How many people in here play the original Starcraft still? I know it's come up a bit, but I was curious exactly how many. I think I might like to get back into RTS, and the Battle Chest is going for about $15 bucks online, game/expansion/guides for both. Downloaded a cracked version to try it out. I like what I see so far. However, some of the graphics are a little buggy. It might be the fact that this game is patched, so I'm not gonna worry too much about it. I'm getting a different download now. But just in case the official version I ordered online also has the same problems on my system, anyone willing to buy this pack off of me? Anyhow - post up your thoughts on it if you play. |

I still play, and as of late I play quite a bit too because this happens to be the only game I have installed on my laptop. I here tell there be a way to play on an LAN connection at UTEP, but I keep forgetting to ask whoever pointed that out to me (was it MexiMike maybe?) to explain how to do this. |

I play from time to time. Might I suggest starting a campaign?? I'm sure it'd be worth trying out with a group.

Well, I found something on eBay that I won. The Battle Chest came with the original game and the Brood Wars expansion, plus guides for both, so I guess that should answer most of my questions about the game. On a side note, it also came packaged with 2 different discs for WoW, I'm guessing one to be an expansion. Supposedly two keys are included, but the seller wasn't sure if they'd work. Not really caring for this extra bit since I can't even find time to play the MMOs I'm already subscribed to. Not a bad haul if I may say so - 10 bucks for the whole deal. Should be here in a few days. Seller won't send it any way other than UPS though, so I have to wait for those lazy bastards to take Saturday off, so I probably won't get it until Monday or Tuesday. |

There is no campaign for multiplayer. (Unless if one has a special custom made map for it) Most multiplayer formats include either free for all or team battles against one another. |

I just replayed the original campaign a while ago, although ever since I saw the Koreans play I don't do online anymore. |

Thanks for the clarification, Nick. Noah, Danny, Thomas and I sometimes play over at Thomas's place, since we're able to establish a connection at his place for a group. I was thinking how cool it'd be if those of us who do play all got together and gave it a shot. Now, as much as everyone here knows how much I'd love to suggest the Union, I'd say let's try elsewhere, since UTEP Wi-Fi isn't network gaming friendly, should we decide a time and place for a Starcraft session. |

A gaming session would be in order, for sure. If and when there's a time my place is available, we can do it there. I just have to find out where my WLAN passkey is so I can get the other computers onto the network. In the meantime, I was thinking of using a multiport hub and we could connect to each other via ethernet cable. Only downside to this is that we'd each need a cable. Not a long one though. I think my switch has 4-5 ports, not really sure. After I get done working on the boards today I'll start searching around the net and see what I can find out about it. |
