I stand no chance to improve anymore. I lose all the time and I lack the potential for any sort of growth. I can't handle losing, for that matter, and I hate the fighting game community. All they do is talk shit and generally act like assholes. I don't belong in any sort of community, and they've always brought me nothing but trouble. |

Trust me, I kind of feel the same too. Our group is not quite in the same respect as most people when being competitive, so that is why I can handle fighting games in our meetings. That is another reason why I stopped playing them unless our group provides the entertainment. |

I wanted to improve. I wanted to be great and possibly go to Evo one day, but I was stupid for ever thinking that. Also, like I already said, the fighting game community is shit and I hate most of the people involved. It's especially true with people in town. They're some of the biggest assholes I've ever met.

Well I can understand your position, there is really no point in playing games if they aren't fun at all. With that reasoning you have a really valid point. Btw Danny, can't agree more in what you said, I'm not really into fighting games, but there are some meetings where hilarious things happen when we try some of those. |

Words couldn't be any truer, Nestor. The fact is, I've lost interest in videogames in my early-to-mid twenties because they weren't interesting me anymore. Only now am I getting somewhat back into it and even then, I've gotten very picky with what I get. However, since we are talking about fighting games, I'll admit that I'm not all that great either, and while getting your ass handed to you in game gets a little frustrating at times, it doesn't stop me from having fun with my friends, or playing solo. This past Monday, I got a copy of Soul Calibur V for a few things: One being because I enjoyed playing Soul Caibur III and IV, when I was still new to the VGAC. In fact, recall beating almost everyone in our group, with Siegfried in a meeting, when Kevin brought it over, to show us his Soul Calibur custom characters, which leads to why I ultimately got Soul Calibur V and what attracts me to it: Character Creator. I've always liked games that give gamers the option to put their own creations in a game. I think it makes the game more interesting and appealing. Plus, it makes the game more unique, especially when you've spent hours on end, bringing one of your own original characters to life. Last night, I witnessed Sonic Man beat the ever living crap out of Elysium and I felt like a kid at a toy store, and was up until 1:00 AM, perfecting my character, but only because I find the creative process relaxing and fun. This goes back to what Nestor said: Once games stop being fun, it's time to put down the game pad and find something else that'll bring you joy. Jason, I'll leave you with something to think about: A man's happiness is based on his passion. Without passion lies no happiness; without happiness, there's no will. Anyhow, that's my two cents.
