"I'm not going to do anything" Tharien said sadly, he could feel it, the dark aura that had begun to spread over the area since he had invoked his name an lineage. Aerendis would probably be able to sense some similarity between this aura and his own. The air around the group seemed to become hazy, before sections of it split apart, revealing a dark outline and greyish mist. The portal nearest to Tharien spit out its cargo first, a heavily armoured figure in black plate metal, high sweeping pauldrons that ended in jagged points, spikes and blades strategically placed to turn the figures armour into a weapon. In its hand was a jagged shield that was as much a weapon as the cruelly edged sword in its hand. A tall helmet added at least another two feet to its height, a horsehair crest running down the back, and two red crystals for eye pieces. The figure parried the Aerenal guard's blow with its shield and with swift movements had the Eladrin on the ground, its sword pointed at the arrogant guard's throat. "Are you alright my lord?" the figure asked, its voice muffled by its helmet, but it was recognisable to him. "I'll be fine Commander" he said as more of the armoured figures spilled out, easily taking down the other guard, though when they approached Aerendis with hostile intent Tharien stopped them with a short and terse command. The aura was getting thicker, much, much thicker, and then, from one of the portals stepped a tall woman, bedecked in highly ornamented robes of black, the symbol of the Raven Queen on a pendant around her neck the most prominant piece of her many pieces of jewlery. Hair hair was pitch black with a silver circlet tucked beneath it, her skin pale white, her lips and nails painted black. Her eyes were poisonous green, very much like Tharien's own, and she held herself aloof and regal. A sword at her side was the sign she wasn't a spoiled lady with no skill. Of course, the shadows that seemed to constantly float like a mist from her feet hinted that she was no ordinary Eladrin, nor was the way her hair floated casually around contrary to her movements. A striking beauty, but all the more deadly because of it. She took one look at the subdued guards before turning to Tharien, and when she spoke there was a whispering echo after every word, coming from nowhere and everywhere all at once. "You called for me at last my son, I am surprised it took so long...and disappointed at the quality of what made you desperate enough to do so" "I will explain all to you, mother" the small wizard said, acting unusually deferential as he knelt before the woman, "I just ask that my companions and child can come with us" "Child? My, you have been busy" she said, surprised, even as she gestured for her guards to take away the two unfortunate Eladrin that had tried to arrest Aerendis. |

Suddenly a lot of things happened at once and more than one of them Aerendis had expected. Wind blew his hair every way eventually knocking it loose of it's binding so that it would flow freely. The guards were no match for these new 'guards' and even as he was approached by the seemingly taller knight he didn't falter or fear at all. He looked over Tharien's mother not quite sure who the woman was but he felt that she must be a diety of some sort. "The shadar-kai were speaking truths this much I knew." Ea of course had been watching from a safe distance finally stepping out since this arrival of power seemed to be on their side. Briskly she walked towards the group carrying Tharien's child thinking to herself. Standing by Aerendis' side she sighed quietly half whispering to the Eladrin. "So you must have my storm diamond then. There's no chance of mere coincidence but I hadn't thought that human more than a thief after he took my diamond. I know the shadar you speak of but they failed as much as I in stopping what happened to Majharn." |

"Your companions I assume? Such odd company you keep my son, a Feywarden and a tiefling. And this must be the child" she bent over to examine Divayth, "now I know he can't really be yours, so where did you find him?" she stood up and turned to look at her still kneeling son. "Majharn was destroyed by humans, I found him still living beneath the wreckage" he answered, head bowed. "Ah yes, her Majesty did mention that, so many souls passing certainly got her attention" the woman gestured to the commander of her personal guards, who respectfully made Tharien stand, and led the young wizard through the nearest portal, quickly disappearing from view. Lahalia of the Shadowfell, the most powerful Eladrin of her realm, turned to face Ea, Aerendis, and Divayth, her green eyes looking from one to the other. "My son requested that you come with us, as guests in my home. You may come if you like, or not, its your choice but choose quickly" she said, her voice a little less creepy now that she was purposefully restraining her power, not wanting to scare the child her son called his own. Divayth squirmed in Ea's grasp, trying to get free to follow Tharien. Even if all these scary grownups were around, he wanted to be with his guardian. |

Ea let the child down then preformed a curtsy and bowed deeply to the Eladrin woman making her hand sign as she stood back up soon breaking it off with nothing to say entering following behind Tharien. The paladin hadn't anything to say either but didn't know a thing about formalities deciding just to follow behind Ea thoughts of that diamond and the events previous to Majharn's destruction whirring in his head. Though what lay beyond that portal got him interested, whatever it was it should be better than dying in Aerenal anyhow. |

Tharien turned to see the three stumble out of the portal, visibly sagging in relief when he saw Aerendis and Divayth, the small dark haired child running over to him and gripping him tightly. As Lahalia stepped back into her realm the portals closed, and a wave of her hand dismissed most of her guards, four of them with deep red cloaks remaining. "They may stay in your rooms my son, take them there, get settled in, and for the Queen's sake change into something decent, I will no have you traipsing around like some peasant in my house. Off you go, we will speak tonight, I'm going to play with these toys you have brought me, such a thoughtful child" she cupped the young wizard's face gently before turning around and walking off, two of the red cloaked guards following her. Tharien hoisted Divayth up onto his hip, knowing those two guards were going to regret their actions for the rest of their long lives...long for a prisoner at least. The hall they were in was made of black stone, its roof high above them, seemingly disappearing in the darkness that the light could not reach, the walls elegantly sculpted in a fashion that was distinctly Eladrin, but dark enough to be obviously of Shadowfell. Without saying anything, or even looking either of the two in the eye, Tharien gestured for them to follow him, the darkness of the structure seeming to sap the life and energy out of him, the two remaining guards following with the group. He led them through a myriad of stone corridors, windows showing them to be several hundred meters above the ground below them, perched on the side of a precipice. The house of the Shadowthorn sat on a large stone column that was separate from the nearby mountain, but for a thick arch of stone that served as a bridge. The corridors held displays in the indents of the walls, suits of armour, weapons, magical artifacts, and numerous artworks. Eventually they reached set of large double doors, carved from a beautiful brown wood with scenes of nature, and particularly the sea. Pushing them open he gestured for Ea and Aerendis to enter his section of the keep. The doors opened to another large hall, this one much more well lit, with tapestries and thick rugs that made it seem far more cheery than the one they had entered to begin with. A huge fireplace dominated one side of the hall and was roaring, making the room pleasantly warm. Soft furniture was set beside the fire, and a row of bookshelves near them. A large table made of driftwood was set on the other side of the hall, the chairs made of the same material showing it was meant for at least ten people. "Well...sit down, I'm sure you have questions" Tharien said dully as he closed the doors on the guards, whose emotions couldn't be told behind the tall helms. The sound of suction would indicate that the doors had been sealed, they would only open to Tharien or his mother when activated. Taking a seat near the fire, Tharien set Divayth in his lap and rested his chin on the boy's shoulder, still not looking at his two companions. |

Following Tharien through the cool dark rooms Aerendis started to wonder exactly where they were and what Tharien's significance was in this place but he felt a time for questions would come soon. There seemed to be something amiss with the wizard, Ea was silent for most of the walk quickly seating herself when they arrived at their destination. Aerendis would have sat down were it not for his clunky dirty armor. "Questions? the only things I really need to know is where we are and who you are." "This is the Shadowfell Aerendis a roaming realm of death which parted from Faerun after the fall of Khorvaire's greatest nation. That is all I can tell you for certain." Ea answered not too curious herself about the circumstance she was in seemingly always sure of herself. |

"To be more specific, we're in the house of Shadowthorn, on the boundaries of the Raven Queen's personal territory. These are my rooms, where I grew up, these are my books, my furniture, my empty, hollow home" he stated, looking into the fire as he tickled Divayth lightly, his voice somewhat dead sounding. He had resigned himself to loss, of his freedom, of Aerendis...and so was trying to distance himself from it all as quickly as possible. "As to who I am...well, like I said to those guards, I am Tharien Shadowstalker, son of Lahalia of the Shadowfell, whom you just met, the Noble Eladrin whose sphere of influence is the whole of the Shadowfell, and one of the Raven Queen's most devoted servants" he sighed deeply. It was odd, he hadn't expected this place to effect him so greatly, but now that he had tasted freedom, to be back in his old cage, gilded though it was, was disheartening. His eyes focused on the familiar little shrine that he had set up in the very back of the hall, the symbols of the Raven Queen, Corellon, and tucked behind, smaller than the other two, was Sehanine. It had been several years since the shrine had been used, and now he had met two of the three gods he had revered then. Perhaps it wouldn't be too bad being stuck here, at least he would have Divayth |

The paladin nodded slightly trying to understand most of what Tharien was saying or perhaps it was not misunderstanding but the simple fact it didn't matter much in the grand scheme of things. Meandering over to the bookshelf he started leafing through them making himself quiet at home in Tharien's abode even going so far as to remove his breastplate stretching afterward. None of the books interested him but he remembered going through Tharien's spell book once not finding anything he could understand in there either. "Empty eh? it's not so bad... I could get used to living here." Ea's gaze had followed Tharien's to the shrine which she mentally acknowledged then folded her arms and closed her eyes thinking deeply almost in a sleep like state. "Raven Queen eh so she's the queen of ravens? what's a raven?" |

Tharien gawked, his jaw open and eyes wide. This was certainly not the reaction he had expected from them, not even slightly. He had expected...well, more, shock, disbelief, dislike, but not indifference and ignorance. "The Raven Queen is the goddess of death, surely you know that?" he asked in disbelief, his attention half focused on Aerendis hoping the Paladin wouldn't find the rather embarassing and trashy book that was hidden in that bookcase. It was certainly not something he should have been reading at 12, but he wasn't exactly a 'good' boy. "As for the emptiness, imagine being the only child of one of the most powerful beings in the realm...there was never an equal, always those below me and those above. It was not pleasant" his emotions were as chaotic as a storm at sea, turbulent, going this way and that, and now he felt very nearly ready to cry, despite the calm expression he had adopted on his face. He held Divayth close, drawing strength from the child's presence. The boy in question was still and quiet, staring into the fire, and even though he couldn't understand what they were saying, he knew that the grownups were having a serious discussion and he shouldn't interrupt. |

Absent minded he leafed through the books until he found one that had actual pictures on the cover and the back. Before opening it though he studied the cover then opened it speaking as he did so. "Death eh?" As he listened to the rest of what Tharien was saying he studied the picture with pure ignorance furrowing his brow at times as if to decipher some script but there were no words either. "I find existence hardly pleasant but you shall never return to that pain as you are neither above or below us." Ea said in her own way of trying to make Tharien feel better. "Why is this book called swordplay? I see no martial guidance." At this the Tiefling spared a gaze at Aerendis thinking maybe she'd have to explain something to him again but quickly closed her eyes again dodging what she considered a bullet, her heart beat quickening for a few moments. |

Tharien turned a deep red as Aerendis found the one book in that whole case he was hopining wouldn't be found. And to top it all off, he seemed to have no idea what it was...surely even a paladin would have been able to figure it out, it was full of diagrams after all, it should have been obvious. Ea obviously knew just what kind of book it was judging by the look on her face, which only made him blush more. Putting a yawning Divayth down on the chair as he stood up, Tharien rushed over to Aerendis, snatching the book off the paladin, not looking in his eyes, the wizard's face still scarlet. He tugged out a small book from the shelf and handed it to the other male. "If you want a book on martial guidance, read this one, its on the use of the longsword in combat and magic. Its rather old and rare, so be careful with it." that said he disappeared down one of the adjacent hallways and out of sight. After ten minutes he came back, book gone and dressed in robes of black velvet with silver embroidery. A black belt with a platinum buckle rested around his waist, his wand holstered on his left side next to a curved dagger, a second dagger on the back of his belt. In the house of the Shadowthorn being unarmed was unnaceptable. He tossed a red velvet cloak on the table, along with black leather gloves and a rather ornate looking longsword with a symbol of the Raven Queen worked into the pommel. He didn't like these clothes much, they were too dark for his tastes, though he did look dangerously attractive now, especially with the new scar. "There'll be a change of clothes for the two of you soon" he said as he went to sit down again, sliding Divayth back onto his lap, the robe lifting enough to show shiny black boots, "It seems my old stuff was resized to fit me perfectly at some point" he grouched, pulling at the high collar of his robe. |

"Huh magic?" He fiddled with the book leafing through it only temporarily before placing it back on the shelf sitting himself down for the first time since arriving. Aerendis watched Divayth tentatively then his eyes floated over to Ea who'd again return the gaze causing him that unsettling feeling. As Tharien returned he wore some strange dark attire that seemed carefully made of course to please his mother or so the paladin thought. "This is probably not the best time to remark but you hadn't told me whether or not you had my diamond. It's rather rare, powerful an expensive." Ea's words died near the end of her sentence as she'd be more worried about it's worth if she still had a business to attend to but all that was lost now. Silently she wondered what sort of wares they had in the Shadowfell. "I know we had something like that at one point... dunno where it got off to though." The paladin answered pushing himself from his seated position to pull on Tharien's collar feeling the material his clothes were made of. "Do I gotta wear that too?" |

"No, you don't...you'll probably have silk though, and other 'fine' materials. Here I'm pretty much a prince and mother likes me to look the part" he sighed, playing with Divayth's short dark hair as the boy's eyes slid closed in sleep, the long day having exhausted the small Eladrin. Leaving Aerendis to play with his clothing, Tharien reached for his belt, his small hand slipping into the pouch that hung there as he dug around for something, the coins sliding against his skin as he searched. After a minute he found what he was looking for and pulled it out. The gem glittered in his hand as he held it out to Ea, its beauty was captivating, but he was no thief. "When I took it, it was in the possession of a human with a drow blade, so there was no issue. Now that someone claims rightful ownership, its time to give it up" he looked at the gem one more time, it was such a pretty thing. |

"I'm quite aware of who took it from me I just wanted to make sure you still had it. I no longer have any interest in the gem as I can't sell it anymore." Again Aerendis sat down huffing as he hit the seat studying the gem and wondering what it could be used for aside from looking pretty and dangerous. As he wondered he played with his war hammer thinking about Tharien who was missing a staff, the wizard. He knew Tharien was a wizard but what exactly was Ea? it wasn't wizard's magic she used nor was it abyssal she spoke. "Hey Ea what sort of magician are you anyway?" "I'm not I know what I know because of my Eladrin father and mother." Now this confused the rather innocent man as he tried to think about what kind of Eladrin would birth something that looked like a Tiefling. |

Tharien placed the gem down on the low table between the chairs and stood up, carrying Divayth back down the hallway he had disappeared into, placing the boy in his overly large bed, it was nearly time for him to go meet with his mother, and he wanted to make sure that the young Eladrin was safe and comfortable. Coming back into the hall he buckled the sword to his waist, slipped on the leather gloves, and tied the cloak around his neck. The finishing touch was to let down his hair and braid it into the circlet of silver, similar to the one he had worn when meeting Corellon. A knock at the double doors had him walk gracefully over to them, opening them to let a relatively old looking Eladrin woman in. "This is Elanor, she was my wet nurse and nanny when I was younger, she'll see to your clothing and needs for now, I have to go and speak with my mother, hopefully her Majesty isn't there right now...mother gets in such a mood..." he trailed off, kissed the woman on the cheek, and left, the sound of armour clad guards walking after him disappearing as the doors shut. "I have brought a number of different articles for you to try sir and madam, I had to guess the sizes based on your build but I believe they will all fit adequately" Elanor said, her tone rather typical for a servant speaking to guests of her master, she placed the clothing on the table and moved towards the hall that Tharien had disappeared down before. "Down here are the bedrooms, Milord Tharien's room is at the very end of the corridor, you may choose whichever other one you wish" she said respectfully before disappearing to go and check on Divayth, unaware that if Tharien had his way, only Ea would need to chose a different room. |

After the older woman disappeared down the hall the two began picking through the clothing each taking articles they liked from the offering. Ea had picked her room and Aerendis used one of the spare rooms to change his clothing each of them emerging after a short time. The paladin was the first to emerge wearing a black tunic and belt with dark leggings and leather boots, his cloak was full body clasping at the front which hung down to his knees hiding most of his body. Ea wore a dark scarlet gown with a black vest choosing to keep her own boots on soon following after Aerendis to the sitting area they were at before as the Eladrin male braided his long hair in order to keep it out of his face or from dangling everywhere. Now they had only to wait for whatever was going to happen. |

Some time passed before Tharien returned, and it was well and truly dark by that point. Off in the distance, through the large windows of the hall, a faint bluish green glow on the horizon. The large double doors swung open to reveal the small Eladrin wizard, before they closed shut on the two guards that had taken up positions beside them. Sighing, the teen sat down on the chair nearest to the fire "I haven't managed to convince her to let me go again...at least, not yet. You two are free to leave when you want of course, it wouldn't do for it to seem like guests were prisoners" he said, breaking the quiet of the room. Elanor hadn't come out during the time he was gone, too busy was she preparing the guest rooms and watching over the sleeping Divayth. "Mother has invited you both to dine with her tonight, should you wish to. If that is the case, there are some things that you'll need to know, but she stressed that it was not compulsory to join her, as she is aware you may need to acclimatise to the house first" |

"It may not be compulsory but it is respectful." The Tiefling said having no mind to leave Tharien though she wasn't quite sure where they'd go even if they left anyways. Aerendis was tossing around his long braid not particularly used to the feel of the style but enjoying it's effectiveness in controlling one's hair. In his mind despite his childish antics he was mulling over many things at once finally stopping the gears of his mind to bring his fist against an open palm. "Alright! let's go to dinner then!" With that he marched at the door completely forgetting the wizard's mention of needing to know some things first and not knowing how to even get it open anyhow. He knocked briskly on it then started feeling it's surface. "That's wood." |

Tharien stared at the Paladin, unsure how to take the older male's actions, he was still sort of in shock after the events of Majharn, and then the revelation of his true origins, not to mention the lack of reaction that said revelation had gotten. "Before we go anywhere, you both should put on one of the daggers there, here its considered a sign of weakness to be unarmed when out of your rooms, only servants walk around without weapons, and even then, only the less important ones. Don't speak to the helmeted guards, just think of them as walking statues or something, its considered impolite to distract them while they are on duty, only myself and my mother can do that. Umm...remember that mother is powerful and used to respect, I don't know what she'd do if you accidently insulted her" The small wizard sighed, resisting the urge to run his hand through his hair, lest he disturb the intricate braiding that held his circlet in place. "Any questions before we go?" |

"Daggers eh?" The Eladrin said quickly forgetting about the door that wouldn't open for some strange reason and slinking over to check out the knife Tharien was talking about. After picking it up and carefully examining it he came to a brilliant conclusion about the object he held. "That's well crafted and sharp! but I want my hammer Tharien..." He whined quietly stowing away the dagger just because he thought it was pretty. Ea had taken one of the daggers but was also going to bring with her the wand in tucked in her tassle and the longsword that hung around her waist. "Though we are friends of Tharien we must act as peons without enervating ourselves." She muttered to nobody in particular almost whispering. |

"You can wear your hammer if you want" Tharien said softly "the daggers are a sidearm, and besides, it was just in case you didn't want to cart around your other weapons" the small mage moving over to the doors, opening them easily as they reacted to his magical signature. Talking softly to the guards outside, he turned to face his companions. "Well, shall we depart?" he gestured to the doorway, waiting for them to walk through so he could close the doors and seal them once more, preventing anyone from entering and disturbing their things. Adjusting his robes a little, the wizard led them through the winding corridors, four armoured guards escorting the small group through the fortress of the Noble of Shadowfell. Servants would stop and bow as the group passed, but the trip was silent bar the clanking of the guards' armour. Eventually they would come to a huge set of double doors. Tharien dismissed the guards who went to the nearby guardroom. Sighing softly to himself, Tharien steeled himself for the coming meeting, before swinging the massive doors open. The room they led to was made of obsidian, the walls decorated with paintings, drapes, and a massive ornate fireplace on one wall. The stone floor was covered with a thick red velvet floor carpet. In the centre of the room was a beautifully ornate wood table, with carved high back chairs set around it. On the table was a large variety of dishes, meats, vegetables, all sorts of delicacies. Sitting at the head of the table was Lahallia, the regal eladrin looking over her guests as though she were a queen. "Come, sit, eat" she said authoritarily, gesturing to the seats nearest to her. Tharien bowed slightly before moving to the table, seating himself at the right hand of his mother, looking down at his silver plate. "How do you like my home?" the woman asked Aerendis and Ea, not paying any attention to her son for the moment. |

Quickly he retrieved his hammer resting it on his shoulder following Tharien with Ea in tow for the silent trip through the fortress which neither could be sure about how big it was having not entered from the outside. Eventually they came to a set of double doors which seemed to be a prevalent theme throughout the household and inside was a beautifully decorated room not unlike what the two had expected. Lahalia of course sat at the head of the table commanding her guests to sit with her and eat. Aerendis and Ea took the seats opposite Tharien feeling only natural about the spots they chose. The paladin set his hammer next to him resting it on the table while Ea adjusted her sword so that she could sit properly. "Nothing less than befitting a noble." The Tiefling said waiting for her hosts to begin before she herself did anything. It was a nerve wracking experience if only for her history being raised by Eladrin and yet looked down on by them. "Your doors don't like to work all the time." Aerendis said almost jeering a reaction from Ea who maintained herself, he looked at the food on the table thinking now might not be the best time to decide not to eat. Picking up one of the delicacies he looked at Lahalia with curiosity and naivety in his eyes speaking with open handed and unchecked cordiality. "What are these?" |

Lahallia served herself some of the food, taking a light sip of her drink, surveying her son and his companions. The paladin was very naive, or stupid, but he had to have his uses or her child would not have travelled with him, nor invoked her name to save him...though for the life of her she couldn't figure out what use he was. "That's an Artantos teste" she said casually, taking a sliver of vegetable off her plate and eating it delicately, "its high in protein and has a light, tangy flavour. Its meant to enhance your performance too" the tone of her voice would make it obvious to Ea at least that she meant sexual performance. She didn't expect that the naive Paladin would get the innuendo. She regally gazed over the table, waiting for a reaction. Tharien blushed slightly at his mother's insinuation and simply ate in silence. |

"Artantos teste?" Curiously the paladin spoke attempting to eat it only to have it suddenly become insubstantial so that his fingers would pinch together. Looking around himself for it making sure he hadn't dropped it he didn't expect it to just fall out of the air and make a clunk as it hit his plate. Picking it up again he did this three or four more times before he finally chomped on it and swallowed the thing whole. "Kind of tangy and a bit leathery but I like it." Aerendis rocked from side to side in his chair enjoying the atmosphere and the food. Somehow he'd managed to make Ea relax a bit more who'd resigned herself to mostly eating the vegetables available. Next the paladin took some cooked meat eating and drinking a lot more than he was used to. "Hey Tharien you sure do look pretty like your mother." He said with his yellow glowing orbs passing between the two making comparisons though of course there were features he couldn't match to her. The Tiefling for the moment decided to remain quiet figuring that Aerendis would already be a handful enough for Lahalia. |

Tharien blushed at Aerendis' words, causing his mother to stare at him for long moments, before she turned her attention back to her son's companions. Taking another sip from he chalice, she stared off into the distance, as if hearing something the others could not. "Tell me" she said finally, after long moments of silence, "about yourselves. I wish to know what sort of individuals travel with my only child through the dangerous world." she trailed a long finger across the rim of her golden chalice, looking first at Ea, and then Aerendis. Tharien wanted to protest her attitude, but he knew it wouldn't do him any good. It might even anger her, and that was something he didn't want. Instead he remained silent, hoping she wouldn't do anything too bad. Though really, she was on the best behaviour he had ever seen of her when interacting with individuals who werent either himself or the Raven Queen. |

Nervously Ea looked up unable to hide her emotions as flawlessly as she'd liked to be able to. Her gaze remained steady though her body told her to look at Lahalia which she gave in to knowing she had to at least acknowledge the other. Nodding slightly she opened her mouth to begin telling her tale in full to this 'queen' of the shadow. "I was no doubt born a Tiefling however I was raised among Eladrin. I do not know of my true origins as I was found in the streets of Majharn where I grew up. My parents were merchants as one would expect and I took on the family business. However my business was not quite as honest as they had built it up to be what with me freely hiring assassins but I digress. This was how I lived my life never worrying about the infernal nightmares or my past until humans from Jolindur destroyed Majharn." It was detailed and she had hoped it would satiate Lahalia's thirst for knowledge of her though she had left out the bit about her battle capabilities. Aerendis assumed he would be the next to speak to her and indeed he was. Whilst scratching his head and poking at the meat in front of him with a utensil he stuttered as he started. "Well I uh... uhm let's see where do I begin?. I think I was born in Aerenal though as far as I can remember I lived in the abbey my entire life where Bixro trained Feywardens. Apparently I'm destined to destroy the Eladrin race but I think that's just something he tells me when I break all the stuff in the place. I started my final test by being told to go to Aerenal except I met a nude wizard in a lake then everything except going to Aerenal happened. We talked to Corellon at his house then went to Majharn and then..." Of course he'd skipped mentioning their first visit and was pained with remembering the details of Majharn's destruction. |

Lahallia opened her mouth as if to reply, only to turn her gaze to the side as if hearing something that they could not. After a few moments, she turned her attention back to her guests. Taking a breath slowly, she spoke, "You will have to forgive me, but I have duties to attend to. Eat your fill and then my son will take you back to your quarters." With that the noble eladrin stood and swept out of the hall, the doors parting before her automatically, and closing once she had passed through. "Well...that was my mother" Tharien said finally, in a small voice, unsure of what to do or say next. |

"Why would she ask us such a wordy question and then leave?" Aerendis said watching her leave slightly perturbed by what had happened though Ea had said nothing and finished eating. Staring at Tharien he blinked with a smattering of thoughts about his mother whirring about in his head. "Ah well she's gone now so I guess we'll go back to your room whenever you're ready." |

"Mother is the noble of Shadowfell, and a direct servant of the Raven Queen...perhaps something came up that she needed to deal with...either way, at least its over" the wizard said as he put down his cutlery, standing up, and waiting for the other two to do the same. He would lead them back to his rooms and there they would stay for the next week. Each night Tharien would go to talk with his mother, and each night he came back looking exhausted. The small wizard spent most of his time quietly playing with Divayth, the forced imprisonment in his home sapping his strength of personality greatly, and it would be obvious to the others. Luckily for him, his mother noticed it too, and by the end of the week he walked in after yet another exausting discussion with the woman, a triumphant smile on his otherwise tired face. Slumping in an armchair by the fire, he stared at the flickering flames for long minutes before finally sharing his thoughts. "She's letting me go...we even have leave to take stuff from the armoury while we're here, whatever we feel like, within reason" he never took his eyes off the fire. |

Instead of saying anything more he went to the room with Ea where they would be held for a week in a very posh prison though they'd both decided to remain with Tharien. The paladin's own personality became harder and colder with each passing day though it seemed like the Tiefling was the only unaffected out of the three. Finally the wizard returned looking a little glad rather than exasperated which lightened the moods of the others. "Within reason?" Aerendis practically spat the words out making his way to the door standing there as if waiting to leave right that second. Ea looked a little worried as the male stomped passed her, pushing herself out of her seat she walked up behind him. She reached out to touch him for his attention chancing that she may be able to calm him down. |
