There are seven countries on Rend, known as Re, En, Fo, Ore, and Est.![]() Re {Ray} is the kingdom closest the shard, in the east of the continent running south from the north pole. It's almost completely consumed by desert caused by the Crystal Meteor. En {In} runs along the coast. Most settlements here are built near the coast-line, where it's relatively moist, unlike further inland. Communities here revolve around fish and products obtained from the ocean, such as salt. The country is 'thin' but heavily populated. As such, they also have a strong military, which remains on standby until they're threatened. Fo {Foe} is west of Re. Much of it is plains and grasslands, while settlements are built near the sparse forests or along the rivers. Life here is simple and built upon subsistence. The common diet includes a meat (particularly bison or buffalo) bread, dairy, and corn. Ore {Or-Ay) is located on the southern edge of Re. The entire country is desert, and it only survives by trading its large supplies of ore (No pun was intended, I swear!) for the tools to maintain their wells and dams. It's the smallest country. Est {Est} takes up most of the south pole. Due to the unnatural desert from the Crystal Meteor, much of the south pole has melted and flooded over. Cities here are built upon rare blocks of stone jutting out of the water, and several cities are actually built on platforms rigged above shallower water. Like En, Est's economy is largely dependent on the water. However, most of the water is fresh, though it becomes saltier as you reach the edge of the country. Est is, as expected, sparsely populated. Edge is the frontier land. No one's visited it, but not for lack of trying. Most of the role play will take place on Rend. (And you must start on Rend.) Though I warn you, don't head out to Edge first thing, unless you have a lot of PC Runesinger allies. Of course, if you're confident in your abilities and go alone, I'm sure the sea wouldn't mind another permanent resident. Edited by Maestro, Monday, 3. August 2009, 16:11.
