Some of the stuff we watched semester was pretty good, Umineko I unfortunately missed the end of. I give dubs a shot, although few really make it work. We loved Kuroshitsuji in here, but when they brought it as Black Butler, I wept at Ep. 1. The butler is Prof. Layton's voice, but it just misses the intent of the character. Too much English Butler, not enough Demon. I loved the voices for FMA. I've seen it in both languages, and that one I prefer in English. (Completely aware Vic is a douche, still like Edward's voice). Sometimes I have to do English - with homework, driving on trips, or focusing on the kid, sometimes I can't rely on reading subs. |

The "Zombie" thing is alright, but it makes little sense. The one I can safely say I don't really like is the one with the blue-haired girl and the red-haired one that have those demon seeds or whatever. What are they, witches? That series makes no sense. I've been reading Parasyte and it's excellent. I also really like Vampire Hunter D, although the first movie was a bit odd, but the novels are awesome. |

I'd swear I've heard Vampire Hunter D before. But I have no idea in what context I've heard it. Who was the lead person in that series, and what was it about? |

Ah, I remember watching it in high school like it was yesterday. A quick flashback: For Halloween, the anime society at UTEP was screening the premiere of Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, which was a sequel. My eldest brother invited me to go and had rented the first one the day before to watch. Vampire Hunter D takes place in the distant future, where the world is overrun by the creatures of the night, ruled by vampires and Demons while humankind is treated like cattle: hunting food for the vampires. There are some humans who fight back as vampire hunters: one of them being our lead character, a hunter notoriously known by both humans and vampires who calls himself "D". He is hired by a female huntress for protection, as she is the target of a nearby Count who desires her as his next bride to be. It isn't Dracula, although the vampires revere him as a God. The only other thing I will say is the this is a violent and weird movie so if you dare to watch, be prepared for it to try to mind screw with you.

Vampire Hinter D: Bloodlust. Now I recall why I remember this series, it was because this was shown at UTEP a while back. I thought it looked promising when I saw the ads for this to be shown, but was unable to see it when it premiered here. That said, it did look like it would have one of those depressing as hell kind of endings. At any rate, thanks for the info. |

It's good, but the animation felt a bit off, but then again, the first movie was made in the late 80s. Amano has amazing artwork for it and the novels, and also did Coffin: The Art of Vampire Hunter D, which I own. The novels are really what you should check out. There are some manga graphic novels, but I haven't read them and I'm not entirely convinced they're accurate to the original books. |

alrighty then, korewa zombie desu ka doesnt make a lot of sense, i'll give you that. there IS some story behind it but it doesnt really kick in until later episodes. as for madoka, that thing is pure awesomeness, but you NEED to see it from the start. of course you're not gonna get it if you see just one or two episodes. so, yeah IT MAKES SENSE. just gotta see it from the begining. now, just to add insult to injury. /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ WON’T YOU BECOME A MAGICAL GIRL? forgot to mention, parasyte is awesome. go look up anything by Junji Ito. you wont be disappointed...unless you're squeamish. |

Parasyte's good, but (regarding that "Madoka" shit) I've seen better action in other series with more interesting plots. These ones are more readily accessible, even if you haven't seen the first episode. It's also just boring.

So it's wrong of me to not like an anime that other people do. |
