Internally, Tharien was cursing Starngatha with every fibre of his being, he couldn't reach out with his magic to do anything, and he was being forced into fighting with Aerendis. He would make sure that she suffered greatly before she died if he could help it. All he could do was try and examine this power that had him in its grip so as to better fight his way out of the domination.

oOo

The wilden looked around, his amber eyes wide in confusion as he took in the sight of the lab. Being underground wasn't too foreign to him, but once again being in a structure threw him off slightly. Whatever this place he had ended up in, he didn't want to be here, and he didn t want to try his luck at re-entering the fire to get out.

Cautiously the child-like being made his way to the door and, if the cost was clear, he would peak out, alert for anything out of the ordinary as he tried to make his way out of the witch's clutches.

Of course maybe the witch was hoping that she could make Tharien fight Aerendis but Aerendis would not fight Tharien. Besides there was a perfectly viable target in front of him and for now Tharien's magic wasn't hurting him much at all. Throwing himself at the witch he struck out with his blade again only to be parried again unable to land a blow on the woman. Tharien broke free of the domination, Starngatha felt her spell end uttering a curse at her luck. It was unusual for the spell to wear so quickly but perhaps it was also the forest fighting back against her.

Beams of black shot from her staff striking once at Aerendis and Tharien in an effort to distance them from herself. The attacks would force them back as intended but she had run herself dry of methods to dominate the elves further.

---

In the hidden part of the tower Ea came tumbling into the room following Rillas who appeared no longer to be dominated but was peeking into the prison adjacent. He would hear the cries of animals and people from Wrathwood in their steel cages. Some of the cells had scenes of gore and animals had been thrown in with their dead brethren. The Tiefling had discerned in the room previous that the devices were previously used and some of the blood in the prison would be fresh. Thankfully for them though the ones still alive were healthy due to the nature of needing a strong 'specimen'.

All animals were sorted with other animals of the same species but at the end of the hall it became noisiest when one of the humanoids smelled the Wilden's approach. A loud goat's call could be heard echoing as the bars rattled. Along with the Moonclan rather mistakenly were some Razorclaw and Longtooth shifters who picked up on the same smell.

"Plant one! plant one!"

The Moonclan shouted over and over again rattling his bars with all his strength stirring up the other creatures of the forest.

The moment Tharien was free he used fey step to move well away from the female spell user, a pinioning vortex forming around her as he spat out a few words in abyssal, a magic missile fly from his sword as he spun around to face her. "You're gonna regret that" he hissed venomously, the power buiding within him causing his eyes to glow just a little bit more.

oOo

The wilden's eyes narrowed dangerously as he took in the sight of all the creatures of Wrathwood being held imprisoned in the tower, rage filling his small body, if he had blood it would be boiling, tilting back his head a deep rumbling cry spilled from his lips, so loud it could be heard resounding through Wrathwood, echoed by the plants of the forest, the rage and hatred easily detected. It was chilling in a way, a primal call promising vengeance. His arms bulged, hardening to a consistancy of bark, growing as if they were branches of a tree.

With an angry motion he wrenched at the doors of the cages, trying to rip them clear off their hinges, plants growing from verdant bounty branching in between the joints and pressing against them in order to make the effort easier, combined with feat of strength. He would remove all the doors of the cage before continuing onwards, the look on his face promising nothing but pain and suffering for the woman who had captured the creatures of the wood.

This time the vortex held her as the missile struck true and Aerendis was about to launch his own attack when a curious rumbling could be felt and heard. He was unable to complete the stroke instead being reduced to covering his ears even three rooms from it's source. Ea was no exception as she was brought to her knees by the cries from all of Wrathwood, soon after the roar of fury a pattering on the surface could be heard. Like a stampede of animals but that didn't matter for the moment.

Following the Wilden they would come to a hall looking out into the room where the Eladrin they had battled were before. Curiously you could see out but not in as an illusory wall was placed over the opening. Quickly Ea marched behind the animals and their ring leader towards Starngatha's lair, by the time they got there the noise from the surface had gone from thumping to a crashing as if something great and heavy had struck the ground.

Bursting into her room were the freed prisoners like an endless wave of rage. Wrathwood had it's way with the traitorous Eladrin who forsook it's arcane protection over the land.

The small Wilden stormed through the corridor, Amber eyes wide and almost unseeing, his mouth wide open as creaking groans spilled forth, the unnatural sound almost like the movements of trees in a strong wind. To anything that could understand him, he would be placing every curse upon her that he could, the tower seeming to shake with his every step despite his small stature.

He entered the room with Stargatha as quickly as he could, another deep bellow pouring forth from his chest as he gestured sharply with both hands, thorny vines growing from underneath the witch of wrathwood. No dome did these vines form, instead they grasped at limb and flesh, curling around with no care for the pain that they would cause. Eventually sharp tips would press against her as the vines tried to burrow into her body, where they would curl around bones, and haul her aloft without causing fatal damage. If that was sucessful the would push her out through the nearest window, leaving her to hang from the spined plants until she died.

Tharien managed to come to his knees in time to watch the Wilden's furious attack, stunned by not only the actions but the sounds that the little being was causing.

Suddenly what could only be described as a cacophony of noise erupted and Starngatha was carried away by brambles. The animals of Wrathwood raged and made a grand old mess of things, Ea slipped by them to rejoin her companions checking them for injury. Just to be sure she sang a hymn of restoration to ease battle weariness. After all was said and done there was nothing to do but leave the wretched place, the world above seemed different after the ordeal and it was a great deal brighter.

The tower had collapsed around them and creatures were making as much a fuss as the ones following the Wilden previously only there were a lot more of them. All at once they disappeared and the ground underneath shifted no doubt destroying the last of the witch's presence. Remaining were the four Eladrin from earlier seeming much better now than before probably due to the purity of arcane now feeding them.

"Unfortunately we cannot reward you but I am sure you came to our aid by accident."

He removed his sallet carrying it under arm with the three other elves watching carefully.

"I am Mithrendain and these are my companions Zhent the mage, Anise the warrior and-"

"They do not need to know my name."

The female of them hissed keeping her identity hidden for reasons unknown.

"Right... well anyways I am the guard captain of Majharn and I would not hesitate to reward you if you escorted me back that way."

Tharien stared at the other eladrin, looking at his companions for a long moment before turning back to stare at Mithrendain, rubbing at the scar on his cheek absently at the reminder of Majharn, "I am sorry, but I do not think it would be a good idea for you to go to Majharn at this time" his hand dropped away as he turned away slightly, watching the tower being destroyed by Wrathwood rather than the group of Eladrin they had saved.

"We came from a village up by the sea, we can take you to it. That would be the best place I believe", he watched as the childlike forest spirit seemingly directed the plants of wrathwood as they slowly passed the dying Starngatha from plant to plant, by the time she reached the edge of Wrathwood she would be dead, and her body hurled as far away from the forest as possible.

"Oh but we have no time for detours as I must report Starngatha swiftly dealt with. Thanks to your help she's been put out of action in less than a day."

Slowly the forest came to a calm state still shifting here and there. It was another long moment of silence before Ea's voice cut through it like a knife.

"I remember you now Mithrendain from when I was younger. You and your group were reported dead ten years ago, since then Majharn has befallen tragedy and it would be best to listen to our wizard. The survivors Majharn now take residence in Highvale."

He too had recognized the Tiefling as she was the only Tiefling that took residence in Majharn but his face twisted attempting to fathom the reality of such events. It wasn't that he couldn't trust their word but simply the fact he didn't want to.

"We will go alone then to Highvale."

Without further exchange of words the group of four departed the vitality draining from their movements as they left the clearing.

"Well, I suppose we should move on, I'd like to be well away from here before night falls, I don't want to sleep so close to her former base" Tharien said quietly, subdued by Mithrendain's words, the thought of Majharn's destruction had been somewhat repressed, the reminder almost hurting physically.

The small Wilden had wandered over, seeming a bit more at ease now that the worst of Starngatha's rape of Wrathwood was over, "We will travel with you" he said, his voice having returned to the childish alto that he normally possessed, seemingly unphased by the deep roaring noises that had previously been emitted from his small frame, "you have done us a service in removing the rot that was infecting us, and we shall repay you by aiding you in your own endevour" he stared at them, unmoving or unblinking, a rather disconcerting sight for the Eladrin wizard, though he would never admit it.

"Um...I don't know" Tharien looked at his companions, unsure of what to think "I'm sure you would rather stay here"

"We will travel with you" the being repeated, the only part of his body that moved was his mouth, the rest was completely still.

"If you were planning to rest on my behalf wizard then don't worry about it. I know you elves don't need to rest at all."

Even so the forest appeared to be fine now and by fine that meant stopped attacking everything in a twisted form of protecting them from Starngatha. Her gaze fell on the creature whom she'd selflessly tried to save before and part of her wrestled with why she did such a thing.

"Why deny it's help Tharien? I'm sure it could give those humans a good run for their money."

Aerendis spoke kneeling down to stare into the Wilden's unmoving gaze with his own. It was indeed a pure creature with no other intentions than a prime directive it seemed. The group would move now out of the forest and onto the path leading either to Aerenal or passing by Majharn much further down.

"Something has been bugging me since the day of the attack. That is to ask why you opened that gate so hastily?"

"We might not need to rest, but that doesn't mean we can't, and dealing with that witch has left me uncomfortable" Tharien responded cooly, a mild frown on his face which tugged at his scarred cheek. He was a little antsy, first the fight with Starngatha had not gone particularly well for them, even if they had won, and after that the forest creature's rampage had certainly shaken him. He could still hear the resounding cries that had emanated from the small being and been echoed by all of Wrathwood, he didn't think he could ever forget that sound for as long as he lived. It certainly instilled a healthy measure of respect for the forest in him.

He turned at Aerendis' question, biting his lip as he considered his answer "Well...his place is here isn't it? I mean..." he couldn't really say that it was the Wilden's young appearance that made him hesitate to drag the being with them. He couldn't help but see Divayth in the forest spirit's place, and the thought made cold fingers grasp his heart.

"We are the ones to decide where our place is" the Wilden responded, still staring at the wizard

"If you're coming with us you're going to need a name, we can't just go 'hey you' all the time" he said finally, his lips pursed as he gave up his attempts to pursuade the young one to stay here, instead following the others as they made their way through the forest.

"We do not see the point in such a thing" the small being protested, following the much taller eladrin and tiefling

Ea's question shocked the wizard out of his musings on a name for their newest companion, a lump in his throat almost prevented him from speaking, "a human wandering Majharn with a drow blade and a valuable gem he couldn't have legitimately gotten...I just wanted him gone from our realm and fast" his voice was almost a whisper, "I suppose we should have killed him on the spot"

"Kill him? that's a rather rash thing to do isn't it?, I guess a bunch of foreigners couldn't have known the purpose of the gate anyways."

Ea hastened her pace walking along side the Wilden who'd joined the group out of hardship much like herself. Quickly she poked it out of sheer curiosity before falling back to stare absent minded at the plant life. There was definitely less of an ominous aura and no shadows following them around this time but as they came to a clearing they were stopped by a group of Moonclan.

The creatures were drooling and some of them headbutting one another, braying and otherwise making noise. A black fur chieftain was the one who initially approached the group speaking to the Wilden. He presented the 'child' with an heirloom which was really just a piece of old leather threaded through some sort of tooth.

"Rillas."

Was the only tangible word it uttered from it's mouth before a series of guttural noises escaped his throat. Beyond this clearing was an open field, to the right would be Aerenal in the distance and to the left Majharn. The large worn dirt path they would face was known as the Nomad's Way.

"You asked" the wizard muttered to himself, pulling his cloak closer around himself defensively. He really didn't appreciate the reminder of what their actions had caused, and it made him fold in on himself so to speak. The teenage spell user wouldn't respond to anyone after that, simply focused on his own thoughts.

The wilden boy didn't respond to Ea's poke with anything more than a sidelong glance, though for some reason he was tempted to poke her back. He shook off that feeling though, it was completely unecessary after all, and a waste of time and energy. His attention was quickly turned by the Moonclan that stopped their travel. They were odd creatures, but then to him, most creatures were. He took the tooth and leather offering, threading it around the vine that served as a belt for the plant matter he wore as clothing/armour. He nodded gravely to the forest creature in thanks, before turning to face the individuals that he had chosen to accompany.

"Is Rillas a name that can be used? If we must have one"

"If that is what you wish for us to call you."

Aerendis stated staring at Tharien while scratching his chin looking up and down the path. It was clear for but a second and then a caravan approached them, it was clearly a trader's caravan. On top of it sat a blond female in ragged clothing shackled by her hands and ankles with chain and metal cuff. The bindings were ornate and beautifully crafted as was most of the gilding on the caravan.

In front of it walked a gaudy dressed Eladrin wearing a feathered beret, the vehicle appeared to be operated by nothing.

"Hail travelers, it looks like that forest is finally safe to pass through. Well safe for one as heavily armed as that man."

He gestured at Aerendis before continuing to speak to the group.

"Might I interest you in some wares? my destination is Majharn so you only have one chance to shop from my mobile home."

"We care not what we are designated, it shall suffice if you are to insist upon it" the newly dubbed Rillas said dismissively, wandering alongside the others without doing much of anything else.

Tharien started at the sound of the merchant's voice, turning to look at the gaudy merchant, "You don't want to go to Majharn, trust me" he said a little bitterly, a hand tracing the scar of his cheek absently, "Anyway, lets see what you have merchant, and then you'd best choose a new destination to take your wares" he finished, sea green eyes flicking up to lock onto the gaudily dressed eladrin

"Even if it were not in my best interest to go there I still have to travel that way."

With a gentle gesture of his hand a panel on the side dropped away revealing nothing more than expected from mystic merchants. Magical items and components were vibrantly displayed inside with a myriad of jewelry no doubt designed by 'his' Artificer.

"It is all fairly priced I assure you."

The man said with his eyes glinting by the light of day.

Tharien glanced over the items the merchant displayed, his face impassive despite recognising a few things that he thought were black market goods at the least. There was nothing that got his attention beyond those artefacts that for one reason or another repelled his sensibilities. The small wizard tucked a lock of his hair behind his ear casually before turning his attention back on the merchant, schooling his expression into casual disinterest.

"It seems there's nothing in particular here that I have need of...I would still suggest that you avoid Majharn merchant, for it is naught but rubble and human constructs now, and I doubt any not of their kind could get within twenty paces of the place" he remarked, turning back to his companions, "and I have it on good authority that its going to get quite dangerous there very soon" he finished.

"We do not like that one" Rillas stated quietly, his unusual eyes never wavering from the merchant, "It carries things that should not be...there are spirits trapped within its objects, they cry out"

"Fair enough."

The man snapped leering quietly at Rillas before turning his attention away and mounting the caravan before him. With great speed it went down the path as he waved shortly to the group. Aerendis had been staring at the dirt for most of the encounter chancing glances at the artificer while Ea twiddled her thumbs silently mulling over the wares.

"I get the feeling that man is insincere though I'm sure you'd all have felt the same."

Spoke Aerendis still staring at the dirt road as they marched for their destination generally uninterrupted as was the way of Nomad's Path. It would not be long from now until the Day Watcher beset the Fey with the brand of darkness known as night. With the sun still deceivingly high it would soon drop unexpectedly raising Sehanine's moon to shower the elven land in lunar power.

Tharien simply huffed as he stared in the direction of the departing merchant, "there was something quite off with him, I'm glad he has left, I feel that only bad news could come from having dealt with him" the wizard remarked as he pulled his cloak closed around his small frame, "anyway, let us continue onwards, we still have a distance to travel before we reach Majharn after all.

Rillas shuffled slightly, his vines quivering and the buds around his neck tightening slightly, his amber eyesfixed on the ground before his feet "we do not like that one at all, he carries taint on him, and ill fortune. His blight is small yet, so there is naught yet that we can really do, and we understand that you have different goals in mind" the Wilden whispered as he followed the wizard down the path, the child-spirit's demeanour obviously subdued.

The group continued onward towards Majharn, quickly the daylight fell as Sehanine's moon raise proudly into the sky showering the Fey in a shimmering silver light that danced on the leaves of numerous nearby trees. In the presence of the lunar eye everything felt safe and there was little life to be found along the path save for a Phystal and it's Dryad spirits following and watching from the brush. Through trees they passed and even hid mostly wary of the Tiefling but naturally kindred towards the Elves and Wilden.

It was an oddly peaceful setting for a journey towards what would surely be the first sparks in a large scale battle for freedom from the tyranny of Jolindur. Soon the Phystal's curiosity got the best of it and it sent some of it's Dryad spirits towards the four. They brushed against Ea quickly before one of them cupped Rillas' face with it's ethereal hand but they were most attracted to the elves dancing around playfully and giggling as they approached. The spirits flickered and caused Sehanine's moon to cast an odd kaleidoscope pattern of light over the two Eladrin.

"Why are you so troubled my sons?"

The Phystal hissed with a raspy voice from the brush passing through a tree as it spoke.

Tharien enjoyed the light of the moon as they travelled, the forest had become peaceful once more and there was something serene about travelling through Wrathwood in the night time. It was different from the darkness of Shadowfell, less opressive and melancholy, it was nice. Of course, the open relaxing walk was cut short the appearance of a Phystal, but he tried to pay the spirit no mind, trying to maintain the relaxed attitude he had been able to gain. Even when it approached he only acknowledged it with his attention, choosing not to speak.

Rillas on the other hand had simply been basking in the cleanliness of his home, and now watched with curiousity as the Phystal and its dryads approached. "We are curious as to what we are seeing..." he stated quietly, in a manner that could almost be mistaken as shyly....if he actually could be shy.

"Noble creature of the Fey."

The Phystal spoke as it strode out to the middle of the path they were journeying down, as it adjusted the bow it held it's dryads danced back towards the trees curiously peering out from behind them. Before speaking again the creature's form appeared to flicker as if waning or even struggling to remain bound.

"I am dead and ignored by the living. Your curiosity is only empowered or dispelled now."

Aerendis stopped walking and folded his arms shivering very slightly then threw his head back staring up at the moon as his gloved hand retrieved the star from it's pouch. His eyes fell on the Phystal just as he brought the star up to face it. The area was illuminated by a circle of floating arcane glyphs creating a hallowed circle of godly radiance.

"What binds you to our world spirit? Be gone and rest!"

He was unusually indignant however both Ea and the Phystal shrank away from the light though Ea up to this point hadn't understood a word anyone said. The Phystal howled and hid itself from the arcane light.

"I have been anchored here by another."

"Anchored by whom? And why?" Tharien queried, his sea green eyes staring at the Phystal cooly. He had been trying to ignore the spirit, but with Aerendis' reaction it really wasn't worth it anymore. The wizard figured that they were going to end up removing the anchor before they went to Majharn. The paladin obviously didn't want to just let the Phystal be, and really he himself shouldn't have taken that attitude considering the goddess he had been raised to revere.

Rillas just stared, unsure of what was happening, completely innocent to the workings of the deceased and the attitudes of the living towards them. His head was cocked to one side as he contemplated the interaction between the Phystal and the two Eladrin

"A wizard of the Spiral Tower."

"Is it a Shade?"

Ea asked out of the blue stepping into Aerendis' circle after asserting the situation though she was just as lost as Rillas was. Aerendis had nothing to say or ask at the turn of events and could only think. If a wizard did it there must be a reason but the fact of the matter didn't change at all, the Phystal was bound without purpose.

"If this was done carelessly by another Eladrin I can't help but feel the sense of camaraderie is gone from our race."

Aerendis stated as he put away the star while banishing his own light from the area. He was able to confirm that it was an actual Phystal and not some marauding revenant playing games. They had a choice now of continuing to deal with it or moving onward.

"We don't have the time to go gallivanting after some fool in that tower" Tharien remarked in distaste as he turned from the Phystal, "if we take too long we risk the humans entrenching themselves too deeply for us to dig out, and that is the greater of the two evils here I think" he announced irritably, sweeping some of his hair out of his face as he did so. Loathe as he was to simply allow the dead to wander freely, if the Humans were allowed to establish a proper foothold in the Fey then they would have much greater problems on their hands.

If you give us a name we can look your binder up when we have more time, and then you may pass on as you should have he stated, looking the spirit in the eyes with his sea green orbs.

Rillas turned to look at Ea, "It says it is dead...we are unsure what a shade is so we cannot answer your question. We are sorry" he said, his childlike voice rendered somewhat disturbing by the third person references, as well as hints of the deep voice that had roared with the fury of the forest some hours earlier.

"Thoven Hollysword."

It hissed fading into the air with it's cohorts as a stiff wind blew carrying the smell of ocean over the forest. A phenomenon occured called Sehanine's tears, essentially rain that revitalizes and is not wet. This was fortuitous as the journey could continue all night without fatigue.

"How are we going to get across the water towards Majharn without notice? I doubt we'll get to be teleported this time."

Tharien made note of the name before turning away from the phystal and beginning to walk down the path once more, heading towards Majharn and the looming confrontation with the humans that had decided to make base there. Holding his hands out he looked upwards as raindrops fell from the sky, hitting him but leaving him still dry even as it touched him. He had always enjoyed rain, and even though this kind lacked some of the joys that came with regular rain, it was still welcome. He practically skipped through the rain for a few minutes before returning his attention to the problem that was laid out before them.

"Well, I know an invisibility spell. I can summon some mounts that can swim us across, and turn us invisible" he said after a few moments thought. It might be a little difficult keeping it active on everyone, but it was a feasible idea.

"We are able to take the form of a bird, we can fly across" Rillas remarked quietly as he enjoyed the rainfall, ever curious to the new experience.

"That's that."

Aerendis said curiously swatting at the dry rain like he always had and even though the Fey in itself didn't make a whole lot of practical sense he never could get used to the idea of dry not wet liquid. After a while he just gave up on trying to fathom it and enjoyed it, it was a nice gift before what was inevitably to come.

It pittered and pattered smelling like rain even tasting of rain bringing good health to the plant life. Ea folded her arms humming to herself silently reflecting on everything the group had been through in a short amount of time and now they were heading back to Majharn of all places. Silently a shadow slipped by to the left being obvious without immediately revealing, Rillas would easily notice the presence. Yet another visitor.

Rillas paused as he noticed something, his body freezing so completely it seemed unnatural. Slowly looking around he spoke up, his amber eyes searching the surrounding area for whatever had caught his attention. "We are not alone, we feel that something is nearby" the Wilden stated calmly, his attention slowly turning to focus on the area where the presence was located.

Tharien's ears pricked up, and his wand and sword were drawn as he glanced around, searching for whatever had caught the attention of their little companion. He couldn't sense anyone, but the plant spirit seemed absolutely certain and he doubted that it eve knew what lying was so there was undoubtedly somenone there.

All at once the entire area was immersed in pitch black darkness, Aerendis was able to see by the use of his headband and watched a figure walk out onto the path in front of them. Drawing his flaming sword it shed enough light so that the group could see their immediate surroundings. The suspicious cloaked figure didn't stand very tall, it didn't even appear to have a living person inside of it. A husk of clothing rippling in the wind.

The darkness faded instantly and he turned to face them his visage unable to be discerned.

"So this is our taking back Majharn brigade? two elves a tiny ent and a demon. Sounds like the start of a bad joke."

Ea furrowed her brow speaking rather tersely.

"Dao you don't really care about Majharn that much I know."

"Ah but you as my best employer have strong emotional ties to the place. I was expecting to be your only means of liberating it and extorting you harshly but... I can afford to split my pay with them."

His words held obvious venom the kind of which you hear from a man with no intentions of sharing anything with anyone.
