with the multitasking I make my laptop go through.. ~_~
