Ayumi looked up at Noelle as she took a few more sips out of the glass of cold tea. She hadnt really been trying to hide anything, or make her lies seem like the truth. Her previous tone had been a little sarcastic anyhow. Though, she didnt like that Noelle was probing. Ayumi really didnt want her to find out anything that would cause a stir between them.

After Ayumi's giggles had subsided, she felt like the atmosphere had become less firm. Though she couldnt entirely surrender all of her stiffness in front of this girl. She still appeared so intimidating, and after Noelle noticed she had been lying it only made her feel like she was being put under a lie detector test.

Exhaling in a sigh, she tucked hands under her legs. 'I wonder what she's thinking?' Ayumi wondered, seeing the girl in front of her grow a curious expression. Ayumi couldnt help but feel nervous about whatever questions Noelle might be conjuring. She looked at her, worried but patiently waiting for it to begin.

"Hmm?"

"What am I studying?"

She repeated, trying to give herself time to think; but nothing false arose quick enough.

"Nothing in particular. I guess I dont really need to study much. Im not required to attend all my classes." Ayumi rambled on, not realizing that she was blurting out more then necessary. Her eyes had wondered to the table, to her books, then a brief glance into Noelle's eyes before she looked back down at the table again.

This she had been telling nothing but the truth. She was so perceptive when it came to test taking and school work, that her teachers tried to ignore the fact that she skipped classes frequently. Though they didnt always approve.

Noelle lifted and eyebrow as her eyes glazed over this girl in front of her. She could notice things but she didn't bring them up. The blue haired girl just sipped her tea gently and quietly as she observed. She's hiding like a rabbit from a fox and I'm apparently the fox.

How intriguing. Noelle couldn't possibly think she was a predator, nor did she ever treat someone as prey; but sometimes, it seemed people viewed her as a predator looking for the next breakdown. A small smirk crossed her face but her eyes still. Noelle watched the expression of Ayumi and her mouth as she spoke.

When the girl was finished speaking het hesitant words, Noelle replied with a simple:

"Oh."

Noelle wasn't exactly pleased, but nevertheless there were things in people's lives that didn't needed to be known. She could already feel and see the discomfort and Noelle only smiled. Slightly.

[ooc: late and short. Again, sorry if Noelle sounds mean]

Why was this girl so intimidating to her? Well, besides the fact that she possessed her own unique beauty, and her words and tone were well articulated...What was I- ..right intimidating. Okay yes, she was intimidating. Ayumi wanted to brake the tension that she felt she had created from the start. Though, she didnt quite know how to do that.

Looking up at the tall girl sitting across from her, she blinked trying to search for something to say. She turned her head to look at the pile of books sitting next to her. "Noelle..do you have any friends?" This question was in no way meant to sound rude or probing, she was simply curious.

Ayumi herself-at the moment- only had Jamie, her roommate, in which she considered a friend. She had been hesitant for so long to make new ones, that she rarely talked to her peers. Only in those instances when she felt it entirely necessary; Like when Jamie was assigned to her dorm room so suddenly.

Ever since her old friend died, her last roommate transferred out, and even when Vitra left the Academy so unexpectedly it was easy to say that Ayumi didnt trust people quite so easily anymore.

Though she thought that surely, this girl in front of her must have tons of friends. Tons of people she could confide in. And thinking about this, Ayumi began to feel jealous.

OOC: Didnt reread this, so ignore any grammar mistakes ^^

Noelle looked at this girl when she asked the question about having friends. Friends? She only had a few and she only had ten really close friends, her room mate Raina being one of them. Noelle had more acquaintances than friends, but it didn't really matter to her. She wasn't a girl who wanted to change herself to only fit in. Being different was better for a person than all being the same, being similar, being lifeless and bland. "Yes I have a few close friends, but only a few. When you're 5'11", blue haired and deaf, many people view you as the deadly one. But again, proves that I'm not a boring person. People are too critical sometimes but that's just how society is."

The blue haired girl didn't say another word until after she wiped her delicate lips and flicked some hair off her shoulder. "And you? How many people in this school are close to you?" Again, the questions seemed harsh, but it was the same way as the way Ayumi asked her question on friends.

Sapphire orbs glanced into the face of the young blonde. She seemed to be thinking...to be thinking too hard, too precise.

ooc: sorry it's short, I didn't know what to write..

Ayumi nodded showing Noelle that she was paying attention to her words. Though her eyes were staring into space somewhere in the table, a thoughtful expression furrowed her brow. Her brows furrowed, as she contemplated the words uttered by the girl in front of her. 'She's right. People are too judgmental.' Ayumi surely understood this quite clearly. She lived in it every time she went back home.

".Huh?" the girl muttered somewhat shaken by Noelle's question. She wasnt sure how to answer this. There were people, well, a person that she liked, but none that she felt truly close to. Even though Jamie was her roommate, she was still being quite distant to her. So a relationship with even her roommate was difficult. "Um...Well.." Ayumi continued to put off her reply, trying to search for a lie, something, but nothing arose.

"Im-...Im not close to anyone." She finally replied dismally. Looking back up at Noelle through her bangs, feeling somewhat ashamed of her pathetic status. Before her friend died, she had been popular, bubbly and happy. But after that tragic event things seemed to just get worse, and Ayumi wasnt the type to handle stress well. She had shut herself from everyone.

OOC: this reply sucks -__- ...lol ^^

”Huh, really? You have this look of popularity to you, but everyone is different. For me, if I have one person that I can really lean on; I know I’m fine until the day I day. Sometimes it takes a while to find that person, but patience is important for relationships; and sometimes the best relationships are already in front of you. People just need time and all someone can do is to wait.”

Noelle looked at the girl and noticed a glass about to shatter over her face. Ayumi looked scared and nervous. She must’ve had a horrible childhood or a tragic incident… The only drama that had so far filled Noelle’s life was the divorce of her parents, losing her dog Tin-Tin (whom she and Solomon loved dearly), and the most current, being told from her secret lover, Solomon, that they must end for her safety and happiness.

The blue haired girl found it pointless to explain how life was so cruel, because from the look on this other girl’s face, she was experiencing the tragedies life held.

"Look of popularity?" Ayumi repeated curiously. She had no idea what that meant, nor was she certain if it was an insult or a compliment. Nonetheless, the girl laughed a dainty giggle, covering her smile trying to hide her blush as well. I suppose she simply thought it comical that Noelle perceived her this way, while Yumi had done the same to her.

She agreed that it was always best to have one person to share a closeness with. But, she had somewhat given up; or at least for a while. They had left and given up on her, so why should she try so hard to make friends when the chances of them leaving someday were so great. "Im scared...I dont want that to happen, again." Ayumi muttered under her breath, her eyes glazing over after thinking about those previous events. Not even realizing she had spoken those words meant to be mere thought, she glanced up at Noelle. A worried expression in her eyes.

Ayumi, had experienced a closeness with Jamie before. Strangely enough, it was the second night of her arrival. Though it was excruciatingly embarrassing to admit she suffered from such horrible nightmares, let alone with out her consent, Jamie had comforted her rather then being scared or truly caring less. Regardless of this, Ayumi was still too afraid to get close to that girl. 'What if she left. Surely she would have to leave, and return to her home after graduating Cross.' It was inevitable. She couldnt get close to her.

Noelle could read Ayumi's face and see she was in pain. For now she could only talk. She wasn't close of to know her problems to comfort her, and for now, Noelle knew it was best to end this conversation. Time could only heal half the heart and soul. Another person heals the other half.

"Ayumi...for now, you need to rest your heart. Relax and find your inner self. For that to happen, we should stop talking. I think continuing to talk right now is only worsening the situation." Her voice was soft and caressing. Comfort and kindness pouring out. Ayumi needed to rest and think. This girl needed someone to open up to and the only she could think was Jamie. Jamie was the only close person to Ayumi that Noelle could think of. If the two could spark a connection, it'd be best for both of them.

Noelle cleaned everything up and stood up. "Let's walk back towards the dorm. I think we both need to rest."
