Over the weekend, out of sheer boredom, I Googled "Swimming Anime" just to see what Google would bring up, out of curiosity, when I stumbled upon Kenkou Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho, a thirteen-episode series, which takes place in seaside town of Umineko City [LOL Umineko save the crazy girl obsessed with witches!] and Umineko Shogyo High School's swim team.

The story tells of Okiura Kaname, the manager of Umisho's swim team, whom is afraid of the water, after an incident that happened to him at the beach, years ago when he was "pulled by a mermaid."

Kaname initially joined the swim club in order to learn how to swim, but Umisho's swim team is comprised of weirdos who, unfortunately don't teach him how to swim.

After having one hell of a time, dealing with either unhealthy torrents (one had dual audio, avi files but it was in Japanese and Russian, without subs! ::WTF::) or a lousy Wi-Fi connection, I managed to obtain all thirteen episodes (plus the trailer) via MegaUpload and after the first episode (now finished with episode 3) all I can say is I haven't laughed this much in a long time.

@Carlos: Ever hear of this series?? Knowing you and your vast collection, I'd like to say that you have.

Anyhoo, I'll be showing it in the lounge downstairs tomorrow [Tuesday, March 1, 2011] if anybody is interested and wishes to join me. I will say it's funny (if not funnier than Seto no Hanayome) and worth viewing.

Really? Wow. Part of had this feeling you've never heard of it. Okay, I'll be honest, I never heard of this either until yesterday and it's very hilarious and I can guarantee that it's anything but shit.

Think Seto no Hanayome meets Eye Shield 21, and replace football with olympic swimming.
