I've had a chance to witness my fellow guildie's progress from a miserable resetter to a successful mage. It didn't take long to notice that what people hate more than dying is dying without real combat. So, what do you think? Is harm-killing cowardice or pr0ness? After all, mages do not get pki or names to kill list, and living with low emu isn't easy either. Shouldn't they be respected for their skills, or is that all just some kind of RP bs? I think your guildie is gonna be in big trouble in PK when they come up against someone who's not a PK n00b

I agree...if the big trouble means the pr0s can click one extra button (MI). He even tried Toomass, too bad 4 harms weren't quite enough. Mage survived...by walking away. (And I realise it will get more difficult later on tyvm). |

tbh? I hope Ent soon comes with some good spells, like to break the mag imm. the biggest n00b with mag lvl 30 cant be bothered with magic anymore And since he said he was introducing mages class he forgot he had to offer more then making spells depend on attributes. all a mage can do now is attacking n00bs who forgot immun and cast restore.... and about respect ?? Imho its the hardest skill to lvl so indeed mages deserve some respect |

If you think so... plz explain. atm PK is more like who has best armour, most harmfull wheapon etc. Sure pr0 pk'ers will say its about skill, but then i say. WTF ! magic is a skill too and a powerfull wheapon. mag imm is a spell wich should be much higher lvl then it is now. let there be a break spell asap plz. so a mage can use his powers in pk too, even if its only to assist friendly fighters whyle they try to hunt down some of the unbeatable strong ppl in game. |

Highest Magic levels ingame are yeti/acw trainers. You will only make those 'unbeatable strong people' even more powerfull. |

exactly what St_A said. IIRC, when radu talked about rem MI spell, it was going to be level and rationality based... it's too bad that almost all the highest level a/d'ers are also the highest level mages, but that's the way it is... the high level ppl will remove weaker ppls MI np but they wont be able to easily remove there's. The Mana drain spell would need to drain A LOT less mana for a MI removal spell to not ruin PK. and there's people who harm for like ~100 health or something now... that'd need to be majorly weakened too. i have got respect for anyone who is good with magic in the game, ino its very hard to lvl and i would really like to get a good lvl, but i'll wait 4 more lvls til i get 40 to start training it. thing is in every other game people face the choice between magic and combat, here you can (and have to) choose both, since EL is a 'hits' game, where hitting is the most important, whereas other games are 'damage' games where damage is the most important, our lvls give us more hit/blocks they get damage/defense, thats why we can't have powerful spells, and we need a way to be immune. |

Haha, you have no idea. Imo, there should never be remove MI spell, but neither should harm's effect be weakened. If you sacrifice everything to be good in what you do, there should also be some benefit to it. Especially if one nice MI can block the spells. And high mag lvl does not automatically mean that you're a mage, nonono. |

ok lets put the cards on teh table. There is this alt i train for magic, his a/d is lower than his magic (54/58/60 to be honest) if there isn't going to be a immun rem. spell the higher lvl rat should be able to break through. it is just wierd that i cant md or ld or w/e with it assoon as a player hits lvl 30 that way we will never have ppl training magic to stand a chance in combat and will indeed only the strong fighters have high mag lvl's. imho its time the mages have a chance too else the whole skill is just to support instead of going to be skill on its own. |

imho mages don t exist or won t exist someone with high magic level + will or reasoning with a/d ~75 ( the higher u can get ) can t defeat a pker. pker would need something like 2 hits to kill the mage + he can use summons (to keep him busy) as he/she comes closer and don t forget what pk bolts can do to a mage Just a small senario |

I think what Korrode meant is IF there is an anti-MI spell, the effects of harm/MD should be decreased. And well, while high magic levels do not mean people are mages, Toom/Gnny/Sia/Marro/Ambro/Abaddon/Aesop/MP/OMG/Jaclaw/etc (just the first few names I got from top Magic on EL site), all have WAY more reasoning (and possibly Will) than any normal player, so no matter how much effort you put into being a "Mage", you will never be able to match them, or use magic to defeat them. They use MD instead of SR's when training Yeti/ACW, so they effectively "train" magic everytime they train A/D at no extra cost to them. If people seriously want to make a "Mage" class, they would have to look at something like Magic Nexus if they want to get an edge on the stronger fighters. |

Ye, well I don't think it would be fair anyways that if one has top 10 a/d and mag, someone with way lower lvls could put them down just like that. However, if the wannabe-mage has 48 rat and top 50 mag lvl, he is a serious danger to nearly anybody when MI is not on. With little strategy kills are possible and sometimes (it seems) laughably easy to get. And oh how this angers ppl. You don't have to be in combat to kill someone with magic, so a/d is not necessarily a problem. |

I don't understand your line of thinking. First you say "If you sacrifice everything to be good in what you do, there should also be some benefit to it. " but now you say " if the wannabe-mage has 48 rat and top 50 mag lvl, he is a serious danger to nearly anybody when MI is not on.". Are you just agree'ing with everybody, or is this your version of polite conversation? Who are you btw? |

? is this game then only for top players ? what about all those who are way lower in any skill? don't they deserve any chance to develop a skill/way of char building they want? what i think is: a mag lvl 60 mage with about a/d 50'sh-60'sh should be able to stand in a fight using magic instead of some uber strong wheapon. look at dpa... it is too nuts than some n00b char with way too much gc can own it just because of his gay sword or fucking armour. magic is a combat lvl and should be treatened that way too. and besides, it teh God's own saying he wanted a mage class.... all i hear here is "omg then the strong fighters can own everyone" I say wtf cant they already ? |

@Walt They don't own everyone as easily as they did pre-attrib cap, but they would probably be more lethal in combat now if they can remove MI than they were pre-cap. I get what your saying Walt, and if anything i agree with you, i'm just saying that we couldn't simply 'get a MI removal spell'... quite a few other changes would need to be made to some spells before it'd be workable... as it stands atm, it would tilt the power too far in the mage's direction. @Carat Yeah what St_A said... who are u? and what drugs are u on?

I se what you mean but... all i hear is that you are all afraid of the strong yeti/ac trainers. Sure they have high mag lvl. and sure that few would own all other fighters but must a mage be punished for being good in that skill but while he trained to be that way he couldn't train his a/d ? because if you dont have few mill to spend magic cant be trained with a/d. you have to LD the critters you fight which will cost a/d xp ... i cant agree to be frightend that the few very strong fighters with the high mag lvl (not many above 80 i think) can dominate the game that far that others cant do shit with it. |

Erm, I don't understand what you don't understand. If you think that I'm first saying that current situation is bad for anyone wanting to be a mage, then you're wrong. Imo the situation is good. All I was referring to with that first sentence was the idea of lowering the power of harm. And who am I? Wish I knew. (formerly known as Caratia...if that doesn't ring a bell, it's because I'm shy and quiet ) |
