horde sucks. only good race is blood elf & u cant get that unless u bought burning cursader. pick alliance ;p
Actually wrong ^^. for e.g. If you want to be a stam tank tauren pwns because of racial 5% stam increase, dps melee i've always found that orc warr is great, due to racial abilities etc. as for ally, human rogue is great, added stealth detection. I can't say i have ever picked a WoW char for looks, actually how it's racial's would benefit the class i want to be :]

talix<3 horde* :p
racial benefits make no difference at all if you're skilled at your class.

and horde will always be better than alliance, because alliance are fags. :)

So, do you guys recommend doing the quests or no? Seemed like they were helpful to learn the game at first, but now I'm doing better just finding a spot and killing everything i see.

Also, what about the talent points? Do you recommend spreading them sort of even between the three categories, or going for top level in one? Is it like EL PP that get scarce, so you have to choose very carefully, or do you get enough to have a top level talent in all three areas?

I would do questing from level 1-8 then go to orgrimmar and get a party or some higher level to run you through rfc. There are things called instances where you go into a dungeon and someone with a higher level aggroes every monster there and you get shared exp from it (but only if you are in the same party). You get good armor and gold from doing these and there are instances for all levels. Quests get boring so I recommend instances.

As for talents, I would pick one main tree and stick with that. Depending on what class you are you want to pick what's right for you. For leveling you want to deal damage so iirc you are a rogue? Best for you I think is Combat (correct me if wrong). Don't spread your points out too much, pick a main tree. You have 1 talent point starting at level 10 and every 2 levels you gain 1 point so choose wisely. You can always go to a class trainer and give em 5 gold to reset your tree as well.

YouTube guides: look up "SyF the giver tutorials" and once you learn more "wowhobbs" has great instance guides.

TY - You get way better xp/drops in the instances than just going out and killing stuff?

Also, is it just my luck or does the drop rate decrease if you've been at the same spot for a while?

EDIT - BTW I could give a rat's ass if EL goes back to one click harving or not. :rofldesk:

<3's Ryo.
just follow the quests - much better than grinding, rewards, exp and less boring. instances are ok if you can find a group, I never really bothered with em while levelling, too annoying when some fag from the group remembers he has to go 5 min in or something.

go to http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/default.aspx

download the Questhelper addon, shows you where to go for most of the quests.

btw, dinged lvl 60 on my hunter, 1d 12hr played time :)

www.google.com
search for "Horde leveling guide" or "alliance leveling guide" should get some links to James <Faction> leveling guide, those are awesome, and free

as for talent point spend them in 1 tree, best specs for leveling are
Warrior - Arms
Rogue - Combat swords
Shaman - enhancement
Warlock - Demonology
Paladin - Retribution or Prot
Deathknight - Blood
Hunter - Beast mastery
Druid - Feral
Mage - Frost (AoE grinding ftw ^^)
Priest - Shadow

as for instances just look on www.Thottbot.net search for the instance name, click the instance name under "Zones"
and you get a list of available quests for that instance, get them all and let a high level run you through (instance quests give nice exp, gold and items)
if you cant find a high lvl then hope you find a good group of 4 ppl, and pray to god hoping they are competent

as for good add-ons
-Questhelper
-Atlas and Atlasloot (gives you maps of instances, and list of items that drop from the bosses there)
-Cartographer (reveals all unexplored area's)
-Titan panel (shows coords on the map, free bagspace, how much gold u got, your durability on items ping and other stuff in 2 small bars on top and bottom of your screen)
-Gatherer (if one of your professions is herbalism or mining it shows all harvestable nodes on the map)
-Shardace if your a lock (you can set it up nicely to automaticly put soulshards in your soulbag, easy right click icon around your mini map to quickly cast spells or create soulstones/healthstones, or summon demons)

and the most important of all Recount, shows how much damage you did in an instance, can reset it before a boss fight to show only the damage done to a boss, cause boss damage is what counts ^^.
and afterwards you can link your damage or DPS done for that bossfight in party chat to show others how much more you wtfpwn then them :>

whenever you quest and there is someone else around be sure to hit every mob before he does and hope he agro's it, so he's killing the mobs you need for you! \o/
ofc afterwards select him and do /dance in chat, or /rude to show him how much you apreciated the help

Instance drops are pretty good, you get a lot more copper/silver than you do from doing the lower level quests, and drop rates don't increase/decrease I don't think. There are "elite" monsters with a gold dragon around their picture and they have good drops but are harder to kill.

<3's Ryo.
eh blood isn't necessarily best for DK levelling.

best for single target encounters, but unholy is better overall for levelling I think, with some points in blood. Better deeps and still no downtime :))

although tbh frost is just as good, DKs are OP when it comes to levelling with no downtime :<
